Ace took an awkward fall as something was emerging from the man hole. The girl from before approaches and grab him "Well thanks doll--", he was cut off his sentence and feels something strange is happening like his memory was being erase and being replace by another. "What just happen!? last thing i recall we're being chase by...Bees!?" he mumbles. He quickly gets up and cowers in fear. "Bees!" he shouted out loud.

Not thinking straight, Ace uses his powers as the speedster dashes in a blur not far from the group. leaving an ear shattering shockwave as it echoes within the dark alley, causing windows around the area to shatter and alarms were trigger. He stop on his tracks and look back. "Come on, those bees are gaining on us!" he shouted with a pale look on his face to the people behind him.

((am i doing it right?))

Beverly was knocked over by the resounding shock wave from Ace's power.

"Oww, why in the world would you do something like that" Beverly yells well rubbing her ringing ears. "You must have one messed mind if you freak out on that." She continues to yell at Ace. "Be lucky it was only bees i could of done something much worst." She finishes as the ringing leaves her ears.

Ace tries to get a grasp of what is going on. lol wut? why am i running from bees? the last thing i remember was i fell down and this girl grab me... wait a minute. he turns his attention at the yelling girl, he went back to confront her "wait what? you did all of this." he paused for awhile "What the hell is your problem!?" he yelled out of frustration. he soon calms down and tries to talk politely as he can to the unnamed girl.

"ok, ok its probably my fault for provoking you, Im sorry." he sighed

"you're not here by accident aren't you? now you have our attention, now talk. what's your name doll-- er miss?"

"There's no time for that, we've got to get out of here before the Police get to us!"

Kenny then started running in the same direction as the Bartender, but then stopped, and yelled back to the girl.

"What are you waiting for? Let's go!"

Kenny then continued running in the same direction as before.

"What the heck?" as another stranger shows up from the manhole before and started running with the bartender. what's the deal with people popping out of nowhere? Ace was quite shaken as he regains his current memory, he begins to run as well as he invites the unnamed girl. "He's right! save your answers later, C'mon lets go somewhere safe! this place will be crawling with the police anytime soon." and with that Ace runs at a normal human speed.

Eugene watched as another shady person walked over towards him. He recognized the voice as the one that had spoken earlier. While the man talked Eugene tried to gain more distance by crawling back. This guy was even scarier than the first one. Eugene opened his mouth a few times to say something back or beg for his life, but his voice was stuck. Fear took over his entire body and he felt like he was frozen again. When the ray of sunlight disappeared, Eugene didn’t move an inch. He tried to listen where the man was but he only heard his own heavy breath and his heart pounding in his chest. He would die. Right here, right now. And he had no idea why.

Suddenly he felt the man breath in his neck. Eugene made a squeaky noise and tried to run away again. In his panic he fell over his own feet and hit the ground hard. His hand found something cool, as made from steel.

“Come on, squirm a little. Make this fun for me.”

The way the man spoke gave Eugene goosebumps. He got back up, the cold thing still in his hand. He soon realized he hand a steel pipe in his hands. He took a firm grip and started yelling, panic in his voice. “I don’t know anything about you! I have no information!”

Eugene started to walk slowly backwards while wildly swinging the steel pipe around him. He didn't want to die.

after he had walked a few blocks away from the Airport, Anver found himself at the edge of Time Square. being in the place brought back the memory of the day he had become... whatever the hell he was now...

To think... He thought to himself That day... everything changed for me...

He stared up at the spire over head in the distance.... the thing that had shot up from the ground. it looked pretty much the same now as when he had seen it then... excepting the fact that there was now a Government presence ever in the area of it. He couldn't explain it...

but for some reason, he felt a strange... yearning almost, like something calling out to him in his very soul... calling for him to go to the Pillar....

He pushed away the feeling, it disappeared as quickly as it had come. he turned around and walked away from Time Square, away from the strange structure that had started all of this. he walked off down the street, the surroundings becoming more and more familiar as he walked more... he knew that he was in the higher-end part of the City, where those with money or power lived. he stopped at one building in particular, gazing into the impressive lobby through the glass doors and stealing a peek at the square box with various drawers and numbers on it, located just beside the Elevator. He saw what he had been searching for.

Mailbox 04 looks like they're still in the apartment...

He took solace in knowing that he was now close to his family... but was actually a little annoyed that Sandra hadn't taken Mia and Rose somewhere else for safety.... still, at least he knew where they were now...

And he intended to visit. it had been how long? He couldn't even remember... Months, maybe?

he walked further down the street, slipping into the Alley way on the side of the building, his eyes immediately falling on the ancient fire escape that he had used to get away that night when he began his life as a Fugitive. he went over to the old, rust covered ladder that dropped down to ground level from the structure, Staring upwards.

Well... looks like I'm going to have to go back up this old thing... Hop it doesn't give out on me...

With that thought, he grabbed the rung of the ladder, and began pulling his body upwards higher off the ground.

Cedric nodded approvingly as Lux responded.

"Well said. I can tell you stand firmly behind your beliefs. You have an unflinching dedication to your cause. I do believe you can be a true protector of the people, if that is what you wish." He met the man's eye. "But don't think you aren't unique for that. Everything I have seen about you as of yet is like no other. You are unique, whether you will believe it or not." He gave a sincere smile. "I enjoy having a discussion with someone who is not afraid to disagree with me." He chuckled. "Perhaps you should act as an advisor to me." He waved his hand dismissively. "That's just a little joke, though the position is open if you do want it. Take some time, think about what I've said. Unless there's anything else you want to ask, all choices from here on depend upon you. If you will join my cause, I will welcome you with open arms. If not, so be it. That is the power of free will. I will have Blue return you to wherever you want to go." He laced his fingers together. "I'll be waiting when you have your decision."

As Allen came out the other side of the portal, he nearly collided with a grinning Rebecca. She laughed as he stumbled to avoid her. Looking past her, Allen could see two men seated at a table, one with short blonde hair, and the other with his face obscured by a black hoodie. There was a TV facing a couch, behind which another girl stood. She had long black hair that covered one eye and wore a red shirt covered with a black coat. Everyone but the hooded man turned to look at Allen. Rebecca still had the same grin on her face.

"Allen, welcome to our little club of misfits!" she said gleefully. She began introducing everyone. "The blonde guy over there is Bryan, but you can just call him Beetle. Eveyone else does." Beetle waved. "I see we have another new guest. Welcome." Rebecca continued. "The guy in the hoodie is Nexus. He doesn't talk much, and we've never been able to get him to spit out his real name, but he's a good guy." Beetle spoke up. "That's Alice over by the couch. We just brought her in today as she was being chased by the police." Rebecca smiled. "Any questions for anybody?"

The bartender ran with the group for a while until they were clear of the police zone. He stopped, leaning against a nearby building and pulled out a cellphone, rapidly dialing a number.

"The warehouse is hit. We've been attacked." A faint response could be heard from the phone, but it couldn't be made out. The bartender spoke again after a short while.

"Understood. I'll head there now."

He turned to the two in the group who had joined him and Ace. "Listen, I don't know who you to are, but if you're running from the police as well, then it's almost certain that you're Awakened. That's just how things are these days." He stopped, putting his head into his heads for a moment and taking deep breaths. He seemed a bit calmer when he stood again. "I suppose you'll just have to come with us," he mumbled. He then led them down a few more blocks and stopped, muttering to himself. "He should be here any moment..."

A man turned the corner to face the group. He had pale blue eyes, with hair dyed the same color. He was wearing a formal blue shirt and black pants. The man smiled.

"We'd best get you going, then."

He grabbed the bartender and Ace, disappearing in a blue flash of light. A few seconds later, he returned, taking away the remaing two.

They reappeared on a rooftop of a tall building with no apparent way on or off of it. The man in blue was nowhere to be seen. The bartender turned to the group. "We should be able to talk here. But first, I'm sure you all have things you want to ask me. Now is the time."

“I don’t know anything about you! I have no information!”

The man could be heard laughing maniacally as Eugene swung the pole around.

"That's the spirit! Fight! Squirm!"

There was a searing pain as the knife cut into Eugene's arm. It wasn't deep. The man was simply torturing him, having his fun.

"Unfortunately for you, I can't just take your word for it. I have my orders, and I intend to see them through."

The was a crash, and Eugene could hear the man cry out in pain. Seconds later, the web of darkness faded, allowing the light to return. The man from before lay crumpled against a piece of scrap concrete in the dump heap. Another man towered over him. He had well-kept short gray hair, and a serious, businesslike expression. He appeared to be in his early sixties, but was in very good shape. He showed no signs of his age, standing tall and muscular in the grey suit he wore. He turned to Eugene, speaking in a deep, sonorous voice.

"Are you all right?"

"Want a smoke?"
Keaton hesitated, looking up at the man. He looked aged, almost 50, and had strange, mixed eye colors. If not a pedophile, then he was one tough son-of-a-gun. He had always avoided smoking, because his home was littered with bullets, cartridges, and other flammable substances. But having something like a cigar could be handy...
"Yeah. But for later," he said, taking the cigar and putting it in his shirt pocket. The man was cool and controlled, by the sound of it. And Keaton felt rather uncomfortable around him, if not from the smoke, then because the sheer age he had on Keaton.
To avoid being caught probing the building, he put his phone away and pulled out his gun, fiddling with one, then the other, checking the magazines. Fifteen in one, nine in the other, plus five 15-piece magazines on his person. He would need to go print his new gun soon and plenty of ammunition to spare.

"Whoa that was trippy!" said Ace as he turns his back on the group and walks towards the edge and looks down at the city below. He can feel the strong breeze as he cherish that moment and decided put a cigarette in his mouth. Man this day never cease to amaze me. i like it!

"You know i can leave you guys anytime i want, considering the fact that I'm faster than anyone of yous" said the cocky speedster as he returns to the group "But i guess my curiosity got the best of me, so here i am." he shrugs his shoulder.

"'Im Ace by the way, manhole guy" as he lights his cigarette.

"so who are you my bartender friend?"

Alice looked over at the new arrivals from the swirling portal. A brown haired girl she immediately guessed to be Rebecca and, expecting her follower to have been Bryan's Grandfather, she was mildly surprised to see a blonde guy, who was definitely not grandfather age. She nodded with a brief smile as she was introduced to the two and let the conversation continue. At Allen's question, Alice looked to Nexus. Good question, why did I not think to ask it.

"Quiet type, huh?" Viktor said "Lucky you, I ain't one for talking. However need to ask you one thing. Why are you here? A young one like you shouldn't be fighting." Viktor said, keeping an eye on where he was pointing that gun. That also made Viktor wonder what weaponry these people had access to. It would do to upgrade his arsenal a bit, seeing as it was comprised of antiques currently. He would ask One of the higher ups about it once they got back.

Lux relaxed as relief washed over him. Just as he'd suspected, these people would let him go if he wanted to. However, he began to think more thoroughly about his situation. Given how I escaped, the police are probably still looking for me. I suppose there's safety in numbers, plus Sterling just offered me a rather high up position. The young man paced about the room for a minute, weighing his options. On the one hand, I have no idea what this organization is actually planning to do with the knowledge of the Pillar. But on the other hand, if they do figure it out, shouldn't I be here to help properly direct its use? Lux stopped pacing and turned to Cedric Sterling. "You have a deal, Mr. Sterling. But I think I'll take you up on that advisory role. There needs to be someone to speak on behalf of the Unawakened. It isn't that I don't trust you- it's that sometimes power can cause destructive oversights." Lux offered his hand to the man behind the desk. "So, what do you need me to do?"

"I've definitely got a few questions. Firstly, who are you three? Secondly, just what the f*** is going on? And lastly, is there any connection between what is going on and that Pillar that I was nearly hit by about one year ago when it busted out of the ground like nobody's business?"

Kenny then waited for the answers to his questions.

Anver pulled himself up the fire escape, climbing the ancient, rusty stairs and after a few flights finally coming to the very window he had used to escape that night so long ago.

He undid the locking mechanism on the window by pressing his palm to it, grateful that he had invested in outfitting the apartment with high-tech glassware. He pushed the window open and crawled inside, rolling off the sil and landing on the white sofa in his living room. he got up and closed the window behind him, pressing his palm against it to lock it shut once again. He took a few tentative steps inside... no one came to greet him. which meant the alarm system must be off; it was wired to signal an noise in the master bedroom encase of intruders, and then give the suite owner options as to whether the would like to get Emergency services involved...

Anver didn't let himself begin to jump to conclusions, maybe his wife Sandra and the kids just weren't home... he checked his watch...

Neither of the kids had school today... and Sandra worked out of home via the web as a consultant...she should've been here at this time of day...

He decided to try one last method...

The temperature all throughout the Suite this time of year was set to exactly 73 degrees farenheit. but when a person entered an area, their body heat radiates off them and gradually heats the area directly around them... it was subtle, but the increase was enough for someone like Anver to detect... he closed his eyes and focused... relying on a skill he had developed a while ago but hadn't thought to put to use for a while.

he could sense the static temperature field throughout the place, in everyroom. he directed himself to looking for any anomalies representative of someone's presence...

he shifted his sense to the master bedroom. nothing.... the kids bedrooms... nothing... the two bathrooms... nothing again... the loft space they used for storage...

Nothing...Sandra's home office space... same thing... his private study... nothing...He sensed the living room next...

but the only temperal anomaly he could sense was his own, which had it's own way of fluctuating wildly for some reason he had never determined. the only room left was the kitchen. he pulled out his glock and fitted the silencer back on it, poping out the clip with rubber bullets and replacing it with the old one filled with lead. he popped the safety off and loaded a single round into the chamber...

He began moving towards the entrance to the kitchen, his gun up in preparation to fire. He stepped onto the tiled floor before long, his steps echoing of the mahaugonhy shelves and pantry he stepped forward a little more, coming to a stop in front of the Marble island in the center of the room, looking around, and seeing nothing out of place... he let his arm drop to his side, his gun still in his hand.

"Where the hell did they go?" he asked himself, thoroughly perplexed.

((You know what to do from here...))

"I was offered a deal and it sounded good," Keaton replied. "Working with the joint that runs a nation is... Very involved. And I like that," he said simply. He noticed The Crimson Tide (CT) keep his eye on the gun. He squinted his eyes, wary of the man. "It's not too powerful a gun. The bullets are quite tiny and serve only to incapacitate without killing. It is legal, though."
He then got up, stretching, hoping to seem cool and firm to the CT. "I assume you're here for a reason?"

"I am here for one reason. To make sure my wife and kids are safe, nothing else." Viktor said. "And not afraid you are going to shoot kid, I figured out what your gun was before you even told me. I'm a solider, my guns are an extension of myself. I am pretty good at recognizing models and the makes of guns."

"To make sure my wife and kids are safe, nothing else," he reasoned. That seems respectable enough, Keaton thought. What impressed him more was the man's knowledge of the gun. He recognized it immediately, almost catching Keaton off guard. But he had to remain collected or the CT may have dirt on him.
He began stretching his arms. "Well, I'm an arms manufacturer. A... compliment to my father, who produced them in large quantity," he touched upon the topic, not wanting to tangle his father into this. "I'm not fluent with particular weapons, but my own guns are what I'm good with. Name's Keaton Aome."

Eugene cried out in pain and surprise when the man cut his arm. His swings started to get wilder as the fear of death overwhelmed him.

Suddenly there was a cry of pain and a crash. Eugene got startled and dropped his steel pipe. The darkness faded and the light blinded him for a second. He held his hands in a protective way in front of his eyes and saw a silhouette.

“Are you all right?” the man asked.

Eugene didn’t answer the question, but instead stepped slowly backwards. His eyes were fixated on the new arrival. This day couldn’t get any worse. Strange, powerful guys kept showing up trying to kill him. And the police was still looking for him. But this man just saved him from a certain death and didn’t seem hostile, but Eugene couldn’t be sure. For all he knew this one could be working for the government. “W-Who are y-you?” he stuttered.

"Still wondering how that portal works. I'm Allen, by the way."

Beetle was the one who answered his question.

"The portals are the work of Nexus. He could explain more, if you want details." He paused. "Though good luck getting him to say more than a few words.... Basically, we work in collaboration. You see, I can... communicate, for lack of a better word, with insects. It's more complicated than that, but that's besides the point. I always keep a few insects stationed by the monument there. Looking through their eyes, I can tell when somebody needs to get in. Then, I simply tell Nexus, and he opens the portals." He grinned. "There's no other way inside. We're completely underground." He stopped suddenly, looking a bit nervous. "But, um, don't think we're trapping you here. If you want to leave, just say the word." After a while, he looked up again with interest. "So Allen, what can you do?"

"So who are you my bartender friend?"

"I've definitely got a few questions. Firstly, who are you three? Secondly, just what the f*** is going on? And lastly, is there any connection between what is going on and that Pillar that I was nearly hit by about one year ago when it busted out of the ground like nobody's business?"

The bartender smiled and gave a nod.

"All very good questions. I suppose I'll address who I am, first. I work for an organization that seeks to gain access to the Pillar." He looked at Kenny. "I suppose this ties into your question as well. Within that organization, I am known as the Bartender, just as you have been calling me. I am here to offer you a position in that organization if you will agree to help us. It is completely up to you whether or not to join us. I will choose not to reveal my real name until I can trust you as members of the group." He paused. "Now as I've said, I do believe the Pillar ties into all of this. After all, it is the organization's main goal." He swept his gaze over the three. "Surely you all feel it. That overwhelming urge to go to the Pillar. However, you couldn't simply walk in alone, nor could you hope to fight your way through without significant backup. It would be suicidal, to say the least. That is why we have banded together to form this organization." He looked at Beverly now. "As for the means of transportation to get here, that is all thanks to Blue, another member of the organization. I had him bring us here not to be a villain, but to ensure my own safety. You see, Blue is the only means up or down from here, and I am the only one of us who knows his contact number. I do not know who you are or what you can do. Ace here is the only one I have any information on, and that is solely what he has chosen to tell me." He waved his hand dismissively. "But back to the main reason you are all here. Will you join us?"

It isn't that I don't trust you- it's that sometimes power can cause destructive oversights." Lux offered his hand to the man behind the desk. "So, what do you need me to do?"

Cedric Sterling gave a bright smile.

"Excellent! It is a great comfort to know that there will be someone watching me. I strive to be a great leader, and with you as my advisor, I feel there is not much I could overlook." He shook Lux's hand. "I have a task for you right now, actually. I'd like to hear your thoughts on our first major action. You see, there is to be a dinner party hosted by a government official tomorrow night. I have managed to snag a few invitations via my "business" contacts. But here is the important part:" he met Lux's eye. "There are rumors that this official is involved with the new government branch, BOA. Not much is known about the branch, save that they deal with the Awakened. As such, I find it logical that they would also be privy to information about the Pillar. Our goal is to attend this party, speak with this official, and look for any information we could gain about the Pillar. If done properly, we should be able to get in or out without any trouble. And if by chance we do not find anything, we have not suffered any losses. What do you think?"

"Where the hell did they go?"

There was a quiet chuckling from behind Anver. He spun around to see a man in a white coat and pants, stride into the room. The man had long blond hair that fell behind his shoulders and to the sides of his face. His eyes bore a cunning and intelligent expression from behind his glasses. The man spoke in a taunting voice.

"Are you looking for someone? I'm afraid there is nobody here save for us two." He looked at the gun. "If you value the lives of your family, I would not recommend using any sort of force against me. Cooperate, and they will be unharmed." The man laughed, knowing that he held the power. "I come from a group called Utopia, a group you have so generously agreed to assist. You will help us eradicate those who would hold back the Awakened, using the power that the Pillar must hold." He paused, a wicked grin on his face as he looked at Anver. Now, you can see the logic in helping us, correct? You wouldn't be so reckless as to decline my generous offer..."

There was a knock on the door of the lobby room. After a few seconds, Poseidon strode through. He spoke in the same businesslike voice as before.

"Ms. Archer will see them now." He motioned to Viktor. "You will come first."

He led Viktor outside and into the larger building. Zeus and Keaton followed behind. They walked through narrow halls, passing many closed doors along the way. They took the elevator, where Poseidon took them to the uppermost floor. As the doors opened, they found themselves in a narrow hallway. The walls on either side were made completely of glass, allowing the sunlight to stream through, giving a view of the city from above. There was only one door at the very end of the hallway. Poseidon led Viktor towards the door, while Zeus and Keaton waited outside the elevator. Viktor was ushered through, finding himself in an office. To the left was a desk, a single chair placed in front, while a woman sat behind it, who he could only guess to be Ms. Archer. She had her dark brown hair tied up in a bun and wore formal business attire.

"Viktor Grimes," the woman stated, looking at the papers on her desk. "Former SWAT Team member. Discharged after your entire squad was killed under your supervision." She looked up, meeting his eyes. "Correct?" She pushed the papers aside. "That incident is irrelevant now. Prove your dedication here, and all past errors shall be forgotten." She paused. "I have heard that you are one of these "Awakened", as they have taken to calling themselves. I suppose my first matter of inquisition will be here. Tell me, what exactly can you do? Do you feel any different having gained these powers?"

“W-Who are y-you?”

The man gave a warm smile.

"A friend. Though if you seek more specific answers, my name is Lawrence White." He gave eugene a troubled look. "Why was this man attacking you? It is clear he is gifted, as am I. However, I do not find reason to attack strangers. Do you know him?"

Anver ground his teeth a little as he listened to the intruder's ultimatum...

"I come from a group called Utopia, a group you have so generously agreed to assist. You will help us eradicate those who would hold back the Awakened, using the power that the Pillar must hold."

this couldn't help but make Anver think

What is he talking about, I never agreed to assist any group called "Utopia"...hell, I never even heard the name before now...

the one thing Anver wanted to do most was raise his Glock and just open fire into this kidnapper until the clip was empty or the silencer simply wore out... but if what the man had said was true... Anver couldn't read the guy's face for any bluffs... he had no way of knowing whether or not he was lying to him...

He put his glock on the counter and popped out the clip, placing it beside the weapon on the pure white marble surface... his anger rising though he made sure not to show any of it, no need to give this bastard any more power over the situation than he already had.

He was infuriated at himself that he hadn't been able to stop this... to somehow be here to protect them... as a husband and a father, that had been his duty, and yet he had failed, off God knows where while his family was being abducted...

but he had even more anger for the man standing before him, his arrogance irritating Anver. but he could not act on his emotions... if he did...

He knew there was the very real chance he'd have no family at all...

Anver chuckled a little despite his brown eyes growing stormy as he struggled to keep himself from causing a wild temperature shift corresponding to his emotions. he did his best to give off a calm demeanor

"Fine..." he said simply

"You hold all the cards right now. my wife and children's lives hang in the balance."

but even as he said this, he swore a silent vow mentally

I don't know who you are...

I don't know what you really want by "Getting rid of those who hold the Awakened back"...

You want my help? Fine....

But I'm only going along with it until I get the right opportunity...

and when I do get that opportunity...

I will free my family...

I will ensure their safety...

and after I have done that...

I will bring the wrath of an enraged Father and Husband down upon you...

and I will kill each and every last one of you MotherF*****s

He looked the blonde haired man in the eyes, not giving any hints as to the silent Rage beginning to build in the depths of his soul

"I have no choice but to assist your group... what type of man would not with so much he held dear at stake...?"

huh. there's more of us than just us five out there. well, safety in numbers.

"I'm definitely joining your cause. I'm Kenny, and what i've discovered so far of my powers is Manipulation of Electromagnetic fields given off by living things. I've only been able to create a Barrier around myself or create a short-ranged Sphere or Beam using those fields, however. Would you like me to show you what i mean right now, wait until we get back to base to demonstrate, or should i not show my Powers until they're needed?"

"Perhaps I should show you, it isn't a power that can easily be explained. However certain aspects of it are dangerous, others are not." he said as he pulled a small knife, he cut his wrist enough that it would bleed. He pulled out a cross made of iron. He focused, part of it disappearing, while the wound quickly started to clot. "I can control other's and my own blood. I could for instance reach out and clot every major blood vessel to your Brain, causing you too die. However, it would most likely heavily wound me." VIktor had a morose look on his face. "It has changed me, knowing I can reach out and kill anyone I want to, or save anyone I want to. But it has changed me more to know, that I can never see my family again because I am a monster. I will work with you and your people, but only so long as they are safe, especially from myself."
