Once Ace was do being a show off the man Cedric Sterling looked at Beverly expectantly.

With a heavy sigh Beverly beings to speak "Well if this is show and tell I can tell but not show. As I explained to Mr. Bartender and the others as far as I can figure out my power lets me change the memories of a person, though only for the last ten minutes and I need direct skin contact. I can only do it about three time with in an hour or so or I get unstable. Though i think i forgot to mention to them was that my power only works once per person. So unless some one is willing to have there memories messed with I can't really show it and I rather not for I have lost track of how many times I have used it and I rather not end up unstable for a bit." She finished a bit grumpy sounding like she didn't want to explain it again.

Cassidy didn't say a word as Zwiess explained himself and his organization to her. His spiel was interesting, but nothing much to her. Seemed like he wanted her to join him in bettering the world. A pointless goal to say the least. And besides, she had her own plans for the world.
"Well good for you." She said drily, "But I don't see what any of your 'Utopia' has to do with me."
The girl though, Kiri, Cassidy was still interested in her. Her voice was monotone, no emotion spilt from it. Cassidy had never heard a more beautiful sound. She felt a twang of jealousy rising in her stomach, but quickly quelled it. There was no point in wishing for more than one could already possess. Best to concentrate on things that could be changed, rather than whining about what could not. She turned her full attention to the girl.
"Hello, Kiri." She said cautiously.
It wasn't beyond her that Kiri was still with this Utopia, she might try to use Cassidy's interest in her as leverage to try to get her to join. Best not to dwell on it for now though, there was no way some naive world-betterer like Zweiss was going to pull one over on Cassidy Willows.

The Bartender nodded, turning to Lux and extending a hand. He spoke in a deep voice. "It's nice to meet you. Hopefully we will have a chance to get better acquainted later.

Lux nodded at the other man in acknowledgement and grasped his hand, giving it a businesslike shake. "Likewise. I'm sure we'll have a lot to discuss before we get started with looking for the pillar." Lux then turned his attention to the new recruits. The first to appear was a grungy looking man with headphones and red hair. A loose cannon. We're going to have to use money or otherwise to keep him interested in our cause. Otherwise, he could end up against us just as quickly as he arrived here. Next, he examined the other two arrivals. There was a young man who was pretty close in age to Lux. He looks confused. He probably hasn't fully discovered the potential of his power yet. But he wouldn't be here unless it were of interest to us, so I'll just wait and see. The only one of them he couldn't read was the Asian girl. She's pretty cute. But now's not the time for that. The young man watched closely as they were asked to demonstrate their powers.

Lux grinned and chuckled lightly. A speedster and Goku from Dragonball? Is this a freakin' comic book? he thought to himself, laughing quietly all the while. He then stepped forward and motioned for the other two recruits to step back. "This sunlight's a little stale, but I'm sure you'll get the basic idea." Lux raised his arm and pointed his index finger at the wall and his thumb at the sky, like he meant to pretend to shoot one of them. He remained calm as a focused yellow ray of light quickly appeared between his fingers and the rapidly growing char mark on the concrete wall. Lux turned to the others and smiled. "We're Awakened as well. Welcome to the party."

Ace raise his brow as Lux approaches and fires away a beam of light. "Whoa there sunshine! you could put an eye out with that." said Ace to his surprise as he looks at the char mark on the wall. As usual Ace open his big yap once more, "So your name is Lux? right? the first mate of this joint or so i've heard. so what's the goal of this organization? an orphanage for freaks?" as Ace toss Cedric's watch to Lux hoping that he will catch it.

Lux snatched the watch out of the air, shaking his head at the recruit's cocky attitude. Given his power, that may be well-deserved confidence, Lux thought to himself. But there's still nothing faster than light. He finally looked up at the loudmouth addressing him. Now that I'm a member of The Organization, I should probably choose an alias. What sounds awesome and has to do with light...? He put his hand on his chin in thought, then snapped his fingers. "You can call me Photon. This Organization, as far as I know, seeks to uncover the secrets of The Pillar. I know you two feel that inexplicable urge to go to it as well. All us Awakened do. And so long as you help us toward these ends, I suppose you could say we'd be 'adopting' you." Lux turned to Cedric, making sure he'd covered everything important.

"Photon? well whatever floats your boat man. I'm Ace by the way or you can call me the Human jet or something i don't really care. as long this organization interest me, i'll stay. because the last time i got attach to something i lost a part of me." Ace tone seems to change as he sighed.

"well as for the pillar, it ain't going nowhere, so i guess i have all the time in the world."

Ace pulls out a cigarette from his pocket and put it in his mouth "care to light it up?" he jokingly said to Lux as he walks away from the group to take a smoke.

"...know that if anything may go wrong concerning me or Utopia, your family's life hangs in the balance. Keep that in mind."

The Air around Anver rose a few degrees when he heard that last little remark, but he said nothing as Alister exited the room.

Now alone, He went over to the table and picked the "Bartender" profile, actually taking a serious look at it this time. he tucked it under his arm after a few minutes, knowing from the summary of the man's ability in the profile that he could probably take this man out easily if it came to an all-out duel with their powers... but Anver had decided it would be best to dispatch the Bartender with a stealthier method...

maybe wait till the party's over... then force a rag of chloroform under the guy's nose as he left and drag him to a dark alley... finish him off with a shot to the temple and then burn the body to the point where there would be no evidence...

though the fire part might be a bit tricky, what with the tendency of Human flesh to give off a certain attention grabbing scent when it burned...

he shook his head, a bit ashamed of himself

Look at me... He thought

Thinking this through like I'm a professional hit-man or something...

But he forced the feelings of shame away.

But damn it... if this guy doesn't die by my hands tomorrow... then my family will die by the hands of whoever these people in "Utopia" are...

He went back to thinking it out, what he'd do...

sitting down at the table, He took out his Glock and placed it on the surface along with the silencer and spare clips, then he took out the rag and bottle of chloroform Allen had given him... as he retreived these things from his pocket, a burner phone he'd been carrying fell out onto the floor. he bent down to get it... then paused...maybe he could send out a call to allen... tell him whats going on... get him to start digging into the network of people they both knew in order to find out just who the hell "Utopia" was, what they wanted...

He decided he'd do it... but not right now... not from this location, where they could easily track any communication if they had the equipment to do it...

He'd have to wait for tomorrow night. he collected his tiny arsenal back into his Blazer, then got up from the chair, heading into the room with the beds that Alister had pointed out. he sat down on a vacant bed, knowing that this night, he would not sleep... this night, he would plan.

it was gonna be a long night... and so Anver got to work.

Cedric nodded approvingly as each recruit displayed their power.

"That Barrier saved me from a Foul Ball that was headed right at me in a Baseball Game."

He gave a light chuckle at the remark. "Seems an sensible use for such power," he commented. He could barely notice the next recruit's power, but saw that the man had taken his watch.

"Such speed..." he thought. "That man could prove useful..."

But it was the third recruit that really struck him. As soon as she stated that she could alter a person's memory, Cedric turned to Lux. He was about to comment on the fact, but decided they could talk once the group was finished. He listened to Lux speak with the other recruit, calling himself Photon.

"Photon, eh? I was going to suggest that he take a codename, and it's fairly fitting... It's reminiscent of the hero that he wants to become."

He retrieved his watch from Lux -- no, Photon, after he explained the basic goal of the Organization to the recruits.

"Thank you kindly," he said as he took the watch, "and I couldn't have explained us better myself." He turned to the recruits. "We are not a strict group. You will have freedom, safety, and a home of sorts while you are here, though there will be times when we will call upon you for assistance. These are the terms of our little agreement." He paused, looking them over. "Now, I don't believe I have your names yet, save for Ace."

He turned to Lux. "It seems we have chanced upon our memory restucturing..." he whispered. "I'd almost claim it to be fate, if I believed in such a thing."

"I assume you have an armory around this place somewhere. My pieces are a bit outdated, need some new kit. I can't willy nilly throw my power around, it was real costs to me and everyone around, so it is Important I have good equipment."

Poseidon nodded brusquely. "You would assume correctly. We are allowed use of BOA's armory, though we have chosen not to make use of it ourselves. I will take you there when the interview is finished," he said, motioning towards the office.

Arkhidon

"Yes, that is my name. And no, I wasn't always so quick-witted as I find myself now. Though, this new transformation is linked to The Pillar that rose recently. Between the time it was erected, my father's arrest, and my allure to the entity itself, I cannot think of any other reason. The Pillar changed me."

Lydia Archer nodded as he spoke. "I see," she said simply. She paused for a while, looking through the papers on her desk again. After a while, she spoke again. "Well, such problem solving skills would certainly prove useful. Perhaps I will have you demonstrate them in a test of sorts..." she mumbled, before interupting herself. "Another time. For now, let us finish this interview." She met his eye. "If I am to offer you a position here, do you have any preferences as to where you work? I can put you in research and development, assign you a place among BOA, our newest group, or see if Olympus would have you. Perhaps you could do some of each, working in our labs as you see fit, and going on missions when we require your talents. What do you say?"

"Hello, Kiri."

Kiri gave no response, simply retreating behind Zweiss once more. Zweiss watched her for a moment before returning his gaze to Cassidy.

"Well," he said, looking to Jude, "I suppose we should get going." He turned to Cassidy again. "I would suggest you do the same. I'm afraid I won't be holding these men down forever." He turned and began to walk back the way he came, Kiri trailing behind him. Actually, he could simply increase the pressure and end them all. However, he felt that such things were unnecessary at times like this. He looked over his shoulder at Jude to see what the man was doing.

Cassidy was unsurprised at Kiri's lack of response, it seemed more natural to her than attempting to start a conversation. Her mind floated back to the man at the school, that was three. Three, and Zwiess wanted to leave several more.

"Would you mind holding them down for just a bit longer? There's too many for me to handle them all at once." She asked.

Without waiting for an answer, she walked over to the nearest policeman. She concentrated on him, forcing his mind open. His eyes started to widen in terror as the hallucinations began. He was a strong man, Cassidy wouldn't be able to kill him, but at the very least he would only remember her as part of a nightmare. He began screaming and struggled to move his arms in front of his face, then he passed out. That would suffice. She moved on to the next, a frightful young woman, likely she was fairly new to her job. Cassidy began work on her and another weak looking one not too far away. It took only a few moments of screaming and struggling before they both fell silent. The woman appeared dead, and the man was unconscious. She was quickly beginning to understand these people's minds, they were all similar. All had strong discipline ingrained into them. She felt confident that she could do a larger group now. She concentrated on the whole of them together, closing her eyes and clearing away her emotions. She felt no guilt, no joy, nothing. Shrieks of terror began escaping some of them, and someone came out of the house, Cassidy added them to her nightmare. At this point she couldn't feel anything outside the storm of terror she was creating. She faded into the nightmare herself, looking around. There were several dead, and most passed out. Only a few more and they would all either be dead or asleep.

She opened her eyes and retracted her influence as the last fell.Silence reigned in the night once more. She'd done this before, though not quite on this scale. The news had called her a "mysterious mass hallucination. Capable of causing severe mental harm, or even death." She found it amusing that, despite several of her victims describing her, they hadn't connected her to the crime. Of course, who would think a little girl was capable of mass murder? Cassidy grinned devilishly and turned around, checking to see if Zwiess and the others were still there. Her grin quickly faded, but an observant watcher could see just the hint of it as she finished her turn.

A test, she said? That intrigued him. Though, it may have been his imagination making her say things. Regardless, he was faced with a choice: R&D, BOA, or Olympus. Keaton grinned, knowing what to choose.

"I'd like to work in research and development. The principles of function are vital to understanding anything. And knowledge is power, after all," he said, his eyes shining the way they do when he was excited about something. "What will be the focus of the research? Or is that to discover once I'm there?"

He paused, not wanting to skip out on the other offers. "I suppose I'll work in the other areas if the labs are busy," Keaton said, trying not to disregard the other options. This will be a good change of pace, he thought, smiling back at Zeus.

Anver finally lay down on the bed, resting his head on the pillow.

He had it all planed out... he'd call Allen with his request for information as soon as he was no longer in the company of anyone from this place who might be tagging along...

and as for the bartender, Anver decided he'd stay within earshot of the guy throughout the length of the party, but always far enough away to where one would have to know he was there to be able to find him in the crowd. he'd keep a constant vigil on his location using the Thermal sense he had developed and used at the apartment a few hours ago...

if this guy had the power of Thermo-kinesis like Anver did, then chances are that his own thermal signature would fluctuate constantly or have some abnormalitiy, just as Anver sensed his own did. he'd keep locked onto that the whole night, then when the party ended, Anver would follow him out of the building and kill him with a silenced shot to the base of the neck as soon as he was in a relatively secluded area or a vacant street...

Though, the last part was assuming the guy would be walking home or back to where ever this other group against Utopia operated... and so Anver had a back up in case the Bartender travelled by car...he'd super heat the air in all four tires to the point where they would expand so much that they popped leaks and went flat...

He'd have to improvise from there though... in that case-scenario, it really all depended on how the Bartender re-acted to the tires of his car suddenly popping.

Satisfied that he at least had a somewhat thought out plan, he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep... knowing he'd barely get a few hours worth since morning would be here soon.

Jude nodded as Zweiss made his move to leave. While Jude couldn't be too sure of the man's power, he was sure of the move he was making. The girl pleaded for him to hold on a while longer, then suddenly one of the men began to scream.

Jude staggered back as more and more of the police officers began screaming. It was as if God himself was bringing down his divine justice among these men. They had planned to slaughter this girl, and now here they were experiencing there own personal hell.

Jude sat and watched as it unfolded, men began screaming. Then suddenly they stopped, dropping dead on the ground. A grin formed on Jude's grizzled face as she finished up. This girl was truly blessed. He turned to her and gave her an obvious look of approval. Then turned to the officers. "We'll have to check for survivors, it won't do to have these demons go back and report to their superior." He then turned and began indiscriminately slashing the necks of whichever police officers were closest. Not bothering to check whether they were alive or dead.

Eugene felt tired when they finally reached the forest. He wasn’t paying much attention where they were going, when suddenly a portal appeared. Eugene watched as the man went through, closed his eyes, and followed. He wasn’t certain he did the right thing, but he didn’t have the energy to find a safe place on his own.

When he opened his eyes again he saw a small room filled with people. Apparently there were more newcomers and when one of the men explained the room situation, Lawrence offered his room to Eugene. The teenager nodded, stayed close to the wall as to avoid the others, found the staircase and went to Lawrence’s room. He quickly shut the door behind him and walked towards the bed without really taking in his new environment. As soon as he laid down on the bed, Eugene fell asleep.

(OOC: So, debated doing this or not. Decided that Flux probs wants to move things along, so Ima go ahead and do a Cassidy thought post)

Cassidy resisted the urge to put her face in her hands. Did this man have no concept of anonymity? Cassidy had no qualm with killing these people, but cutting their throats meant that it would be tied to a person, rather than a freak accident. Someone would look into it, they'd find some pattern, spot all the common factors, and then track Cassidy down. She watched helplessly as Jude went about destroying her cover without a second thought. She wanted to be angry, or frightened, or just something, but she stayed calm. It was too late to change things, better to start on a solution. For now that solution seemed to be finding someone stronger than her, and leeching off them until she was strong enough to end them. And it seemed that someone had presented themselves to her. And they were more than just one someone, a whole group of someones. And even better, in Cassidy's eyes, they owed her a debt.

All reservations were gone, Cassidy would go with this Zwiess to his Utopia. And she would bring Hell in her wake.

(OOC: I get the feeling she's being a bit over-ambitious...)

"It seems we have chanced upon our memory restucturing..." he whispered. "I'd almost claim it to be fate, if I believed in such a thing."

Lux nodded at Cedric's observation. Their discovery of the girl had proven quite serendipitous, and having a speedster like Ace on their task force could only serve to benefit their cause. He looked at Beverly and Kenny again. These three will do nicely, although I don't think the Organization would discriminate so heavily when we can use all the help we can get. "Beverly, you haven't the foggiest idea of how happy we are to make your acquaintance. We're going to be needing your help much sooner than you could have ever known." The young man then turned to his new boss. "I'd like to see what other resources we have available. I haven't exactly been given the grand tour of the place yet."

Zweiss stood where he was and watched as Cassidy and Jude slaughtered the policemen. If they had been watching, they make have seen a hint of a frown appear on his face. But of course, they were not. When Jude had finished, Zweiss turned on his heel and began to walk again, Kiri following behind. Without looking back, he called out to Jude.

"We're heading back to base now. I'll decide a task for you once we get there." He paused for a moment. "And you... Cassidy. I'd suggest you flee the scene, if the idea hasn't struck you already. There's bound to be reinforcements on the way."

"What will be the focus of the research? Or is that to discover once I'm there? I suppose I'll work in the other areas if the labs are busy."

Ms. Archer clasped her hands. The projects you work on will depend on your skillset. We'll need to get a better grasp on just what that skillset is later. For now, you will have some free time, during which you can pursue your own projects. If something comes up, I'll be sure to let you know."

She turned her gaze to the papers on her desk and motioned to Zeus. He stood from where he was leaning and walked over to Keaton.

"Looks like you're done," he said with a smile. "Welcome to the government."

"I'd like to see what other resources we have available. I haven't exactly been given the grand tour of the place yet."

Cedric nodded at the suggestion. "Of course." He motioned to the others who had assembled. "Seeing how you are all new here as well, I'll give everybody the tour at the same time."

He led the group back towards the elevator. As they approached, he began to speak.

"The room we are in now is a training room of sorts. It may be bare now, but I'm about to take you to the storage room. There are all manner of things that you may use to practice and hone your ability."

As they entered the elevator, the group could see that they were on floor B2. Cedric pushed the button for B1. The elevator lurched as it began to move, stopping soon after. The doors opened, but it was difficult to see due to a lack of light. The group could see Cedric's shape reach a hand to the wall and flick a switch. The lights came to life, shining over a room filled with targets, balls, hoops, and much more. Cedric swept a hand across the room.

"Feel free to use anything you may find here. All of these items are for the sole purpose of training."

(((OOC: I'll leave it up to you what you find in here at any point that you may be here. If you need something, and it's reasonable that it would be there, go for it. I don't have anything specific in mind.)))

He let them look around for a while, before leading them back into the elevator. He pushed the button for the ground floor. They arrived at the front lobby of the building. The front desk was empty, but showed signs that someone had been working there. Large glass windows were built into all of the walls, allowing the last light from the setting sun to shine through. Looking straight ahead, there was a rotating glass door at the front. Cedric began to speak again.

"If you need to leave, this is the way to go. The doors will lead you right into the street, at the heart of New York City." He motioned to the elevator. "I'll just describe to you the rest of the building, as there isn't much to show. The second floor is office space, where many members are stationed during the day, including myself. If you need me, look there first. My office is the farthest down the hallway. Finally, the third floor has been adapted into bedrooms. You may stay here if you wish, or stay elsewhere if that is your preference. Simply follow the hall to a room. All of them past 32 should be empty."

With that, he strode to the elevator and took it back to his office, leaving the rest of the night to them.

"Welcome to the government," Zeus said. Keaton couldn't help but smile. He wanted to act, to celebrate, or something, but not in such a professional environment. He turned the Ms. Archer. "Thank you." The young man went out back into the glass hallway, grinning at Viktor.

"Well if you guys don't need me anymore tonight, I am going to find a room to rest so you can find me there if you need me. I have been running all night and I am tired. So umm...have a good night." Beverly said with a smile well walking away.

Taking the elevator up to the third floor and walking down the hall past room 32 looking for a number that she liked finally picking the room 41. The room was empty for save for a bed, a desk, a char and a dresser and a few empty shelves.

"Well it looks like this will be the place i am staying for now. Might as well make my self at home. Hmm.. should of asked that Cedric fellow if there was a shower and a restroom somewhere i need to clean up a little bit." Beverly thought to her self as she sat on the bed.

Anver awoke early the next morning, his eyes opening to glimpse upward at the darkened ceiling in the room. he sat up on the bed, swinging his legs over to hang off the side of it. he stood up lazily and stretched, glancing around at the room as he felt a pang of hunger in his stomach... thinking back on it now, he realized he hadn't eaten anything since noon yesterday. he walked out of the sleeping quarters, entering back into the room where the man named Alister had given him the hit mission on the Bartender. he looked around the place and the various doors leading off from it...

Come on... I know these people have a kitchen somewhere in this place... he thought to himself absentmindedly as he walked over to one of the doors; the one that Alister had walked through after they had finished talking last night, and tried the door knob...

((I will leave whether or not it is locked to you, Flux))

Hukuna and Arkhidon

Poseidon stepped in on the conversation between the two recruits. He spoke in his businesslike voice, cutting straight to the heart of things.

"I will show you both to the armory now, as promised," he said, looking at Viktor. He turned and strode to the elevator, Zeus and the other two following behind. They stopped at the ground floor, where Zeus exited. He turned around as he walked out, giving Keaton a smile and a wave.

"Good luck in R&D," he said, before walking away. The doors closed, and Poseidon took the pair to B2. As the doors opened, they were greeted by a short walkway that ended in a steel door, with no apparent handles. There was a panel on the wall with a small square space and a number pad. Poseidon placed a hand on the square space, which lit up green as it scanned his open hand. After a few seconds, a noise of confirmation sounded, and the number pad lit up. He walked close to the pad, obscuring the view from the other two and quickly entered a number. The doors hummed as they slid open, revealing a wall filled with all manner of tools. There were assault rifles, sniper rifles, handguns, tasers, shotguns, RPGs; pretty much any weaponry either of them could want. It showed just how many privileges there were to working directly from the government in a base like this. There were a few items the duo did not recognize as well. Poseidon pointed a few of them out. He grabbed a small machine from a side shelf. It was circular in shape, about the size of a man's palm. The top and bottom were flat. There was a large lens in the front, and six holes on either side. Poseidon pushed a button on the bottom, and six spider-like legs sprouted from the holes. He set it on the ground and grabbed a control from the same shelf. It was mostly filled by a screen, which came to life at the press of a button. It appeared to show the robot's view.

"Spy droids," he said simply, as he moved the machine across the room. "A recently passed prototype. They're very useful for gathering info before infiltration -- not that we've had much use for them yet."

He returned the droid and control to the shelf and grabbed a few of the other less-familiar items. He explained about a small device that drilled through steel, a laser weapon prototype, and other, more combat-focused droids.

"The wonders of modern technology," he stated, before turning to Keaton. "This is some of the work they do in R&D."

The door swung open, leading Anver into the early morning daylight. The trail ahead led to the road, while a vast forest stretched to the other sides of the cabin.

So many guns, so little time. Which to choose? Most definitely a Sniper Rifle, I was one of the Sniper's in the Swat team I led. Now other weaponry, definitely a sidearm, most likely a six shooter, mostly for style points. Viktor though to himself as he eyed over the selection of weaponry. He had picked a rather heavy Sniper Rifle for the shelf, anti-material, more for disabling tanks, but also could fire through walls. A Rather useful feature for a tactician such as himself. He also took a rather promising Six-shooter, Black Gun Metal. He also took 2 newer Uzi models, replacing his old beat up antiques. Next he worked his way over to the other types of gear. He took 3 combat knives, a grenade, and a few trip mines. "Ah, can never have enough gear." he said, reveling in all the new kit he just acquired.

Alice glanced around at the people in the room, she gave a somewhat awkward but grateful smile. "Thank you again for letting us stay with you guys, I suppose we could all talk in the morning." With that, she picked up her backpack and exited downstairs, entering her new temporary room.

She tossed her bag near the foot of the bed . Laughing faintly to herself as she took off her boots and undid her ponytail, letting it fan out as she sat on the bed. It was a certain type of drowsiness that hit her. She was well awake in one sense and yet half asleep in another. It was particularly annoying, she knew that if she tried to sleep she would only lay down for an hour with her eyes closed before opening her eyes and reading for the rest of the night. Deciding that this was a good time to play around with what she could do, she held out her hand.

Focusing, Alice watched as a small ball appeared in her hand, sensing a slight drain on her body. When ever she played around with her energy manipulation, it heightened her senses in a way. It allowed her to see but not technically see energy that is scattered about. Through her eyes, when she was manipulating something, she could sort of see a faint glow around it, although, apparently no one else but her could see it. Closing her hand, the ball disappeared. She played around for a while, trying to maintain her concentration for as long as she could before letting it disperse, eventually falling into deep sleep.
