The Awakened - First Pillar (IC Thread)

Anver stood in what was apparently the front door of the cabin, looking out at the trail leading down to the road below. the bastards left me here... he thought to himself as he walked out of the cabin and down the dirt trail, stopping when he got to the road. like this is some sort of Exile... though, not like I could really consider running away if they hadn't done this... they'd still have my family as leverage... he glanced up and down the road, not seeing anything but trees and asphalt and grass and dirt... no other signs of civilization...

knowing that there was a good chance his theory that they'd gotten back in their car and had left him here after talking last night was more than likely true, he turned back to the cabin, making his way back up the trail as he took a burner phone out of his pocket, the same one that had fallen out last night while he was taking inventory of his supplies... it was one of the more higher end models of burner phones, equip with a touch screen and camera, but was powered by disposable batteries. he hit the call button on the screen, bringing up the keypad on the phone. he tapped in Alan's mobile number, holding the phone up to his ear as it began ringing. by the time he got back to the cabin's door a few minutes later, it was still ringing, then finally an electronic voice sounded from the phone's ear piece:

"No service available"

Cursing silently under his breath, he powered the burner off, stowing it back in his blazer pocket as he re-entered the Cabin, staring around at the room with the table... there were still a few other doors to try... it only made sense that there should be a kitchen or some type of food storage here... as far away as it was from civilization, it would be highly impractical for there not to be one. he walked over to another door, this one opposite the front door, and turned the knob, pushing in on it.

((Flux, Just let me know if you just want me to continue off in the cabin on my own and I'll edit more into this))

Viktor headed straight for the guns, packing more than any person should be able to carry. Yet he was able to heave it all. Inversely, Keaton went towards the gadgets on the wall, his eyes caught by the laser weapon prototype. Viktor wasn't scolded when he reached for the guns, so it should be the same for the gadgets. He grabbed the laser weapon, turning it around in his hand.

He went to the droids, grabbing the controller to one of the Spy Droids and observed the nonliving creature. It was a good size, but could make better use of the area between the holes. If those were condensed- and it looked like they could be- then more room could be made for additional microchips and weaponry. Though unwilling to point this out, Keaton put the controller back and browsed the handguns. Large weaponry wasn't his style. Why take the burden of bigger guns when handguns and small firearms could do that?
He pulled out an advanced model of the Beretta BU9 Nano, complete with green-lit iron sights and what seemed like a smaller barrel, allowing smaller bullet shells and greater shots per magazine: about sixteen shots, maybe? This and the laser would be his weapon. His second, anyway, to any gadgets he could get his hands on.

"I'd love to." Cassidy said dryly, "But suddenly I've slit some throats."

She tossed an angry glare at Jude as she said this, allowing him a slight glimpse of her mind alongside it. Nothing Then she started walking after Zwiess.

"Until now, I've been a strange but natural phenomenon. Now, thanks to your man here, I'm a serial killer. Every one of the people I effect has a chance of seeing me. Previously, my face was a common symptom commonly overlooked, I assume due to people not expecting a little girl to be in possession of hallucinogenics. Now the authorities will look back, searching for a source. They'll look for all the common factors, and my face will turn up. I'm in databases since I'm a runaway, they will find me. Seeing as it's your man who has me in this predicament, I'd like to hear your solution."

For such a young girl, Cassidy certainly knew how to construct a trap. Not that she wasn't convinced this was Zwiess's plan all along. Clearly he had come looking for her this night, just as the police had. She had something he wanted, she was certain of it. What that was, she couldn't say. But for the moment, it seemed he had the upper hand. She needed him to survive, while he had resources to find whoever or whatever he wanted. She may have trapped him into letting her along, but it seemed he'd trapped her into wanting along in the first place.

(OOC: I'm debating whether this is just Cassidy viewing the world as against her, or if Zwiess is actually up to something. Hmm... owo)

Hukuna and Arkhidon

Poseidon stood by the door as the two armed themselves. After watching for a while and seeing that they had looked at most of what interested them, he moved from the doorway.

"If that is all, I can take you to your places now. Keaton will be shown to R&D, while Viktor will return to Olympus with me. Housing is left up to you. You need not fear to show yourself in public any longer. Your names and faces are removed from any interest lists. You are now under government protection."

Zweiss stared at Cassidy for a long while, showing no emotion as he did so. After a while, he spoke again.

"My man... and his fault..." he muttered. A small smile came over his face.

"I seem to remember attempting to leave here with every one of these policemen alive. It was you who attacked them. The consequences of such an action are left to you."

He paused, a serious look on his face.

"Do you now realize the weight of what you've done? The weight of what I must do? It is a burden -- perhaps too much of a burden for a young girl such as yourself to carry..."

Cassidy resisted letting herself become angry. Zwiess didn't know her predicament, he couldn't understand her.

"I killed them in an untraceable manner, something seen as a freak of nature. Jude here killed them in a way that made it obvious it was murder." She said, trying to stay calm and failing, "I'm caught now. As I would have been if I'd left them alive."

It was true, if she'd done nothing, the officers would have known who she was, they could have easily recalled her face and come after her, maybe even connected her to her previous murders. Not like she needed an excuse to kill them. She found herself calming now, her raging fury turning cold and calculated. Her eyes focused inward, seeming deeper and duller than normal. The weight of what she had done?

"I killed a few people, nothing special." She said flatly, "I do it all the time, as a defense mechanism and to grow my skills. And I have no idea what you have to do. Your weights are of no concern to me, it's not like you can carry them dead."

It wasn't unusual for Cassidy to toss about thinly veiled threats, she'd been doing it since she was seven. And it was equally common for her to outright state her intents without a care for who heard her.

"Unfortunately, I can't kill you, yet. Though I would not be shocked in the slightest if you were to do so to me." She said.

Her words were becoming more monotone every moment, she felt her body feeling emptier and emptier. She felt so strong. And yet, she knew that Zweiss was still stronger. It sickened her to be this weak. All she want was to kill them all, her body filled up again, frozen with hatred. She found herself incapable of moving. Standing there, her eyes focused on Zwiess. All the depths of her hate were trained on him, but she held back from releasing them. Right now, she needed him. As much as she wanted him gone, she couldn't remove him. She let her hatred drain.

Jude let out a soft smile as the girl spoke. Her words towards Zweiss, some about himself, were full of vinegar. But, her stare? That was true hatred, hatred which he assumed, Zweiss had every intention of utilizing. Her turned to Zweiss, fully ignoring the girl for the moment, "Is she really worth our time? It is true that she is one of the lord's sacred children, blessed by his light." He paused for a moment,, "But, her gift is... weak, unpolished, perhaps better fit in a low end horror movie." He looked at Cassidy full on now, his face showed no signs of fear, happiness, or sadness. It showed but one emotion. Pure, unadulterated ferocity. "Perhaps it would be best if you ran girl, those who fear worms such as these pathetic unawakened have no place doing the true work of the lord."

He turned and started to walk away. He'd hope that he'd seen right. The girl had vigor, a yearning for strength. She just lacked understanding. Understanding of the lords true message, that the awakened were here to cleanse this world and build a true Utopia. Zweiss understood that and that is why Jude would follow him. His gift was the strongest Jude had ever seen. It was clear that he was God's truest messenger and Jude as he had sworn to the lord himself, would be his right hand.

"Unfortunately, I can't kill you, yet. Though I would not be shocked in the slightest if you were to do so to me."

Zweiss gave no reaction to the comment. He listened to Jude's words as he spoke.

"Is she really worth our time? It is true that she is one of the lord's sacred children, blessed by his light. But, her gift is... weak, unpolished, perhaps better fit in a low end horror movie."

It seemed a rhetorical question, as Jude began speaking to Cassidy.

"Perhaps it would be best if you ran girl, those who fear worms such as these pathetic unawakened have no place doing the true work of the lord."

Zweiss thought back to the girl's earlier words while Jude confronted her.

"I killed a few people, nothing special. I do it all the time, as a defense mechanism and to grow my skills. And I have no idea what you have to do. Your weights are of no concern to me, it's not like you can carry them dead."

He finally spoke again, after Jude had finished. His voice reflected the calm state of his mind.

"...So you do not feel the burden of killing. Perhaps that is your greatest flaw, as well as your greatest strength..." He paused for a while, before eventually speaking again.

"You would wish me dead... but for what purpose? What wrong have I done you?" He continued without waiting for an answer. "You say it is my fault that you are in your current predicament, yet you were in the same position when I arrived. Who is truly at fault here?"

"I am ready whenever you are, Poseidon." he said, seeming disinterested. He took a long draw from his cigar, letting out a long trail of smoke. He wondered for a second what it would be like if he had the power to control Fire instead of blood. His smoking habit would have actually been pretty useful. But he would still be a monster, with an ability that inflicted just as much pain to those around him if he used it. He reflected on his war days, and his days in the SWAT...Was it worth it? Was it worth growing attached to those people only to see them be destroyed?

Equipped with his two new weapons, Keaton looked down at himself, tightening his new gun to the holster on his right side and placing the laser in his hands. He put the ammunition for the new gun where he kept his old rounds. This should suffice.

Keaton brought his eyes up to Poseidon. "Who will be showing me to R&D?" he asked.

The door swung open slowly, revealing a medium sized room with another table in it and a staircase.... but a few feet away from the stairs was the object Anver had been looking for; a refrigerator. he walked over, opening the door and peering inside the freezer portion. now If I can just find a damn stove... he thought to himself as he pulled out a carton milk and of eggs and a container of ham and some shredded cheese. he closed the door, placing the food on the table and glancing around, seeing nothing else in the room besides a small sink basin and a few pots and pans and plates. "Wait..." he began "I can control the temperature... I don't need a stove." It wa true... he could just raise the foods temperatures to the point where they would be thoroughly cooked. he got up from the table, picking up a clean looking skillet from near the sink, he returned and poured some milk into it, then opened the egg carton, picking out several of the white ovals and cracking them on the rim of the pan, spilling their contents into the cookware in front of him as a pale yellow mixture began to appear as Anver began to heat different layers of the substance, resulting in a make shift tide sort of effect that mixed the eggs and milk together on their own, saving him the trouble of having to stir it himself, seeing as how he didn't know where or even if there was any silverware here. he next opened the container of ham and tore up a few slices, tossing the pieces into the uncooked omelet and watching as they too became caught in the circular tide motion as he opened the shredded cheese and sprinkled a hand full or two in, the tide stopping as he did so.

with the preparation done, he stuck his finger into the raw omelet, and began to heat it up, using conduction the spread the thermal energy all throughout the mixture and cook it from the inside out. within a few minutes, it was fit for consumption. Anver got up and went back to the sleeping quarters, rummaging through his bag which still lay on the bed, producing a pocket knife and walking back into the kitchen area. he sat back down, flipping open the knife's blade and cutting the omelet into small strips, picking them up with his hands and eating them. How far I have fallen... Anver thought to himself as he ate, then quickly pushing the thought out of his head; he didn't exactly have the best time growing up a a kid in the hoods of Manhattan; the only reason he had ever gotten to the point where he could enjoy the luxuries of the upper class was because he'd been smart enough to take the advice of the adults around him and focused his time on studying and school instead of gang banging and getting involved in the local turf wars on the block... but even though that now he was no longer able to enjoy the luxuries his endeavoring had earned him, his rather impoverished experiences from back then prevented him from bitching and moaning about it.

having finished his breakfast, he got up and put the skillet in the small sink basin, turning the water on and beginning to lather up a rag with dish detergent. "Well" he said absentmindedly to himself as he began washing the skillet "Might as well see if there's anything out here after I'm done..."

Lux strode outside, taking in the last of the daylight. He felt re-energized, but his body could no longer keep up with the fatigue of the past week. No more running, he mused to himself as he watched the sun setting in the distance. He'd come so far from that fateful day when the suited man had come into his apartment. I used to just be a normal kid. Now I'm sitting at the right hand of potentially one of the most powerful men in the world. Funny how things change. Lux yawned and stretched. He was tired. He walked back into the building and got in the elevator, pressing the button to reach the third floor. Upon reaching it he walked down the hall until he located a room. 42... Perhaps I'll find all my answers in here, he thought to himself, chuckling as he opened the door and entered. He immediately stripped off his clothes save for his underwear and crawled into the bed, quickly falling asleep in the warm embrace of his blankets.

Ace watches his new found group disperse and went on their own, "If anyone needs me, I'll be at the training room." He humbly said without any trace of his cockiness from before, like something is boggling in his mind. He steps to the elevator and press the button. Ace leans on the elevator wall and awaits on each floor.

Shit! what have i gotten into? it been a long time since i have any company along side with me. all i've doing is running way since i got this ability and never had a direction in my life. Ace ponders. *Ding* Ace reaches the floor as the elevator doors opens, He steps out as the lights begins to reveals the dim training room. If i have to play with others might as well control my powers. He loosen up and clear his thoughts. The speedster started using his ability, the air started to gather around his feet as if like a jet was about to take off, Ace begins to dashes around the room several times, breaking the speed of sound leaving multiple shock waves knocking most of the equipment as he goes. It lasted for about 30 mins. The speedster suddenly stops and feeling exhausted as he catches his breath. Ace looks around the destruction he just cause, the equipment was scattered all around like a whirlwind hit the place. "Fuc..this isn't good enough." he drops to the floor and seems to be suffering from overheating. "Maybe.. i'll..do better tomorrow."Ace is determine to perfect his ability. His eyes seems to be heavy and feeling weary. Ace fells asleep laying on the training room's floor.

Kenny decided that it would be best to get some rest before trying to do anything, so he headed up to the Third Floor, and headed down the hall until he reached Room 37, which he entered. Then, he got into the bed and promptly fell asleep, having tired himself out from the experiences that the day had held.

  • 3 weeks later...

That gave Cassidy pause. He had a point. Still, being captured as a runaway was a lot different from being caught as a serial killer.

"Who said I needed a reason to kill you?" She said simply.

She thought about telling Zwiess her opinions on her position, but thought better of it. Instead, she turned to Jude.

"Being practical is not the same as fearing them." She said, "I do not yet have the strength to kill more than a few at once. As you said, my ability is unrefined."

She said no more, simply turning to walk away. She was wasting time here. Her main argument had been stopped in its tracks, Zwiess wasn't doing anything for her. Best to get moving, find someone she could hide behind before she got caught.

"Wonder what the bastards want," Anver said idly as he finished washing the utensils and placed them into the plastic dish drain beside the sink, where they joined the still soaking wet pot there with a loud metallic Clank! he couldn't help but let his mind wonder a little as his hands had been working

"They say they want they want to make a world filled of people like us," he continued as he began moving away from the sink, holding his arms out infront of him and focusing on heating the air around his palms and subsequently drying them much like one would with an electric hand dryer found on the wall of a public restroom "But what the hell does that mean... What is 'US', exactly... Why the hell do people like me even have these powers?"

He dropped his now dry palms down to his side. it was a damn good question, one Anver had been restraining himself from thinking about so far during his time as a fugitive, when it would've been much more productive to devote his thoughts solely on his surroundings and what his next move would be to continue to escape capture. But nevertheless, these were questions that very much deserved to be asked; Why did that...pillar thing rise up from the ground in New York? Why the hell did he, out of all the other people that were in Time Square that morning, be the one to develop an ability? And these two questions again led to the big two: Who the hell was this "Utopia" Group. and What the hell did they want with...him? no...not him, he wasn't the ending subject of the question anymore, he knew that they wanted him to serve as a hit man against "The Bartender" and that they chose him because he'd apparently have the good chance of succeeding given the fact that his and the Target individual's abilities were so similar... No, the subject of that question was now-

"what the hell do they want with this 'Pillar' Thing?" Anver asked aloud, breaking his mental mutterings and speaking his thoughts, not that anyone else was there to hear them. The memory of the night before flashed through his mind as he took a seat at the table; he had the feeling that there was something that would help him get out of the current situation if he could figure out the answer to this one question.

" If possible, find out what you can regarding the supposed information of the Pillar."

The words rang out clear as day in Anver's Mind, Along with words that had been spoken earlier in that same conversation as well:

" the Bartender is set to be attending a dinner party tomorrow night hosted by a government official. The Organization seems to think there will be important information regarding the Pillar there."

He leaned back in his chair, propping his feet up on the table, only then did he notice the amount of dirt and mud and dust on his boots, though... not like he really cared, He hadn't ever all that petty about clothing in his life, growing up in what was at several times "the School of hard knocks". so so long as they didn't have any holes and kept his feet from getting wet, the damn things could've been hot pink and decorated with unicorn's and rainbows and been covered in dog excrement... well scratch that last one, He'd honestly go out of his way to find an opportunity to wash them up if they ever got covered in something so foul smelling...

"So, there's Utopia and then there's some 'Organization'" He mused "Apparently they're bot after the pillar looking object that burst from the ground that day..." He sat up, leaning forward on the table. He was getting somewhere, he knew it, just a little bit more... "this pillar must have had some type of crucial role in how people starting getting these strange abilities" he finally blurted out, managing to finally fit the few puzzle pieces he had together, granted, not all of them fit together exactly right, but it was a pretty good start for having so little to go on initially, one had to admit. But Anver wasn't done yet, he still had more to figure out, he knew that much instinctively

"But this alone still doesn't explain why either of these Groups would want control of it," he continued, beginning to scratch his chin as he racked his brain trying to come up with theories "Maybe..." he began "Maybe there's some type of way to augment or enhance a person's power... or some other effect that this 'Pillar' has under certain circumstances... Something..." he tapped his temple, he could feel in his gut that he was close... then it hit him, the answer all along, it was so seemingly obvious that Anver actually felt a bit sheepish for not having realized it sooner.

"Power is always the name of the game," he concluded "whether it's in politics, the business world, or in armed conflicts, power is always the real name of the game..." he stood up from the table, pushing the chair in behind him "And I've got the hunch that it's the same for this; power is what everyone's looking for at the end of the day, and whatever the 'Pillar' does or whatever effect it has, it'll give them the type of power their looking for..." He put his hands into his pockets idley as he stared up at the ceiling for a while

"Of course, this doesn't give me any answers about what exactly Utopia wants with the thing or who they are, but at least it'll serve as a good basis for me to start developing a theory as I get more and more pieces of the puzzle." he walked out of the kitchen and back into the room with the table as he continued muttering to himself "but for now, at least, I think it's safe to assume that Utopia is just like a lot of folks I knew back before this mess started; they're all just power-grubbing bastards. it doesn't matter what they want it for, just so long as they hold it in their hands for even a second or two, they'll think that they're satisfied, but then they'll find out that they need more, that the high is starting to fade too quickly, and they'll keep going out and searching for more and more to feed their growing addiction, and along the way, People, good people, people who don't want anything to do with their little struggle and who haven't done anything wrong, will end up getting hurt because of their actions." He couldn't help but gnash his teeth a little as he recalled what little business Ethic's some of the people he had worked with in the past had had. there wasn't really a lot that flipped Anver's hot switch; but people messing with his wife and kid's, and people who want either money or power and don't give a damn about the personal cost to those caught in their warpaths, were the two things that definitely did the job of pissing him the fuck off... and both those things had happened in this current situation. hell, if you wanted to get technical, one could even say that he and his own family were victims of someone else's rampant, ruthless ambitions... honestly, who the hell kidnapped a mother and her two children?

"Fucking terrorist, that's who." Anver snarled in a low voice as he answered his own question. and that was the moment he decided it. the way things were right now, there was no way in heaven, hell, or earth that he'd ever willingly help these "Utopia" terrorist. he'd comply only as long as he had to to get his family back, but after that, oh, there would be some serious vengeance going on. He didn't care how many damn people this "Utopia" might have under it's command; He'd cut them all down, one by one if he had two. he'd show all them what happens when you go throwing your weight around and not giving a damn about who got squashed under the mass of your gargantuan girth.

"Jesus," he began as he slammed the front door open, stalking out of the cabin "I'm sorry, but I don't have any choice now..." He broke off of the dirt path leading to the road below, standing at the tree line of the small clearing in which the cabin stood.

"But I'm going to burn all those bastards to a crisp when I get the chance." with that said, he began trekking through the under growth. He didn't usually get angry, but when he did, it always was a bit explosive and always took a while for him to cool off... and cooling off is something he really needed to do in this situation. it wouldn't help to be so royally miffed like this when the car arrived tonight and this mess really got started. maybe a walk through these woods would help to calm him down... though that would probably take a while, because as of right now, plants were singed at the leaves at stems whenever he passed by them.

((OCC: Flux, Sorry if this post seems a bit harsh. it's not meant to disrespect you as the writer or your story, it's just that there's honestly no information at this point in the plot that's been presented to Anver that could possibly change his current view point of the group, so he's going on what he assumes the group to be based on some of his experiences in the past.))

Zweiss turned to Jude as Cassidy turned to walk away. He made eye contact with the man, wondering what his opinions on the situation were. He turned back to the retreating form of Cassidy.

"What will you do now?" he called out to her. "Continue running from the authorities? It's only a matter of time before you're found out."

He was curious as to this girl's plans. She had potential, but her will was unrefined. She was pushing at him, but giving up to early. She seemed to be waywardly making her way through the world, living at whim.

Cassidy paused, it was an interesting ploy. Zwiess apparently wanted her to stick around. Of course that meant he'd been manipulating her the whole time. Of course he had, she had felt desperate. Desperation was easy enough to control.

"Why do you care?" She called back, "And why should I tell you anyway?"

This was a waste of time, if Zwiess needed her for something, it would happen on her terms, not his. She accelerated her pace slightly, disappearing back around the house she'd come back behind. ...

(OOC: Yeah, so Zwiess lost her for now. Give her tomorrow to realize how utterly screwed she is and come back)

Supernovae

Zweiss gave a light chuckle as Cassidy disappeared. He turned back to Jude, the smile still evident on his face.

"Let's head back now. There's nothing else for us to do here."

----------------------------------------

The trio of Zweiss, Jude, and Kiri had walked fro a long time before reaching their destination. They arrived at a stairwell leading down underneath the city. Zweiss began walking down, motioning for Jude to follow.

"It's an abandoned area," Zweiss said offhandedly, explaining where they were. "There were plans years ago to build this place for who knows what. The project was canceled without any word of its purpose ever reaching the media -- a rare thing these days. Now it's been all but forgotten..." he trailed off the sentence as they reached the bottom of the stairs. A stone wall blocked their path, making entrance impossible. Zweiss smiled.

"Of course, obstacles like this help deter anyone who might enter unknowingly. Apparently, the place was walled off when they canceled the project. We've simply made some... adjustments to the walls." Zweiss closed his eyes, and the familiar hum of his power could be heard once more. This time, it was targeted at the wall specifically. There was a slow grating as the rock was pushed downward, sinking into a slot in the ground. The path ahead was opened to them, a dark passage of twisting corridors. There were many paths visible in the short range of sight they had, making the place seem like a maze. Zweiss turned to Jude.

"Of course, my power is not the only way to arrive here. There are many other entrances. You, for example, would not even need my assistance to get through there." He closed his eyes and activated his power once more, the wall raising back into place.

"My power is rather versatile in that manner," he commented. "Gravity is not limited to downward movement. You simply change where the pull comes from."

The place was pitch black now that the wall was sealed, but it didn't seem to deter Zweiss. He removed a flashlight from his coat, lighting the path ahead.

"I don't really need this, but it's here for your benefit. Eventually, you too will know the way without assistance." He guided him down the twisting passages, turning at multiple intersections. One could only wonder what the original intent for this place had been, and why it had been canceled. Eventually, there path ended at a single metal door. Zweiss removed a key from his coat, opening the lock and pulling the door open. Instantly, they were blinded by the bright lights, having been in the dark for so long. The area beyond the doorway contrasted the "maze" greatly. It was very clean, well lit, and buzzed with activity. As Zweiss strode into the room, many people temporarily stopped what they were doing to give him a short bow of acknowledgement The walls were all stone, but the floor was a bright white tile. There were computers set up all over, with someone working at almost every one. Zweiss turned around to face Jude.

"And here lie the headquarters of Utopia."

Jude remained silent through most of he and Zweiss's walk. He was intent on listening, learning whatever he could from his new leader. It was becoming apparent to Jude that this was God's messenger. His prodigal son. Why else would this man be given such a powerful gift. And not only was the gift powerful, but so was the man. The way he walked, talked, presented himself it just reeked with power. A power Jude knew he could never truly possess. Even if the powers granted to them were reversed, Zweiss would still be the leader and Jude would be the follower, Jude knew this all too well. And it didn't bother him at all.

Jude knew his place. He was God's right hand. A weapon to be sent to deliver judgement. He wasn't fit to pass the judgement himself. In fact, Jude most likely preferred his role. It was more pleasant to him to follow than it was too lead. It was simpler. Since God is benevolent, then why would Jude ever question him. He was pure, righteous and most importantly divine. Jude was just happy he was on the right side.

These were the thoughts that kept Jude occupied on there walk to Utopia and when his eyes first saw Utopia, they did not go away. Instead they were solidified. Whatever one would say about Utopia, Jude knew one thing. That this was home. He turned to his new master and quickly fell to one knee, "I will serve you second only to the lord. Just tell me what task you need done and I will complete it or I will die trying."

"Who will be showing me to R&D?"

Poseidon looked at his watch, the same bland expression on his face as always.

"We'll have to make things quick. It's getting late. I'll have Hades show you to R&D while I take Viktor to Olympus."

He took out his phone, dialing a number while they entered the elevator. Hades' voice could be heard on the other end, speaking loudly with the same tinge of insanity.

"...Yeeess?"

"Hades, wait by the entrance to R&D. You'll be giving the new member a short tour," Poseidon replied curtly. The was laughter from the other end.

"Of course."

The elevator stopped on the main level, where Poseidon motioned for Viktor to get out. He turned to Keaton.

"Take this to the third level. Hades should be waiting for you there." With that, he exited the elevator, showing Viktor out of the building.

The duo walked out into the night air. There were not many stars visible, a result of being in the inner city. Poseidon spoke as they walked down the main path.

"There isn't a whole lot to see at Olympus itself. Most equipment is kept in this building. We have the lobby, a meeting room, and a tech area, but that's mostly everything of interest. I can show you around tomorrow if you wish, but I'd recommend finding a place to stay tonight. Be back at Olypmpus by 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning."

With that, he turned and walked away into the streets of New York, likely making his way to his own home.

Keaton was greeted by a grinning Hades as he exited the elevator. The man's long black hair hung in loose strands over his face.

"So you're in R&D, huh?" He laughed. "I wonder what sort of experiments you'll be doing? Likely nothing as interesting or fun as mine..."

They walked down a hallway, passing multiple closed doors. They were labeled numerically, Lab 1, Lab 2 and so on as they moved along. Hades stopped at Lab 15.

"I think this one's unused right now. You can work here." He pulled out a chain of keys from his lab coat. He removed a key labeled 15 and handed it to Keaton.

"Don't lose that now. The supply room is Lab 40. You'll need to make requests there for materials. My lab is down at the very end of the hall. Don't hesitate to visit. That's where all the fun happens, after all."

He began laughing as if he had made some hilarious joke. He walked down the hall, leaving Keaton behind, still laughing. The laughter stopped abruptly as he turned around.

"Oh. You can leave now. Go find somewhere to sleep."

With that he continued down the hall, eager to start on his late-night projects.

Zweiss motioned for Jude to stand. As the man did so, there was the sound of a key turning in the door's lock. Zweiss turned to face the entry. A man strode through, his blonde hair a white coat flowing behind him. He stopped upon seeing Zweiis and gave a short bow, pushing up his glasses as he stood.

"Alister." Zweiss said simply. "Where were you?"

The man gave a small smile.

"I was simply attending to business for the sake of Utopia. Nothing too grand, I assure you." He walked past Zweiss, pausing by the corner and looking back. "I'll be in my office now if you need me."

Zweiss simply watched as the man left. Alister was the second-in-command, but for his talents only. Zweiss couldn't say that he entirely trusted the man. He was hungry for power, and it was obvious, to Zweiss at least. He turned back to Jude.

"You'd best get some rest. It's getting late, and I have a task for you tomorrow that will take your complete concentration. We have rooms on the lower level. I'll show you there now."

I would ask that you meet me in my office after you've had something to eat. There is a kitchen near the back of the first floor. You may fix yourselves something there, or go about finding a meal in the city. Either way, meet as a group and come to my office, the furthest room on the second floor.

My regards,

Cedric Sterling

"Go find somewhere to sleep," Hades said. The combination of knowing legends about the devil-god himself and being within the presence of said entity made Keaton the greatest bit uncomfortable. However, he wasn't turned to an animal, but was instead given a room of his own to disregard sleep in. And that was how his night was spent. Keaton was up until the dawn shuffling and organizing the supplies and materials in his lab to his liking.

After a quick power nap, he got up, equipping himself with his two guns: both high-clip, low-damage with hard rubber bullets. The young man left his lab in search for some grub.

VIktor managed to find a a nice dry alleyway to sleep in during the night. Still being Homeless from being on the run so long he didn't really have much else to go back to. His families' Home would have been near by, but he didn't want them to see him like this, or ever as long as he was still this monster.

THe night was rather uneventful, though his back hurt from laying on a mattress that springs were worn out. He quickly made his way to the Olympus building. Viktor had never been late before, something he prided himself on. He placed another cigar in his mouth and lit it as he walked into the building.

Kenny woke up refreshed form his sleep, got dressed, and walked outside of his room, only to find a note taped to his door.

Kenny then walked down the Hallway to the Elevator, and headed down to the First Floor. Once there, he headed to the Kitchen, and got a Bagel, toasted it, spread some Cream Cheese on it, made some Orange Juice, cleaned up after his mess, and then had his breakfast. after finishing, he cleaned up, took the Elevator to the Second Floor, headed to Cedric's Office, and waited just outside, waiting for the others to show up.

Waking up with a yawn, and rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. Beverly got out of her bed frowning at her appearance in the small mirror in the room. "I look like crap." She thought "normally I wouldn't care but for now I need to keep my appearance up...such trouble but its my guise for now."

Fixing her dress and hair to the best of her ability "I need to figure out where the showers are and get so new clothes. I can't keep wearing and sleeping in the same stuff now can I?"Beverly mused to her self well she started leaving her room. Closing the door she Noticed a piece of paper taped to the door.

"A meeting, hmm.. well it looks like the plots moving now." She said with a small smile. After making herself a quick something to eat in the kitchen she headed up to the office. Upon reaching the meeting area she saw both Ace and Kenny there with Ace lighting up a cigarette.

"Must you do that inside, its your choice to kill your self faster but I would rather live for awhile longer. Thank you." She said to Ace sound a bit annoyed, well covering her mouth and nose.
