Surge Story: Chapter 2- "GAOWS" [Completed IC Thread]

[Jory]

Jory reacted quickly to the hail of gunfire, dropping into a prone position and pressing the button on Neffi's capsule. "Neffi, protect us!" he ordered. The GAO complied, releasing a loud battlecry as she took a defensive stance. A bluish green barrier appeared around the cadets, bullets pinging harmlessly off of the energy field. "Get to cover, now!" the cadet roared at Clint, springing up, scooping his GAO off the ground, and sprinting for the nearest cover, the same as the injured technician. Jory took a glance over the cover and released Oliver from his capsule. The two GAOs crouched behind cover next to Jory as he examined the technician's wounds. "You're losing a lot of blood. Get pressure on that wound. We'll handle the intruders."

[Supernovae]

Before Clint could react to Jory a massive tail swung down in front of him. His Onix roared as it took an onslaught of bullets for her master. Dirt and stone flew off of her tail, but she was hardly fazed. She faced the direction that the bullets hailed from and roared.

Clint couldn't help but smirk, his strongest partner was rising to the occasion once again, just as she had done against the giant ice bird. He charged forward and grabbed onto her back, while his Hitmontop followed suit. "Let's get this party started!"

The giant snake took no time to comprehend her master's orders. Instead she began pushing forward through the gunfire, each bullet tearing off tiny chunks of her rocky exterior as she began to pick up speed, heading straight toward the nearest spot where she saw the gun fire coming from.

[Flux]

Lars felt a pressure enter his mind, but it was unfamiliar and he couldn't understand it. Shortly after, however, he could feel the familiar presence of Sleepy probing into his mind, despite being inside his capsule. There were no words, only a vague sense of a location.

"Is that where the others went...?" Lars wondered.

"Ab...ra..."

"...I'll take that as a 'yes.'"

Lars turned to lead Surge the way Sleepy had shown him. He'd trust in his GAO. Sleepy had proven to be extremely useful thus far, and he was sure he could trust the little guy.

"I, um, think they went this way, sir..."

[Chevaleresse]

Before the gunfire rang out, muffled curses echoed across the tarmac as Nathan slid into the expanding sinkhole. Fortunately, he was near the edge, so the aircraft on the pavement didn't, you know, mush him. His GAOs skidded downward alongside him, though they did so with significantly more poise than the pilot. Flying? Yes. Falling? Not so much. He banged into a few parts as he tumbled, and one of them tore a nasty gash in his arm. "You've got to be f***ing kidding me. . ." he grumbled as he regained his footing near the bottom. Nathan nearly fell over again as he heard assault fire come from somewhere out of the hole, along with the unsettling sound of it tearing into someone. There's a reason I was a pilot and not a Marine. I didn't sign up for this shit! Regardless, it was his duty to fight, and fight he would. "Come on, guys. Follow right behind me. Did any of you see where Crusader went?" He asked the GAOs the question as he picked his way to the rim of the crater, clutching his wounded arm.

[Chim]

“Hey Logan! That you, man?”

Logan looked up as he heard Erick calling out to him. He held his hand in a protective way when the flashlight blinded him for a second. “Yeah, it’s so dark I didn’t see this hole and I don’t have my flashlight with me.” Logan studied his wound in the newfound light when Sid showed up and started talking to Erick. His vest was ripped open just above the elbow; like glass had cut through. Lucky for him it was a clean cut. Logan tore a piece of clothing and tried to bind it as a bandage. It was quite a process to do with only one hand, but in his training he learned a few tricks to apply first aid on himself. By biting the cloth he could use his teeth to keep it in place and after a small struggle he finally finished.

Suddenly he heard automatic fire in the distance. “Guys, we need to hurry up and get back!”

[Jory]

Jory grinned as he saw Clint charging across the battlefield on Pimparella's back. Talk about a distraction, the cadet thought to himself as he finished bandaging the technician's wound. It was a shoddy job, but it would control the blood loss until someone actually trained to handle a situation like that could do so. He had her sidearm, though, so that was a plus. Now if only I could get on Sampson and get in closer... The cadet smacked himself on the forehead. Forgot to get Sampson from the med wing. If I ever needed to ride something into battle, now would have been that time, he lamented. Instead, he turned to Neffi and Oliver. "Alright guys, we're going to be moving cover to cover. We should be able to move quickly since they'll be focused on Clint. Let's go!" he ordered. With that, he began to run after Clint, his GAOs in tow as he progressed up the tarmac.

[K_H]

Kenny saw Jory follow Clint, and grinned.

"Emma, Eve, Ryu, Let's move! Clint is providing a distraction, so we'll be able to move much quicker! let's utilize that to our advantage!"

Kenny and his GAOs then started to run up the Tarmac after the other two Cadets and their GAOs.

[Chevaleresse]

Nathan shouted from inside the hole. "What the hell's going on? Where is everyone?" He cursed at himself for forgetting his sidearm. Yes, he had his lizards, but they didn't know how to take cover or dodge bullets.

[Sutoratosu]

The source of fire stopped for a few moments. the sounds of empty clips hitting the concrete could be heard... along with the sounds of reloading. as Clint continued his advance towards the tango, a large fleet of small shapes sped towards him through the air.They were jagged and stubby looking, and resembled a hail of arrows as they soared through the sky, plummeting down to earth. Anything that got on the wrong end of it would get impaled... and he was right in the target zone for it. He didn't even seem to notice it was coming at him. Jory and Kenneth could, however... and they too were also directly in the target zone.

"So you found one too?" Erick asked. He couldn't see where Sid was, but he also didn't want to take his light off of Logan. Just then another shout came from the hole. he resumed his scan, soon finding Nathan as well.

"Well... looks like everyone's winding up in there..." he muttered. This day was not going very well, one had to admit. Attacked twice in the same day, and probably by the same enemy both times... and now his squad members were tripping and falling into deep holes left and right.

"Genisa," he said. The GAO didn't even need him to finish the sentence. Her eyes blazed scarlet as a few Black hawks down in the hole became engulfed in a twin light. They all began moving around the Soldiers trapped down below, noticeably avoiding getting too close as they were all piled against the edge of the pit, forming a bit of a makeshift trail leading out to where Erick stood on the lip. The glow faded, and almost immediately it all began to collapse. Her eyes flared again, and the structure of crushed choppers began to regain it's integrity, being manipulated back into place.

"Hurry," she urged Logan and Nathan via telepathy. "I...can't hold this for...long..."

"Then what are you waiting for?" Surge asked Lars impatiently. "Lead the way, Kaiser!"

[K_H]

Kenny and Ryu noticed the Objects heading towards them, Ryu relayed the Info to Eve and Emma using his Aura, and Kenny and his GAOs quickly turned in the same direction as they ran, getting out of the Target Zone as they did so. Kenny then yelled to Clint and Jory.

"ABOVE YOU, GUYS!"

[Ragnar]

as Genisa' holds of the choppers, Sid had an idea on how are they gonna get out of this pit. "Smoke, blast us out of here!(Waterfall)" as he release Horsea from its capsule. The tiny blue seahorse comply as she release a powerful stream of water underneath Nathan,Logan and Sid's feet; shooting the water up like a geyser, as it carries the cadets and sending them out of that hole and into the surface.

"Argghh" Sid winced as he landed on his bum and quickly pick himself up. "Im all right!" he said even though his back hurts like hell. "where to now?" he ask the others.

Nathan quickly lifted his pair of lizards onto the bridge, then vaulted onto it himself before quickly running over to Erick. "Did you see where Crusader went down at? I can't find him."

[Flux]

"Then what are you waiting for? Lead the way, Kaiser!"

Lars resisted the urge to smile at the irony of his superior calling him kaiser as he walked in the direction he believed would take them there. Eventually, the small group arrived at a tarmac of some sort, but the place was in an unbelievable state of chaos. People were running around, yelling orders to each other and their GAOs. He couldn't make out any specific faces though. Looking forward, there appeared to be... a giant hole? Lars stopped in his tracks, his mouth gaping.

"What..." he began, looking to Surge.

"Um... I think there may be a problem..."

[Jory]

Jory looked up and saw the arrows heading toward his team. He looked at Neffi and Oliver. "Oliver, you're quick enough! Get out of the way! I'll give you orders from here. Neffi, protect us!" Oliver's eye glinted and he adroitly scampered away, looking nervously back at his trainer. Neffi once again projected her shield, bracing herself strongly against the ground as the arrows drew nearer.

[Chim]

“Finally out of that hole,” Logan mumbled. He made his way over to Sid when Ace suddenly jumped on his shoulder. “I think we should head back. I heard gunfire."

[Supernovae]

"ABOVE YOU, GUYS!"

Clint quickly looked up and saw what Kenny must have been talking about. It seemed to be raining stones. "Shit," Clint mumbled under his breath as he and Rocky jumped off of Pimparella. Without a command the Onix placed itself in front of the incoming stones and her master, ready to take the attack dead on.

[Sutoratosu]

"Sorry man," Erick said, turning to Nathan."I came around through the forest, but I haven't seen it anywhere." then as if on cue, a screech echoed through the air as Crusader flew down next Nathan. the Metal bird seemed to be injured.

"Well," Erick said. "Guess that answers it then." a loud crash could be heard as Genisa released her hold on the ruined choppers. The Gunfire had completely stopped in the distance. then there was a shouts of fury.

If Logan were to turn around, he'd see someone who looked just like him charging at him with a Combat knife... their voices were even the same, and what everyone heard was this Logan's battle shout as he closed in on the young medic. And if Nathan were to look, he'd see himself charging at him as well, holding out a M-11 and preparing to pull the trigger... and then there was something that looked like Erick, standing atop a nearby chopper. The thing held a Machine Gun in it's hands, preparing to mow down everyone should it's allies fail to kill them. It seemed the only person who didn't have a look a like here was Sid.

Pimparella let out a streak of pain as she took the attack in full force, then collapsed to the ground, un-able to take any more... It seemed like it had been of the Rock Affinity, that stone barrage, but if it was strong enough to take out even the Onix... What they were facing was no laughing matter. The Stones continued to rain down; Pimparella had not stopped them all. The Cadets were in grave danger of being impaled on the spot. They were, that is, until the Maternal GAO from earlier leaped out infront of them, unleashing another fiery orange blast from it's mouth, destroying the projectiles entirely. Though it seemed to have trouble moving afterwards. Either way, it had just saved all of the soldier's lives.

"GO GO GO!" they heard a thick southern accented voice call. It was the Female Mechanic from earlier. "Don't just stand there, Damn it, Get the Bastard!"

Surge stopped when he reached the sink hole, starring down into it's depths.

"What the hell is going on here?" he asked. From his periphery he could see a swinging teal light. He was beginning to have a hard time staying awake for some reason.

"PIKA!" a small voice called. out of one of the capsules on his belt, the Mouse GAO he had caught earlier erupted out in a burst of white light. it unleashed a weak shock wave of electricity, and the light disappeared as the sound of something hitting the ground with a THUD! was heard. The mouse ran over to Surge, climbing his leg and taking it's perch on his shoulder.

"What was that?" he asked, thoroughly perplexed. Just then Lars saw a similar light nearby... now he was beginning to feel sleepy.

[Jory]

Jory's GAOs were able to survive the barrage of stones. The cadet called over to Oliver, "Use your speed to move up and cover us with any ranged attack you have while we go!" The lizardlike GAO nodded and darted off toward the front lines, quickly overtaking Clint and Pimparella as Jory and Neffi moved up behind him. Eventually, he reached cover and poked his head around the corner of it. He opened his mouth and began spitting what appeared to be seeds at an extraordinarily high velocity, the projectiles flying toward the source of the stone barrage.

Kenny quickly gave an order to Emma.

"Emma, Paralyze it!"

Emma responded by jumping off of Kenny's shoulder, becoming surrounded in light blue electricity, and then letting off a bolt of light blue electricity at the source of the stone barrage.

Sid gets close to his allies as the clones comes closer, flanking them in every direction, "Smoke, cover us" Sid ordered the seahorse. Horsea eyes glow as it emits a powerful barrage of water rings, hitting and confusing all of the enemies surrounding them. ((Water pulse))

[Supernovae]

Clint cursed under his breath. His strongest GAO had been taken out with one attack. He pulled out Pimparella's container and called her back. He knew he couldn't waste much time. The cadet looked down at Rocky and nodded to it, signaling that it was time to take cover. Without any hesitation, Rocky and Clint got down and started making their way to Jory's lizard-like GAO, using the seeds it was shooting out as cover.

[Ojama Yellow]

Lionel released his GAOs as lights started to appear around the three of them. "Guys, I want you to be very careful. Something ugly's going down here, and I don't know what it is yet..."

[Chim]

Logan turned around when he heard someone yelling. No, not someone, he saw himself. The fake Logan was charging with a combat knife while the real one moved closer under the disguise of Smoke’s attack. The real Logan wasn’t the best in hand-to-hand combat but shouldn’t be underestimated either. He grabbed his opponent by the wrist, turning the knife away from him, and tried to flip his fake over the shoulder.

[Sutoratosu]

As Logan tossed his Copy, the hand broke off in his grip, sending the fake flying into the pit instead of sending him to the ground behind him. A loud SPLAT! issues up, but not for the reason one might think. If anyone looked into the pit with a flash light, they'd see a pink blob lying splattered at the bottom, it's ooze staining the Blade of one of the wrecked choppers.

Meanwhile, Smoke's attack failed to confuse anything, but it did manage to send Nathan's fake flying backwards and cause him to lose the gun. Unbeknownst to any of the four of them though, the Ditto broke itself back down to it's original form, then transformed again. But this time into something different... and it did it perfectly from memory, not missing anything from the dupe. And it's behavior pattern had changed to, evident when It got up and retrieved the M-11, circling around the group stealthily instead of charging. The Smokescreen was still hanging heavy over the soldiers, obscuring their view of any of this.

"Anyone one see where the other me went?" Erick asked, scanning the area and trying to peer through the stuff. Almost as if in answer, a stream of Automatic Gunfire tore through the black mist, damn near killing Sid as it flew right by his head. Erick turned his attention to where the burst had originated from. "Found it!"

He turned to his Gible.

"You know what to do!" Indeed the little land shark did. It opened it's mouth, letting another Dragon Rage fly towards the area where the gunfire had come through. A small explosion of black energy issued forth, the gust generated from the blast clearing away the smoke screen. The four men were alone again. But Crusader was going crazy over something nearby, screeching at something in the distance, though as to what, it couldn't be seen.

A loud, grinding roar was heard as Oliver's attack made contact with something in the distance. Then a silvery, long and gleaming object could be seen high in the night sky, slamming down towards Jory and his partners with enough force to crush them all to death. If They didn't move fast...

what ever it was, Kenny's attack seemed to have done nothing but piss it off even more.

A tiny light twinkled in the distance in Lionel's periphery. Then it erupted into a blaze of multicolored light as a beam arced it's way through the air towards him...

[Chevaleresse]

"Crusader, what is it?" Nathan peered in the direction the bird seemed to be indicating. "There has to be something still over there. Keep your eyes peeled."
