Rosesong
Rose felt pain everywhere. As she woke up though, she ignored it all. "Enya, Ellaria...?" she struggled to ask, fighting her aching body into a sitting position. As soon as she saw them both, she grabbed them into a hug. "You're both safe," she mumbled. "I was so worried that one of those damned statues would follow us up here and attack you guys. How long was I out for?" Wobbling into a standing position, Rose placed a hand on her injured shoulder to check it, only to find that it was bandaged and the injury underneath was gone. She was slightly confused, but then became even more so as she found that she and the girls were a ways away from the cove they had tried to shelter in. Stumbling over to her jacket, she grabbed it and, ignoring the dried blood, placed it back on, wincing at the surprising achiness that seemed to come from her left arm. Moving back to the others, she noticed with some shock something she hadn't beforehand. Annie and Kenny were there, as well as the unconscious form of Michael. Willing herself to be clean, and sitting down from the minor headache it caused knowing she had no dried blood on her anymore, she nodded to the new arrivals. "Kenny, Annie. I think I'm going to have to thank you Kenny, because there's no way my shoulder could have healed this fast on its own." Rose took a second to catch her breath, realizing how tired she was. "Why is my shoulder bandaged though, and my arm feeling like I've banged it against a thousand of those stone statues? Also, why is Mr. Tay-- sorry, I mean Michael, out cold?" Finishing her queries, Rose began coughing, mentally noting that she really had to be more careful in the future. When her fit was over, she grabbed the girls that she so wanted as sisters close to her, giving them another big hug.
Sutoratosu
Lucian walked past the various piles of stone rubble, stopping and standing over Ethic's dead body. Damn it... he thought to himself as he reached down and hoisted the body up,placing it's arm around his shoulders in a classic "Helping my drunk buddy home" position. should've just listened to me... With the body in tow, Lucian walked up the last few steps, arriving at the top of the Stair case along where the others were. he stood there silently, looking around at the highest level of the Gardens as the group continued it's conversations. he spotted a small fountain nearby, and walked Ethic's body over, dropping it down into a sitting position in-front of the stone lip of the babbling structure. he then took a seat himself beside Ethic, staring up at the red moon in the night sky as he thought to himself... Well... the upside of not being a keeper... is that this moon has no effect on me anymore... =================================================== Ethic got up after the Memories came flooding back in a torrent. he raised himself into a sitting postion, looking around and spotting the twin islands of color far away in the darkness. he rose to his feet as he willed the Dark Space to take him to one of them, the area around him swirling into itself for a moment before clearing again. he now stood on the stones of the scene of Scott's death. the body was gone, but the statue was still there, with it's arrogant smirk. Ethic thought about smashing it to peices as he had told Maxwell he would do... but he found that the anger he felt a while ago was not there... at least, not as intense. something glinting in the red moon light caught his attention... he walked over to see that a plague was in the same spot where Scott's body had been. He read the words on it, puzzled by how it had gotten here... Amy... I'm sorry that I wasn't strong enough... that I didn't listen when you needed me too... that I wasn't there for you when you needed me the most... you didn't deserve to die like that... I'm sorry... but sorry will never be enough to bring you back. Ethic felt a bit sad as he read the plaque for some reason... It didn't make any sense, He had hated scott... why the hell would he have any sympathy for whatever story that arrogant bastard had? No... he shook his head... he had an idea as to why this made sense. Guess that's just the person I am... he thought to himself even if I hate my enemies as much as humanly possible... I guess it's still not outside the realm of possibility for me to feel some empathy for them... he looked up from the plaque and back to the statue, and actually asked himself something for the first time... Did I really even hate him...? He was arrogant, yeah... and he was always trying to start shit with me... he definitely wasn't my favorite person in the world... but did I really hate the guy? and if so, when did I start? as soon as he asked that last question to himself, the memory of the pain and smell as he had burned in hell fire flashed through his mind, sending a chill througout his body... That's when... that's when and how my hate for Scott began... he looked back to the plaque "I hated him because he murdered me... and even more because of how he did it... but maybe I should ask myself a question before I go off and decide to pass judgement on all the Keepers..." he stuck his hands in his pockets, turning away from the plaque and looking up at the red moon perpetually frozen in the sky. "What were their stories... who were they when they were people? weren't they human too... at least once?" he looked back to the statue... "What if he had a reason for what he did? a legitimate one...?"
Zephyrus the Priestess
The child's face was blank for a while as Miss Rose hugged her, even during the second time, as if she didn't know how to react. It felt nice and warm. It felt new and strange. It was different from the hugs she gave the stationery bear that never could hug back with its fluffy, furry arms. Or was it new...? There was a vague memory of some sort... But... Something made her reel back from the distant memory, as blurry and as incomplete the thought was. Either way Enya stayed quiet and still as she was being held.
Ragnar
Kayle notice something moving in the bushes as it violently rustles. Ixidor continues to sleep. The Valkyrie stands up, she withdrew her bastard sword as it begins to glow in a bright fiery orange. She takes a stance and guards the boy. The rustling stops, Kayle stood her ground and grips the handle of her sword tightly. Suddenly a giant snake slithers out the bushes, flickering its tongue and observes the two, It stood high above the Angel and the sleeping artist overshadowing them, It was the serpent statue from the staircase, it seems they were followed. The serpent stretches its flexible jaws, Kayle can see its two huge fangs. "Master get up" she spoke softly warning his sleeping master. The serpent dances moving its head from left to right. Kayle knew it was about to strike as She lowers her sword. With a blink of an eye the Angel leaps into the air and lets out an amazon cry. She pinpoints the head of the serpent, she held her sword up high as it glows alot brighter. The serpent dodges Kayle's attack and lets out a violent hiss, it completely ignores the angel and turns its attention to Ixidor, it slither quickly and makes its way towards the sleeping artist, the serpent strikes with its mouth wide open. "Hiyaaaaaaahh" the angel swings her fiery blade with great force cutting the serpent in half before it makes its contact to Ixidor. A thud was heard as the serpent falls to the ground. Ixidor wakes up. "What's going on?" Ixidor was frighten as he looks at the fallen cut up serpent right infront of him. "We need to leave. This place is much more dangerous than i thought. Stay close to me." Ixidor nodded "We must go through the bridge." after that they make their way through the forest with the light of Kayle's sword guiding them into the dim garden. Notus
Ellaria Ellaria stood motionless as Rose embraced her. She didn't deserve it, she was a treacherous kid, she... She kept crying. Calming down after a while, she spoke to Rose. "Rose I... I'm glad you're okay." the girl said. "I thought you were dying!"
Rosesong
Shhing Ellaria softly as she sobbed, Rose let go of both girls to quickly hold both of her shoulders for a second. "It's ok sweetie," she murmured. "It takes a lot more to keep me down-- though Kenny's healing does wonders too, don't get me wrong." She smirked slightly, before unsteadily sitting on the ground, wincing as she unintentionally banged her arm around. It felt less sore but still hurt. Glancing over at Annie and Kenny, who had been silent throughout her hugging Ellaria and Enya, she asked them again, "What happened to me and Michael?" motioning for the girls to take a seat with her. "And where are the others?"
anethia
"Ethic's dead again, I knocked Michael out by crushing his wrist, and the rest of the gang are up at the top. Now, walk when you're ready and I'll support you." Annie said casually, as if this was ordinary. "We should get to the top as soon as we can and find a way out of this place." Annie looked at her hand and saw a small bit of blood, which she easily wiped off. She fixed her hoodie, brought her hair back behind her ear, and looked behind at Kenny. "Actually, Kenny, would you be able to just portal us up top?"
K_H
"No problem, but i'll need a little time." Kenny then opened a Portal from where they were to a couple feet away from them, got and recovered from a minor Headache, but toughed it out and kept the portal open, and then quickly sent the end that was further from them all the way to the top of the Staircase, taking one minute in total to do so. when it reached the Top, he spoke up. "There's our ride. Let's go." Edited December 21, 2014 by K_H
Rosesong
Grabbing Ellaria and Enya, Rose slowly made her way toward the portal. She still had questions about why Annie had knocked Mr. Taylor out, but chalked it up to his memory causing problems for them all. No one had explained about the firy pain that still tended to explode from her arm either. Shaking her head, the girl realized that being unconscious really was more trouble than it was worth. K_H
Suddenly, before Rose could walk through, the Portal Collapsed, as did Kenny. He had been stretched to his limits, and gone past them, knocking him out for quite some time. That's when he caught on fire.
Rosesong
Rose wheezed in shock as the portal suddenly closed before she could walk through. Hopefully nothing's happened to Kenny, she thought, turning around. "Looks like we have to take the long way," she called out to Annie.
Sutoratosu
A glint nearby caught Ethic's eye as he stared up at the scarlet moon in Scott's place of death. he looked over to the stone effigy, seeing that it was now in a completely different position than before, it's sword was now hanging down by it's side lazily, as if it no longer was eager to fight the first person who so much as looked at it funny. it's facial expression was completely changed as well, the arrogant, infuriating look from before had been replaced by one of solemnity and a bit of sadness... it's empty, grey eyes were peering down at it's feet. but by far, the biggest change was what it's arm... which was now outstretched, the palm facing upwards, holding in it a small sphere with a multi-colored aurora blazing shifting inside of it as if it were alive. the light of the orb had been what had caught Ethic's eye. he stared down at it, puzzled by what it was supposed to mean. he looked up at the statue... and did something he had a first thought of as crazy but decided to try anyway... He Talked to it. "Are... are you..." he began, unsure of himself as he continued "Giving this... to me?" he leap back a few feet as he thought he actually saw the statue... nod... he forced himself to snap out of the surprise and crept forward a little bit, the statue raised it's palm a little to him as he did so... what ever the hell it was, this effigy was definitely moving on it's own... and it proved this simple fact even more by lifting it's gaze to meet Ethic's. it held out it's arm a little more insistently. Ethic reached his own hand out, about to accept the sphere, when he paused. "This wouldn't have something to do with what I said about you all were people too," he asked "Would it?" the Statue seemed hesitant, then nodded it's head slowly, pressing the sphere into Ethic's own hand, then drawing it's hand away, letting it fall slowly to it's side. Ethic stared at the object, it felt smooth, as if it were made of glass... there was a gentle warmth to it... he tossed it into the air a little a couple of times, feeling how it seemed to weigh almost nothing, then stopped, scolding himself for not being more respectful of an object that obviously had some significant importance. he looked at the statue, which now stood silently, arms by it's side, eyes grey and empty. "What is this?" he asked simply, to which their was no reply from the Effigy. and so the two of them merely stood there; the man of flesh and the man of stone, locked in a strangely solemn starring match as the silence following Ethic's question dragged on monotonously... until Ethic began to feel a familiar tugging feeling within him, just like the last few times, first outwards, then transitioning inwards towards himself. he knew from past experience that this meant he would be out of here in a few seconds. he looked up a he felt his body beginning to rise higher and higher, his vision eventually fading in the nothing. ------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------ Lucian sprang up, startled as the Eye's of Ethic's seemingly dead body suddenly and it gasped for air. "Little bit of warning next time would be appreciated, my friend..." he said simply as he watched as Ethic looked around from where he sat in-front of the small fountain, glancing at the group, then gazing up at Lucian himself. "What's that?" Lucian asked nodding his head towards something in Ethic's hand. he stared down to where Lucian was looking... and saw that in his upturned palm, was the Sphere that Scott's Effigy had given him. "I wish I knew..." Ethic replied as he unsteadily rose to his feet, hoisting his bag on his shoulders as he stared down into the orb... there had to be some use for it... some reason why the statue had been so determined to make sure he took it. he returned his attention to Lucian as he glanced over at the group... seeing some type of conversation going on... he didn't see byron any where, but he did spot kenny... whose entire body was engulfed in fire for some reason. Panicking and forgetting what he was about the say to Lucian, he ran over to his friend. "Kenny!" he called out, stowing the sphere in his pocket and taking off the black Fatigue Jacket Maxwell had sold him and began beating the fire out gradually with it... feeling a strange sense of urgency in his mind as he did so, the fire quickly dying out as Ethic picked up the pace, smothering it completely. Why... why was I so afraid when I saw him burning? he thought to himself as he looked down at the jacket, which seemed to be alright for the most part. but it was a valid question... sure, he didn't want to just stand by and watch as his friend died... but there was something about how he'd silently paniced in the back of his mind... how he'd nearly gone over the edge for a minute as he had been rushing over to help... then he looked down at Kenny, who still lay unconscious on the ground, the memory of seeing him burning a few moments ago flashing through Ethic's mind... and then he remembered how he himself had burned in hell fire a few hours ago... how awful it had been... how painful. he took a few tentative steps back, lost in the memory of the black fire for a few moments. he knew why he'd gotten so panicked now. he could feel a cold sweat on his brow... why had he been sweating? it wasn't that hot here, even when he was near the fire... the run over to save kenny hadn't been that far either... his stomach felt like it was in a knot...his mouth was dry for some reason... he found he was breathing a little heavier than he should've been, that he was having a hard time catching his breath. It must have something to do... with the fire... he thought to himself as even more of a sweat broke out on his brow from remembering the scene. he began putting his jacket back on, Kenny now safe from burning to death, and looked at the others silently, a solemn look on his face as he spotted the bridge up ahead of them, and the large building beyond that. this was indeed the top level of the garden... Flux
Phantom looked around from the center of the garden as he exited the portal. It was beautiful, for sure. There were flowers everywhere, decorating the place with their beauty. His gaze stopped at the top of the staircase, where he could see the others reaching the top as well. The statues were nowhere to be seen, presumably destroyed by the group. He eventually moved his gaze from the group to the other side of him, where he could see a bridge that led to a building of some sort. He walked the short distance to the bridge, taking the first few steps onto it. He was on guard the entire time, not willing to risk another incident after the trouble on the stairs. Ragnar
Ixidor and Kayle makes their way into the dim garden and made it into the bridge. Kayle stop at a nearby tree a few distance from the bridge, "Halt" the angel said to Ixidor. She swings her bastard sword infront of the artist, blocking Ixidor's next step. "There's someone at the bridge." Ixidor takes a closer look. Its the guy from at the library, he's been judge of the crime of murder. can't take any chances. "Should we go?"Kayle said. "wait let him cross first." Ixidor decided to avoid conflict. They waited and observe as they hide behind the huge oak.

Sutoratosu
"Who is that?" Ethic looked up upon hearing Rose asking the question, glancing off to where she was looking, and seeing whom she was inquiring about. "I recognize that man..." he began "He distracted the panther back in the library in order to give me and Mr.Taylor time to escape." as he spoke, he couldn't help but have his thoughts drift to how seemingly different the elderly gentleman was mentally now then he had been not too long ago... from a kindly old man to someone who acted as if they were the real world equivalent of Indiana Jones... he had to admit, he was more than a tad bit curious as to the old timers past now; that is, of course, if Mr.Taylor's current persona was indeed based on the person he had been thirty years ago. Ethic pushed the thought train aside after a few minutes, getting back to the current situation. he stared out at the man who was called... actually, now that he thought about it... he'd never learned the guy's name. he watched as this nameless individual slowly picked his way across the bridge to the platform beyond little by little... he decided it was best to simply remain silent, while he didn't know the guy's name, he did know that Minos had said something about him being guilty of murder... Ethic didn't really think the guy would go psychotic on them if he noticed their presence, but this was hell, anything was possible, and he didn't really feel like fighting right now if it came to that. Deciding that prudence was indeed the best course of action, he merely stood there and watched the man as he continued to pick his way across, taking this opportunity to observe and see if there were any obvious traps waiting to be activated by a wrong step. Notus
Phantom ((The bridge collapsed. )) Phantom took the first step into the bridge... And then he was on the other side. Before him was the imponent structure of a giant sized greenhouse, a glass dome filled with lush green from the plants inside. At first, there was no entrance to be seen, but just as Phantom thought of that, a wide golden gate appeared before him and opened, as if inviting him in... Not that he had much choice. Behind him, the bridge had just vanished. Edited July 8, 2014 by Notus
Rosesong
Rose rubbed her eyes first in amazement, then in agitation. "Well then," she spoke mostly to herself, "we need a way to cross now." Walking over to a tree that was nearest to the new gap, she pulled the rope that she had tried to use to keep them in the trees before Aighan showed up. Feeling her strength have somewhat returned, she told Enya and Ellaria, "Stay here for a moment; I'll be back." Rose climbed the tree, blocking out all sounds except for the branches she tested. Once she found one she thought was sturdy, she climbed out midway and tied the rope as securely as she could. Going back to the ground, Rose looked at the length of it and was positive they could make it to the other side. "Ellaria, what do you think?" she checked. "Is that branch sturdy?" Turning to everyone else, she explained, "Hope you guys want to be monkeys-- though what to do with Michael, I don't know."
Notus
Ellaria aproached the tree, managing to get hold of the rope in the way, and pressed her ear against it's trunk. She pulled the rope and listened to the sound of the wood. "It seems okay." the girl said. "But... how big is this gap? If it's too big I don't think I can cross it..." Rosesong
Rose smiled grimly, though the younger girl wouldn't see. "I already thought about that." Turning to face the group, she sat on the ground. "We can't do anything til Michael wakes up, so I guess we're waiting. But Ellaria, how much do you trust me?"
Supernovae
Almost on cue, Mr. Taylor rolled over and slowly opened his eyes. He looked over at the group and suddenly realized what had happened. A feeling of sheer embarrassment rushed over him. He got up slowly and looked around for his cane ... of course it was missing, his younger self didn't think he'd need it. He then sighed and turned to the group, "So, I suppose we should get moving...." he said hoping no one would ask him any questions.
Rosesong
"Perfect! How are you feeling? Apparently Annie knocked you out by breaking your hand," Rose exclaimed, worried for the elderly man and still having no idea of what had truly expired while she had been unconscious. "Kenny healed you though; he's somewhere, so you can thank him whenever. Oh, by the way, are you Michael or Mr. Taylor?" she continued to speak, standing and stretching. Supernovae
Mr. Taylor looked down, ashamed of his former self, or at least certain aspects of him. "I'm Mr. Taylor, don't you worry my dear." He looked ahead towards the bridge, again trying to change the subject. "Though perhaps we shouldn't dawdle on such silly things, I do believe the roof is just that way," he said gesturing at the bridge.
anethia
Annie's eyes gazed past, the bored look that always seemed to be there gone. She fixed her hair, and glanced at the others. Distracted. She lightly bit her lip. Was it worth it? There was nothing else for it. No reason not to. Then she saw the rope. People seemed too scared to try it. I'm worth jack all. If I die, who cares. Not like I'm worth anything. She thought to herself. She walked over to the rope, tested it, then walked back a good distance. She bit her hand, then broke out into a run, dashing towards the rope, grabbing it, and letting go, landing on the other side, breaking her fall by rolling. She stood up. "Hey, random dude. What's your name?" She asked nonchalantly as she fixed her clothes.
