Description Cut-offs

The title of this topic is awkward-- it was originally going to be named "things that are too long" but i can't trust people to not make dick jokes.

So now that that's out of the way,

There are a number of item, dex, ability and move descriptions that get cut off in-game. Easy-enough fix, but I need a list of them.

Here are the ones I've noticed already:

Ok so in my current team I've only got 2 not already mentioned by Ame, and both of them were mentioned by Dashie. The issue is that my text looks way different to Dashies, it's smaller and therefore fits more in. For example on mine gust has it's full description inside the box. I looked at the other fonts used and none of them look like what Dashie's got so (Dashie) did you install the fonts? 'Cause it may be that the font Dashie's working with is the default if you don't.

I'm using the D/P font.

Anyway, for me I had:

Take Down, which ended after "damages the user a"

Play Nice, which ended after "This lowers the"

Flame Burst, which ended after "next to the"

I only included them 'cause the text endings are different. Not sure how important that is. I'll take a look through my other save files to see if I can come up with any completely new ones.

Shell Smash, which ended after "raising Attack, Sp."

Everyone should list the font they use, because the fonts vary from game to game. For example, RD's move recorded was Lick, but it showed up completely on mine with my font.

And based on what i'm seeing, we have to compare to see when the dex entry/move thing is too long.

Changed permissions so anyone can edit, rather than just anyone with the link

Which shouldn't matter because you very clearly have the link... Oh well, there you go.

Anyway, there isn't a way to tell at a glance what's too long in the files-- that's why this topic is necessary. But if something has three words being cut off then try and remove text equal to or greater than that length, for instance. There's a lot of needless wordiness. For instance it'll say "to inflict damage" when that's obvious or like "may affect the foe with paralysis" instead of "paralyze the foe". Look for those.

When you put the links on this thread, did you take the direct link from the URL? I think Drive gives you a custom link to use instead (that comes from the "Share" button) that grants editing capabilities, though it should work regardless.

Also, just for starters: Weedle description in the end said: "big red proboscis (nose)." I changed to "big red nose."

Is this the kind of stuff that we're looking for?

I downloaded the actual version, open it up as text file in Google Drive, and when i edit there, it edits the file.

At least i think it does. Take a look at Weedle and tell me: Is the proboscis part gone? If yes, then it's working.

What Vinny did seems to have worked. The surgery turned all Weedle's probosces into noses.

Edit: My computer fails to find the file after saving it. I'll fiddle around and get an answer back soon.
