Administrators Amethyst Posted February 3, 2011 Author Administrators Share Posted February 3, 2011 Whimsicott? Whimsicott! (Erufuun) (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Mischievous Heart EVs: 252 Def / 252 SDef / 4 Spd IVs: 0 HP Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Encore - Leech Seed - Substitute - Hurricane Maxed defenses and absolute minimum HP are basically a standard on any Sub-Seeder, which forms the basis of this combo. With clever prediction, however, priority encore allows you to get the jump when switching into set-up pokemon, or even absorbing statuses repeatedly with a sub's support. Hurricane is there to take out opposing grass types. Even with no SpA investment, a 120 base power flying move does a number. Use with Rain to get the never-miss bonus! Shanco
Dangerous Li'l Ball of Fluff Whimsicott (M) @ Choice Specs Trait: Chlorophyll / Prankster EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) / Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Giga Drain / Grass Knot / SolarBeam - Hurricane / Hidden Power [Fire] - Hidden Power [Fighting] / Shadow Ball - Switcheroo 77 base Special Attack isn't much, but Whimsicott still knows how to be a pain in the ass with it. Here's a set of offense. It's essentially a hit and run kind of deal. This dude is about as hit-and-run as they come. Why so many options? Well, the moves you ought to choose vary vastly with which weather you are running with Whimsicott, or if you're even running weather at all. Even the ability choice comes down to the weather, as obviously you wouldn't have Chlorophyll on a rain team, you'd have Prankster. Of course, Prankster might be more useful for priority trade-off of Choice Specs to really screw up that Conkeldurr (and whatever else may be thrown at it, like Blaziken). Giga Drain is a universal choice regardless of weather, but you could run Grass Knot to make it a better lead or SolarBeam for more consistent damage in sunlight. Hidden Power [Fire] is the move choice to abuse sun; likewise for Hurricane in rain. Hidden Power [Fighting] gets some fancy coverage with Hurricane, while Shadow Ball will be for Chandelure and when you have [Fire] as your Hidden Power choice. Switcheroo gets rid of your fancy glasses in favor of crippling a wall like Blissey.
