Tacos
Ok so I happen to be very slow and lazy but I finally tested 1.8 to ensure there are no major changes that would affect reborn and that seems to be the case. Nothing has changed in this way. I'll update the OP to reflect this.
tom6067
For the step in which you run directly in a folder location, I only have the option of some Sims 3 folder from ages ago, and if I try to run it there nothing happens. Sorry if I misunderstood the instructions can someone help? *Edit: Rephrasing and adding image* Edited July 14, 2016 by tom6067
Tacos
Sorry for my late response. Can you send a screenshot of that window for you so I can just see what your options are?
Victor Santz
Hi,so i have been on the mac for long and ive been playing the game with no particular major issues ever since i downloaded it, but recently i have been trying to play again and the message i get is the following: P.S: please help me im really starting to lose my patience
Tacos
Unfortunately, that message means your save file is corrupted. You can load up one of the older saves and try to continue from there, though.

Tacos
Make sure you have wine open, and click on the wine icon at the top right corner of your screen. There should be an option about changing your prefix if I remember correctly. Where does it say the prefix is?

There should be an option about changing your prefix if I remember correctly. Where does it say the prefix is? Just wondering, how do you get that wine icon? I had it on my old computer, but my new computer doesn't seem to have it, even though I have three different wine prefixes and now have no way to switch between them. I had it on my old computer, but my new computer doesn't seem to have it, even though I have three different wine prefixes and now have no way to switch between them. grasssnake485
I just open the wine app and it shows up there. I don't know why it won't for your new computer. Okay. Well, that's weird. Out of accident today, I clicked next to the wifi icon in the top bar, and apparently the menu is there, but the icon is invisible. It doesn't show up, but clicking where it should be shows the wine files menu.
Tacos
So, Mac OS Sierra has arrived, and I would just like to make it known that there is no version of wine currently proven to be compatible with it yet. Because of this, I advise waiting to update if you can. I will be updating the OP to reflect this.

David1
Hi, I am also getting the directx 8.0 or higher error. Any clue what causes this and/or how to fix it? Thanks http://imgur.com/a/irsW5
Tacos
What version of wine are you running and what OS are you running on the mac?
David1
The recommended version, 1.6 I think? Running it on OSX Yosemite.
Tacos
Can you try refreshing your wine prefix? By that I mean, change your wine prefix. It can even be to the same location, but it needs to be reset so it's "clean."
David1
huh the game actually works when I load it under a different prefix, will there be any problems if I use a random other prefix? Because when i switched back to wine file it gave me the same error.
Tacos
These problems only really occur as a result of wine prefixes. I'd recommend staying with the one that currently works for you.
David1
Ok awesome! Can't wait to start, thanks man. One last question, is there a way to speed up for mac? I enjoy good storylines a lot, but I kinda dislike grinding for levels so thats why I'm curious. Edited October 4, 2016 by Godot
grasssnake485
There's a FPS modification tool by Himeworks (search it up) for RPG Maker games that you can use to emulate a "turbo mode"
Tacos
I can't say I'd recommend that though. All of my experiences with speed ups and wine have resulted in frequent crashes and corrupted saves.
grasssnake485
Funny, I generally play on 100 FPS, the controls are a little laggy, but otherwise I've kept the game running for days on end without ever crashing.
