Route 2

Um, instead of just making topics out of the blue, you might want to check around the forum first. Instead of giving you direct help, scan through here and you'll find so many hints that I can't imagine you not being able to solve it after that. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8582

I am not making this out of the blue. But if I can't 'Find' it on here I have to make one myself. But thankyou

Not gonna lie, I didn't have the best time with that puzzle either. When you understand what you have to do, you're good to go though so read up if you seek advice. Or watch TheGamersTree.

Otherwise, I can tell you this. Do the south part first. I cried a bit when I found out the 3 (?) dwebbles north puzzle are not essential to finish this episode.

And you tell me that after I did the freaking puzzle!!!?:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

so is the general consensus that the frustrating part is figuring out what to do in the first place? It wasn't this way in 12.0 but in 12.1 the Powder Vial salesman is a bit more direct about what the player needs to do-- should there be even more clear instructions?

Yeah. First I went to route 2 without the powder vial, then I went to route 2 because I thought I already had it given to me, not that I had to purchase it. The puzzle in and of itself isn't difficult at all, especially once you realize there are ledges to the side sometime.

I didn't try to go to Route 2 until after I'd been told to go buy the Powder Vial, and really, the guy was pretty clear about what you had to do with it once he sold it to you... I finished Episode 12 when it was still 12.0.

The only things that took me a while to figure out were the fact that you had to jump across the rocks to navigate the route (which the new NPC in 12.1 tells you now) and which powder I needed for what (I tried the Rage Powder before the Sleep Powder, whoops). After that it was pretty simple.

I also went south before going north, but that was just luck on my part. Went ahead and completed north too later on, anyway, just because.

I went to route 2 before just to see what pokemon would appear and to see if I could efficently grind a bit... also completed it the first day Ep. 12 was released.

Then after I was told to go through Route 2 with the Powder Vial:

*Common Sense / Gamer Sense is tingling*

- I need to use the Powder Vial here

- the path is blocked north and south... east is the circus... west are strange pillars hmmm... let's try jumping on them like in the slums... YAY!

- Oh These ones are shaky... hmmm better try not to step on these...

- A crustle nest? They spawn unlimited? sweet! ... but wait I can just leave it there? - strange...

- Two different powders? Sleep and Rage? and what is this hole in the ground? - Can I use the powder to make the Crustle sleep and push it there?

- whoops! I knew these shaky pillars were trouble... gotta get new powder and find a way around them...

- I knew it! a sleeping crustle makes a nice Plattform!

I completed the whole thing within 1 - 1 1/2 hours... not counting trainer-battles (I always fled form the few wild encounters, because I hate being interrupted during puzzles)

So I don't really know how anyone can have such problems with it, like not knowing what to do, when it is clearly said by 2 or 3 NPCs...

I thought I had the Vial too so I jumped mindlesly for quite some time. I also tried to put the Crustles to sleep with my own Pokemon.

You find out Side Ledges after trial and error, that's fine.

The thing that annoyed me was when you push down the Crustles, run down, quick save next to it, push the Crustle, make a mistake, then soft reset. And boom, for some reason the Crustle is on the upper floor and you're still on the ground.

Everything seemed 100% clear and simple to me, with one exception. It took me forever to figure out that some of the Crustles popping out of the nest were already asleep, but that I mysteriously couldn't interact with these unless I'd put them to sleep myself. I didn't realize that I needed to use rage powder on these, then spawn a new Crustle; I thought the game was just glitching. My way of handling this was to run back to Agate Circus every time I sleeping one spawned so that it would disappear. It was very frustrating. I finished nearly the entirety of route 2 this way before I figured out that rage powder actually had a legitimate use besides letting you catch Crustle. Now I feel silly .

You owe me dinner for putting me through this!

Well I didn´t have that much of a problem with the puzzle. Although it was really frustating the the perspective of those Crustle sprites doesn´t fit with the perspective of the rocks and I had to reload my save (faster than waking up the Crustle, beating it and putting it asleep again) everytime the crustle got stuck because of the perspective.
