Nova
This is a team I am currently testing. It works pretty well in both singles and doubles. It still needs some improvement, so suggestions are welcome. In addition, i still need good names for them. Feel free to comment! (credits to www.pkparaiso.com for sprites used) In-Depth: Talonflame (M) @ Flying Gem Trait: Gale Wings EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Acrobatics - Flare Blitz - Roost - Swords Dance Role: Offensive Physical Sweeper Talonflame has a 110 base power (excluding STAB and Flying Gem boost) priority move in Acrobatics, which is absolutely awesome. Flare Blitz for Stab, as well as for hitting steel-types hard. Roost to heal off damage taken/Stealth Rock Hits/recoil, and Swords Dance to improve his power even more. Amoonguss (M) @ Black Sludge Shiny: Yes Trait: Regenerator EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Foul Play - Toxic - Clear Smog - Spore Role: Special Wall/Status Support Amoonguss can take hits all day. Spore and Toxic help deal with annoying mons and walls, while Clear Smog allows for stopping stat boosters. Using Regenerator, Amoonguss can quickly switch in, use a move, and switch out again to heal. Drapion (M) @ Black Sludge Ability: Battle Armor EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef Adamant Nature - Earthquake - Poison Jab - Crunch - Swords Dance Role: Physical Sweeper Replacing Tentacruel, Drapion covers Tentacruel's weaknesses to Electric with a neutral typing and boosted Earthquakes, while the extra Dark Typing means his only weakness is Ground, which is easily covered by Mismagius and Talonflame. Crunch and Poison Jab are the STAB moves of choice, while Swords Dance increases Drapion's power even more. Mismagius (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Heal Bell - Perish Song - Shadow Ball - Will-O-Wisp Role: Support I still needed a mon with some immunities against Earthquake, which hurts most of my team pretty badly, Fake Out, which is just plain annoying, and Fighting-type moves, which especially hurt my poor Tyranitar. With other support moves like Heal Bell and Perish Song, Mismagius is an excellent supporter mon. Milotic (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Marvel Scale EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Sleep Talk - Rest - Icy Wind - Scald Role: Physical Wall/Special attacker A Rest-Talk set on Milotic works wonders for me. Icy Wind is preferred over Ice Beam because of the speed drop and spread damage in Doubles/Triples. Tyranitar (M) @ Assault Vest Trait: Sand Stream EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Crunch - Dragon Tail - Earthquake - Rock Slide Role: Physical Sweeper/Special Wall/Weather Support Sand Stream helps break through Sashes, which are an annoyance for my other mons. Tyranitar can easily switch in on special attacks thanks to Assault Vest, but falls quickly to fighting-type moves. That's where Mismagius comes in handy. Import: Talonflame (M) @ Flying Gem Trait: Gale Wings EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Acrobatics - Flare Blitz - Roost - Swords Dance Amoonguss (M) @ Black Sludge Shiny: Yes Trait: Regenerator EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Foul Play - Toxic - Clear Smog - Spore Mismagius (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Heal Bell - Perish Song - Shadow Ball - Will-O-Wisp Milotic (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Marvel Scale EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Sleep Talk - Rest - Icy Wind - Scald Tyranitar (M) @ Assault Vest Trait: Sand Stream EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Crunch - Dragon Tail - Earthquake - Rock Slide Drapion (M) @ Black Sludge Ability: Battle Armor EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef Adamant Nature - Earthquake - Poison Jab - Crunch - Swords Dance Old Team Members: Tentacruel (M) @ Black Sludge Trait: Liquid Ooze EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spd Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Sludge Wave - Scald - Haze - Rapid Spin Role: Physical Wall/Support Pretty standard Tentacruel build. Sludge Wave for Doubles/Triples and hitting Grass and Fairy Types, Scald for STAB and burns, Haze against enemy setups, and Rapid Spin for clearing away entry hazards, which mostly hurt Talonflame. Version History: 1.0- Team Created 1.1- Replaced Tentacruel with Drapion. Edited June 27, 2014 by Nova
Guest
The first thing I noticed, was that without Tyranitar, this team would be killed by a properly setup Electric type (i.e Thundurus, and with Superpower or Focus Blast it can be a hinderance to your Tyranitar as well), but that's implying it'll get taken down in the first place, and without BB on your Talonflame I wouldn't be able to tell you that it's okay. You have four bulky pokemon which makes me think that you're running a stall team, that's okay. And, uh honestly for me, there's no point in putting Dragon Tail on Tyranitar if there're no hazards. Maybe I'd split EVs between HP and SAtk on Mismagius? I dunno, I've never seen a non-offensive Mismagius before. A part of me wants you to put on Rain Dish for Tentacruel, because if you have that Politoed switch in you get the HP but. You're looking good tbh. Taska
Your team seems pretty balanced, except for one thing; your weakness to electric types. Something like an Electivire with Cross Chop and Thunderpunch or Wild Charge would completely destroy your team. Or even worse, an Eelektross with Superpower or Drain Punch, Wild Charge, or Knock Off. Also, Tentacruel has horrible defense. It's base defense is 65. That's as bad as any pokemon that hasn't evolved yet. You should change it with something like a torkoal. Torkoal has 140 base defense, one of the highest defense stats in all of pokemon! Torkoal also can learn earthquake and earth power to help against your electric weakness (which wouldn't be as bad if you used a torkoal instead of a tentacruel). You really shouldn't have so many walls on your team. You only have two "sweepers" on your team, which are Talonflame and Tyranitar (and I barely consider Tyranitar a sweeper because no speed evs are on it. Your team needs offensive support, because otherwise once Talonflame is dead a Mega Gyarados can use 2 Dragon dances and kill your whole team. Maybe a pokemon like Breloom or Machamp. Thanks for the advice. I'll swap some things out and try Breloom and Torkoal. I'll make some more changes if needed. Note that this is ultimately a team for me to take on the Reborn League, so i probably won't be facing many Legendaries.
Notus
Oh, it's a league team? Nice! Only thing I advise is to ask around if Flying Gem is still allowed, I think it was about to be banned from the league.

Taska
Yeah, but i can't update my trainer card on the site. The update-your-trainer-card-thingie takes forever to load... Actually you can't update your trainer card right now. Apparently it's because this site has switched hosts so many times.
Tenshine
I would try changing out Tentacruel for a Mega Venusaur if I were you. Try a mixed Def and SpD with max Hp build. Unfortunately you will lose rapid spin, but Megasaur will resist electric types for you, and he's just a pretty amazing tank who can still put in some work with damage. Here is the set I run, but just a disclaimer: There might be a better set for you Venusaur @ Venusaurite Ability: Chlorophyll EVs: 252 HP / 116 SDef / 140 Def Bold Nature - Sludge Bomb - Leech Seed - Synthesis - Roar

Anyway, i already have Amoonguss as a Grass/Poison type. I'll give it a try, but i doubt it'll be effective. EDIT: I did some experimenting with lots of poison-types to replace Tentacruel and Drapion seemed an excellent choice for my team. Team updated to version 1.1.
