[NU Sponge]

Maractus (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Giga Drain
- Cotton Guard
- Spikes
- Substitute

This is a variation of Erick's set, with different EV's and same moves [mostly cause these are the most effective moves, regardless of tier.] Being as this is made for NU, this set is more geared to sponging and trolling both sides of the attacking spectrum with respectable defenses [Especially after a cotton guard,] and the ability to set up 3 layers of spikes with relative ease. This maractus set is best when switching into a predicted water attack, giving its healing move a technical increase, as well as an obvious increase in damage output. Meanwhile, if you think you can take 2 or more attacks from whatever you're facing (particularly on the physical side,) use Sub and Drain away.
