P.S.S. "The Legend Of The Primal Keys"::Ch.1- A Bit Of Deception [Completed IC]

Maximus took a step back, his bright green eyes, which usually were filled with either joy or rage were now filled with a new emotion. Fear. It was very clear that Maximus and his friends were out classed here. Maximus may have fancied himself to be a fine warrior, capable of taking most opponents in a fight. But, this .... this was the sky slayer, a man of legend. He had heard much of the man in his youth, most people hated him, but he was a dragoon, a man from the Drake Veil, and as such it was true that he had something in common with Maximus. Even if that something was separated by 400 or so years.

Maximus swallowed back his fear and awe, he knew that the sky slayer had to be answered, or else he'd slaughter them in the street. "No man has called you evil here," he said, not knowing the truth of that statement, since he'd arrived well after Esmerelda and Rodriguez. "Your quarrels with Azuaqyar are your own. I personally pass no judgement on your actions against him."

Gideon takes a last bite of the apple and can't help thinking about the legend the magistrate has told him, Hmm what if it is true? iv'e been wasting my time on these sword wielding Law mans who won't even face me in a duel. He withdrew his charcoal colored sword from its covering with a cobra head carve into its pommel and held it high as it gleams through the night sky. Gideon admires his reflection on its black mirror-like blade and grins.

"Stratos..the traitor huh?the sky slayer? he certainly makes a name for himself after what he did..." he paused and sheathed his sword back as he stands up."that's it! I'm going to kill this so called resurrected God Azauqyar." he foolish thought that he can take down the city's protector. Hmm maybe i should find more reliable information about this Sky lord. Gideon squints his eyes and sees a building labeled 'Great Library of Records and Index' not to far from his location. Without hesitation the Turk leaps from rooftops to rooftops as he makes his way to the great library in the central market. He disembark on a ladder nearby and casually walks with the crowd and stops at the library's stair case. he climb the steps and makes his way through the door and knocks. "Is anybody here?" He continues to bang the door hoping that someone will answer during this time of night.

"ALWAYS travel by the roof tops if you want a quick get away!" Octavia watched as Eric spoke to the Magistrate, although she couldn't hear them up until the last sentence, which was spoken up on the roof tops by the latter. Was that done on purpose?! She thought with annoyance, taking it perhaps a bit too personally, but she was on a roll at this point. Not fair not fair not fair not fair! Octavia thought, feeling a slight temptation to throw a mini temper tantrum as she looked up at them. Even if I do make my way up there by then I would be unable to locate them after the time that would have has passed. In said time, they would have gained too much ground on me. Ergh!

Taking a deep breath she forced herself to calm down. She would continue following them for as long as fate would allow and then, she came to a realization. A great one. No wait This could work. It they continue on roof top and confront the robber, most likely, he would jump to the ground and lead the others to pursue on the roofs... A smile spread upon Octavia's face and her grip tightened on her scythe. Invisible or not, jumping from the roof at that height to the ground would make some sign of one's whereabouts, in the few seconds it would take to gather one's self, I -might- have enough time to strike... As long as I can keep up with them... And er, if I'm within range

Ko'luki smiled when he heard the Compliment about his Weapon.

"I concur with you on that bit, my good sir. As a matter of fact, I was In Town to both pick up Supplies, as I have done, and also to the Guild my latest Inventions, of which you have just seen."

the lightning coursing along Star Ripper's length ceased along with the glow around it. Stratos strapped the spear back across his shoulder with the leather strip hanging there, looking to the girl.

"Go, leave this place." he said simply. The girl nodded "thank you..." she then ran out from behind him and towards the Alley entrance. Rodrigeuz put his arm up in-front of Esmerelda as the girl passed by them, intending to hold the young woman back if necassary. the girl stopped at the entrance to the alley, gave one quick glance back at Stratos, then ran off out of sight.

a whistling noise was heard, and Esmerelda and Rodriguez turned around to find Stratos leaping backwards onto a roof top, landing smoothly and staring down at the three individuals left in the alley way.

he turned without a word, then crouched down, another whistling sound echoed into the night as he pushed off from the roof top, leaping high into the air and disappearing from sight.

Rodriguez looked at Maximus.

"so..." he said "You decided to come and help?"

The doors of the Great Library were thrown open, hitting Gideon smack in the face and knocking him to the ground as Arch Magistrate Atton stormed out, followed by Decate and Marshell. the three men stopped and looked at Gideon on the ground. not one of the said a word, they didn't have the time to ponder as to why the young man was sprawled in the dirt, they had much bigger matters to concern themselves with. they all started about their way again, heading towards the west market square.

Eric and Boho took off across the roof tops, soon leaving Octavia far behind down below on the street. Eric could sense his book somewhere up ahead, though still far from where he and Boho currently were. he looked to the Magistrate as the two of them landed on a roof after a short leap.

"We'll have the pick up our pace if we want to catch them." he said simply. Boho looked at him, asking " you know where they are?"

Eric nodded "They stole my journal too in the robbery at the shop... I've placed an enchantment on it so that I'll always be able to find it... and so long as the thief has it with them, I'll be able to find them too."

Boho nodded like a bobble-head as Eric Explained "Well, Eric," he began as the young man finished "I must say, that is some impressive fore-sight on your behalf." with that the Deputy Magistrate took off, leaping the gap to another roof top. Eric followed behind, the two men now giving active pursuit to whom ever committed this crime.

Marculo looked to Ko'Luki as he stepped out from around the counter

"Well, then sir, Allow me to take you to him." he grinned as he spoke, grateful that this man's arrival in the shop was now going to give his night some actually interesting events. he walked to a door beside the counter, unlocking it and pushing it open, revealing a short corridor with another door at the opposite ending.

"After you, my friend." he said simply

What the-- Gideon fell into the ground covered in dirt and almost withdrew his sword out of anger. He then saw the Arch magistrate from before with a bunch of man walking out of the door staring at him.He takes a good look of them before they went through the west market.

Small world... it would be foolish to challenge him now, considering i'm outnumbered and i don't know what this Giant law-man can do. besides i got bigger fish to fry. I'm going to stop this so called resurrection and wage war between the city's capitol and the diran desert.

"what a bunch of ass" he muttered. He picks him self up and sneaks pass through the library door before it closes, Gideon wonders around the library looking innocent as possible searching for someone that might help him in his further information in this so called "sky slayer" and "sky lord". He approaches the librarian's counter. "Excuse me, can you help me with my research? do you have any records or article regarding the sky slayer and Azauqyar's history?" he paused. "Oh.. and a record of the Magistrate here in Cithalos?" Gideon said with a calm monotonic voice.

Maximus gave a sigh of relief as he saw Stratos jumping away.

Rodriguez looked at Maximus. "so..." he said "You decided to come and help?"

"Yeah..." Maximus let out, "I figured you might need a hand." He let out a curt laugh, "Though I didn't think it'd be with the god damn sky slayer."

Zollivar rushed to the town as fast as he could.

"Shit!" Zollivar said angrily to him self, "Why of all times do i have to be late to the rebirth of a god!"

He kept running towards the town with a trail of dust behind him. As soon as he got the town in his sights he made a sprint to the entrance of the town. His feet felt like they were stabbing at him for running so fast. As he gets to the gate he reads a sigh saying Diran gate. Gasping for air he asked a person near by,

"Did... *gasp* I... *Wheeze* miss the... *pant* god thing...*puff*"

Zollivar than quickly reaches for his canteen and starts chugging down water.

Octavia made a slight face as she ran after them, clearly being outran and she was quickly loosing sight of them. She picked up the pace and decided to continue heading straight ahead to the area Eric and the Magistrate but she stopped dead in her tracks as a thought occurred to her; what if the thief did that on purpose, what if he knew the journal had the tracking enchantment?

She started running again, but slightly slower, preoccupied. But, would he really stop to check out his loot in the midst of a get away? He did have quite a bit of ground on us but what if he slipped it in the bag of someone else...? No, wait, it seems like they are going too fast to be unrelated to the crime. Eric and his friend picked up their pace, as I should know... Was it given to an accomplice? That may make sense, but-- ugh... Octavia stopped once more, but this time to catch her breath, partially because it was a pain to run with a large scythe in hand. This is all too much guess work, even IF they passed the book to someone else, that means it would be a pain to find them. And down here on the streets I may not see him if they are on the roof and vise versa...

Octavia started running again to the direction that she hoped Eric was. Such a big city... Perhaps we should- I should- contact some Magistrates and try to get them to look for the robber as well... No, there isn't time for that. I should just keep going and hope something good happens. With these thoughts in mind, Octavia started running faster, but slightly more to the East, deciding to take a chance.

((I'ma have to stall you for now... the damn map is taking a bit longer than I thought))

The large backed, revolving chair behind the counter turned around slowly as Gideon asked his question.... and sitting in it was a fully armored, beautiful faced magistrate with peircing green eyes, her head full of blonde, nearly shock white curls that fell down around her forehead and cheeks. she had one leg propped up on the other as she sat in the large backed chair, in her lap was a long barreled, intricately carved fusil. a strange, tiny metal hammer and plate lay in the place where the Wick should've been on the weapon. her white and grey stripped cloak draping on her shoulders, she looked up at Gideon, drumming her gauntleted fingertips on the Librarian counter as she seemed to see right through his flesh down to his very soul.

She had been assigned to man the Librarian desk tonight by Arch Magistrate Atton in order to prevent any funny business from going down here... and this man looked like especially he would be trouble.

"Very well then..." she began, her smooth voice full of authority as she Scrutinized Gideon "But answer one question first; Why would you require access to such restricted materials as Records regarding the Sky Slaying?"

Supernovae

Rodriguez nodded at Maximus

"Well, thank you for your intention..." he then looked to Esmerelda, letting go of her arm as he addressed the young woman. "We might as well go see the resurrection and the Sky Slayer's attempt to kill Azauqyar... we've both got ourselves the night off now..."

Esmerelda looked up into Rodriguez's eyes, rubbing her left arm with her hand, a bit sore from the iron death grip Rodriguez had put on her to prevent her from attacking. "You... called me your daughter..." she said simply, an accent similar to Rodriguez's now present in her voice "You... you've never done that before."

Rodriguez met her gaze. "Just because I have never called you it before," he said "does not make the fact any less true, You were barely four-teen when I found you out dying in the desert, a mere child... I took you in and raised you, gave you a bed and food and a roof over your head... taught you all that I know... does that not make me your father even if we've no blood relation?"

Esmerelda gave no response, simply turned away from Rodriguez... then started weeping silently "Whore..." she said haltingly in between her sobs "That is the same thing those bastards called me..." Rodriguez walked over and placed his hand on her shoulder, consoling her as he forgot that Maximus was even standing there. Esmerelda turned to face him, Tears streaming down her cheeks. she continued on as her sobs grew louder

"They attacked us when we were only another day away from returning to Lithania... a women with golden eyes and white hair was leading them... she wore a golden plated fusil at her hip and a scitmar on her back... she cut down my father... then shot my mother dead when she tried to create an opening for me and my brothers to get away... then she had her...bandits restrain me and forced me to watch as she slit the throat of my oldest brother, Rowe..." she broke down fully at this point, unable to continue on with the rest of what had happened, her crying now uncontrollable as she was overwhelmed by trying to remember the evil day. Rodriguez took her into his arms, her head resting on his shoulder as her tears slowly soaked into the fabric of his simple cloth shirt, leaving a dark spot in the fabric... the Bar tender's eyes held a deep type of sadness there as he stared down at her in his arms.

a Magistrate looked on as Zollivar stood winded, taking large gulps from his canteen, obviously exhausted from a long journey. "No... but it'll begin very soon." he said, turning and pointing to the north east. in the distance loomed a large domed building. "You had better get to the Holy Grounds quickly if you want to find a seat."

with that, the Magistrate returned to his patrol in the Square, looking for any suspicious activity as his striped cloak blew in the wind.

Octavia

Freyal looked behind him as he landed atop another rooftop, this one far larger and more ornate than the others around it... he looked around, spotting a skylight and walking over to it, peering into the building's interior below... he saw a beautiful young Magistrate with a head of gold and white curls sitting in a high-backed chair behind a desk, a young man with greasy hair and a tan tunic speaking to her. she looked to be drumming her fingers on the counter as the two continued the conversation, a fusil lay in her lap, her other hand resting atop it.

Freyal couldn't help but stop for a few moments and admire the woman... completely forgeting that he was supposed to be putting distance between himself and the shop incase of pursuers... though, he was sure he'd be fine... he'd already traveled a long way from the scene... and even if there were Pursuers, they'd never find him... not while the Talisman's enchantment was still activated, veiling him from sight.

"My my..." He said absent mindedly "well... aren't you a dame?" a voice echoed out from behind him on the roof top as he heard foot falls heading towards him slowly.

"I've found you, you filthy son of a two Myta whore!" Eric yelled out as he slowly approached the area that he knew his journal was in... right by this sky light here... though, he didn't see anyone... the only explanation was that they were invisible. A thought came to his mind, but he pushed it away, deeming it simply absurd... there was no way this person could be his friend Aaron... not the way that Eric had sensed the guy moving earlier... that was much faster than Aaron would be able to in his chair... that and the fact that he could hear the foot falls with every leap the guy had made.

Freyal shot a quick glance over his shoulder, seeing Eric walking over towards the sky light, his eyes trained on him as if he could see right through the enchantment on Freyal's body... he got up quickly, the time to admire the attractive magistrate below apparently over. he turned to face Eric. "Well..." he began, smirking as he drew a long bladed, curved knife from a small scabbard on the back of his belt, twirling the blade in his fingers as it glinted in the moon light, though only he could see it. "Looks like I have company... Gotta say, I'm quite impressed... you managed to actually find me." he took a step to his left, and Eric's stone cold gaze followed him as if he could see the Theif King plain as day. he took a few steps to the right...

the same thing. he let out a sarcastic sigh as he reached up and gripped the talisman, fading back into view and revealing himself visually to Eric. "Guess there's no use for invisibility right now if you can still somehow tell where I am."

Just then Magistrate Boho came soaring over head, landing smoothly behind Freyal and rolling upon impact with the roof top, spranging up with his sword drawn, it's eerie green hue pulsating in the night air.

"Why, hello there, Freyal," he began in his strange accent "You're under arrest."

Freyal looked back and forth between his two pursuers, feeling a bit sheepish that he hadn't figured out they were tailing him the whole time... he rushed out from in-between the two, stepping onto the glass of the Skylight getting into a stance where he felt he would easily be able to dodge and dance around them when they came at him.

"Under arrest, you say?" he said smirking

"Oh.... no no no no.... I simply can't allow that Mr.Lawman... " he brought up his curved knife, holding it out infront of him at the ready. Eric and Boho lifted their own weapons, Eric's scythe erupting into a crackling surge as miniature lighting bolts coursed along the golden blade, Boho's sword pulsing with an even stronger glow.

all twas silent as The three men stood there as the cold night wind rippled their clothing, locked in a two to one staring match, the tension in the air so thick one could cut it with a knife....

((Typhlosion, don't pay any mind to them up on the roof, continue talking with the magistrate behind the desk))

He would've said "thank you" to the magistrate but he was exhausted and then hearing it was about to start and having to run even more he didn't want to waste energy. Zollivar zoomed across the market place from west to east, and then he though it would probably be good to get some ale for the ceremony, so he stopped at a bar on East Market Place,

"Can I have a bottle of ale to go, and some water to fill my canteen."

He said trying hard not to gasp for air.

Gideon was stunned as his eyes makes its way the long legs of the beautiful librarian and notice the fussil in her lap. "Yes, quite.." he looks away and blushed. I can't tell her my true motives, he looks up the library ceiling and seems to heard noises coming from the roof, but he pays no attention to it.

"No need to be alarm...I suggest you lay down your weapons my lady, it makes me uncomfortable."

"This is an urgent matter. for you see i heard rumors that the Sky slayer is also alive, for He was seen in my country and threatens my fellowman, the Diran Desert's Turks" He sighed "I was send here by the sultan to gather information about this 'Sky slayer' " Gideon paused and seems to have a bitter taste in his mouth after what he said. "I believe knowing is half of the battle." said the manipulative turk with his cold blue eyes staring at the librarian.

Octavia found herself to be off in location by a few blocks but indiscernible shouts faintly reached her ears. In a big city like this, shouting was not unusual, but given the rough location, she hoped that she would find Eric at the source with the thief. As she ran towards the general area of the shout, Octavia looked up to the rooftops to keep an eye out for people on top.

Maximus had a hard time watching the embrace between Esmerelda and Rodriguez. Her story ... it was just too touching. Maximus had felt the pain of betrayal, of failure, and even physical pain, but he never had suffered true pain, the pain of loss. He always did his best to empathize with people in her position, but it was always a shallow empathy. Not that he didn't care it was just that he didn't understand. Or rather that he couldn't understand.

Maximus looked away and did his best to mind his own business until they seemed to be done with the embrace. "Perhaps, you're right," he said to Rodriguez, trying his best to keep his tone solemn, but also trying to redirect them from the current topic, "There's no point in missing the resurrection, especially not if the sky slayer intends to repeat history."

Romon looked at the man who had just burst through the doors of the now nearly empty tavern, at first he had thought the man to be the same whom Rodriguez had told to place his meal on the tab, however, he took a moment to examine the individual and realized that he and the other man had no resemblance what so ever.

The apprentice bartender simply nodded, reaching beneath the counter and retreiving a small flask of wine and another flask full of water, placing them on the bar in front of the Zollivar.

"That will be 20 Myta, Ser." he said in his strange accent as the man before him continued trying to catch his breath.

TyphlosionRulez

The Magistrate visibly relaxed a little in her chair... perhaps this man wouldn't be trouble after all. "Very well then," she began "I trust you've the emblem of the Sultan's household and a signed letter confirming this?" she looked at Gideon expectantly, waiting for the young man to validate that he was in fact on the mission he had just described to her.

Octavia

Eric was the first one to break the stare-off that had taken hold between the three men, charging towards Freyal and swinging his scythe in a long horizontal arc, the thief king leapt backwards off the sky light, dodging the blow narrowly as Eric again came charging at him, shouting furiously as he swung his scythe in another arc, casting a volley of lightning at Freyal this time, who agilely leapt up into the air and summersualted behind Eric, his knife flashing as he went to cut the young man's jugular a he came in to land from the jump, only for the deadly blow to be blocked by Boho's blade as the Deputy Magistrate surged forward faster than lightning, knocking the knife off it's course and slaming his fist into Freyal's gut, sending the man reeling backwards in pain as Eric thanked Boho and the two men turned and raised their weapons as Freyal stumbled and landed on the ground. they went in charging, bringing down their blades towards his head as Lupai reached into his pocket and activated the scarlet jewel there, focusing the effect on Eric and Boho before him...

Eric turned his blade quickly in the air, his eye's now a cold blue just like Freyal's were. Boho saw the attack coming, and broguht his sword around to the side, blocking it as he slide backwards, putting distance between him and the young man. "What are yo doing, Eric!?" he called out as the young man charged towards him now, shouting in a murderous rage as his blade glowed indigo with electricity. Boho blocked it, and the two men were soon engulfed in a battle of their own against each other, Eric constantly attacking and Boho blocking and countering.

Freyal let out a laugh as he got up to his feet, watching the two duel back and forth. Boho shouted at him as he blocked another blow from Eric's weapon. "What have you done to him, you Criminal!?" Freyal looked the magistrate right in the eyes as he pulled out the scarlet jewel and held it up for him to see.

"His mind is now mine." he stated simply as an evil grin spread across his face. at that moment, a voice echoed out from behind Freyal. "That may be true," it said "But your ass is mine now, Marca!!"

Freyal, stunned to have ever been called that name again, turned slowly to see who this new comer to the fray was...

And standing there, a blade of gold and platinum drawn and humming with a soft white light in the night...

...

...

was Deric.

Four other men stood behind him, of which one with glasses had a long barreled fusil aimed at Freyal's chest, another in a cloak with a hood pulled over his head had a large gleaming bow aimed at his forehead.

Deric turned to face them "Marshall, Decate, Jez, Royce... stay back. this is my fight." he said. the four men merely nodded, Decate and Marshall lowered their weapons.

Deric stepped forward, anger plain as day on his face as he spoke. "I thought you were dead... guess I was wrong, but I'm going to fix that right now..."

He charged at Freyal, his blade coming up in a wide stroke. the Thief King blocked the blow with his curved knife, sparks issuing forth as the weapons clashed and the two were brought face to face. his loathsome grin persisted as he looked Deric in the eye and spoke, mockingly "Of course... you were always the best, Deric... always the one that everyone hailed..." he thrust his knife upward, repelling the sword and ending the weapons contact as he gave an arrogant, spiteful look to Deric.

"Tell me... Why did Lucretia choose you? If she had just loved me, then she'd still be alive and well..." he said mockingly, though a bit of saddness tinted the last part. for some reason, this remark sent Deric over the edge. he said nothing, merely shouted in a rage as he flew towards Freyal, his humming blade again clashing with his one-time friend's knife and sending a new stream of sparks lighting up the night sky as the two men began dueling back and forth, Deric using a heavily refined and intricately disciplined style of sword play, Freyal countering with his own reckless, street forged style, their steel singing and a storm of sparks flying as they fought.

"Thanks." He said as left the building. He then hurried up Nix street and into the holy grounds where he found a spot with a nice view open. He sat down filling his canteen with water and chugging the rest of the bottle. He then opened his other bottle and waited for the rebirth of a god.

Gideon slowly steps back from the counter. Crap i haven't thought this through, well there no turning back now. let see if worst comes to the worst. Gideon analyze his situation. his eyes caught something in the corner, a door down the hall near the librarian study(restricted wing). Gideon plans his escape. hmm.. a gun is faster than any blade no question about that, a flintlock musket eh? it takes time to reload that thing. i'm nimble enough to outrun that thing considering we Turks are built for speed , i'm not sure if i'll get hit, but i'll just have to take that risk. I'll just bait her there.

Gideon keeps his cool. "Here i have the emblem crest of the Sultanate" he reaches down his pocket and shows it to the armed librarian. Gideon started his little bluff "As for the letter.. I don't have any. But i can assure you have my word, The Diran desert are know for their loyalty. We're only here to secure our own people. I must warn you madam, i didn't came here alone. i have a backup waiting outside ready to bust down this place as soon as they hear a gunshot. Don't test us." said Gideon with a straight face and was dead serious.

the Magistrate examined the emblem patch in Gideon's hand as he explained. Well... it's legitimate... at least the patch is... she thought to herself. that's when she heard the man say that he didn't have a letter... and that set up all the red flags she needed to see. she leaned forward on the counter, bridging her hands together and resting her chin on them as she listened to what she now knew had to be a complete lie. She smiled slightly when Gideon finished. She looked up at him, a playful gleen in her dark emerald eyes. Might as well make him trip up in his own lie... no letter, please... the fool's trying to get into the place and he wasn't even smart enough to check up on the protocols...

"Alright then, ser..." she began, her voice had a bit of mischief in it as she feigned curiosity "Please, Do tell me though, before I take you to the archives... is the threat posed to the Sultanate by the Sky Slayer truly so great that the Sultan would send his entire Personal Guard, the best contemporary warriors produced by the country, to retrieve information for him?"

Octavia caught her breath after successfully locating the people she was pursuing. She found them, and then some, for there were a lot of people there that she didn't recognize. It was a pretty confusing scene for Octavia, who was silently cursing at herself for not explaining herself better from the start. She figured that if she did, she might have been able to come along with Eric in pursuing the robber from the roof tops rather than struggling to follow from the streets below. Surely then she wouldn't be as confused as she was now, seeing two people she didn't recognize sparring and for some reason, Eric, who was attacking a magistrate.

Seeing that she was unable to do anything from her position, Octavia leaned on her scythe, the end with the blade touching the ground as she held onto the pole with her right arm twisted around it and by her side. She stood in such a way that she was able to move quickly if she needed to, but was relatively relaxed for the moment. A somewhat childish scowl was on her face as she could somewhat see - and definitely hear- the fights that were going on.

Gideon keenly observes the librarian as she thinks about what he said and questions him. Why is she smiling? here tone seems different.. lack of authoritative figure from before. its like shes mocking me. Gideon feeling uneasy and has a bad feeling about this as he steps back even more and prepares for the worst.

"Yes i suggest you do not question the Sultan's good judgement, its an insult to us." Gideon still uses his former country's name to reason with the Librarian. "but with all do respect madam, my brother and sister are on the verge of annihilation from this treat, we'll leave as soon as i get the information needed to defend my country. I suggest lets get this over with." The Turk paused and continues his lie. "Like i said do not test us." He paused for a while as the library is filled with silence. "Or better yet do not test me. I'm one of the best." Gideon said calmly with a bit of threat in his monotonic tone.

The Magistrate held her poise, not phased by this claim to be the best this foolish man had just made. she spoke, what sounded to be genuine curiosity filled her voice this time... she had had enough of this charade though... time to force him to slip up...

"Peace, Ser..." she began cautiously, as if she actually meant it "I mean not to test you... it is simply that... You lack a letter, as is protocol for rulers to send with their envoys when retrieving materials from this library; it's a matter of security, you see, a letter ensures that the authority of a a head of state actually approved and is endorsing the mission, and that the person requesting isn't simply tossing around their name in order to get what they seek..." she stood up at that point, slowly placing the fusil that had been in her lap on the desk. she walked out from behind the librarian's counter and out in front of it, crossing her arms and leaning back on the thing as she continued.

"However, if the threat is so great that Sultan Mehmed III would send his entire personal guard force, then I think it not impossible that he did so in such a hurry that he could not draft a letter of authentication. however... before I can allow you access to the materials, I'm afraid I must speak to Ser Lemore, leader of the seven wariors of the Sultan's personal Guard force; which if, as your patch suggest, you are indeed a member of the force, then he and your fellow members are travelling alongside you... as the motto of the Turks is; United we stand. if one of you was dispatched here, then all other members were as well..."

She smiled genuinely at Gideon, a warm smile, in stark contrast to the piercing coldness of her eyes. "Forgive me, Ser..." she said "Tis nothing personal... I merely have my own job to think about as well; were I to allow you in without authentication, and you turned out to be lying and were not sent by Mehmed III, then I would be in search of new occupation by tomorrow morning."

Amelia watched with a slight awe as her blood receded back into her body. Her hysterics following suit. She immediately felt foolish for overreacting, but was duly relieved to have been healed. "Thank y-" Her thanks was cut off as the man's head rolled to the side. It was such a small job, surely he couldn't be exhausted. "Um, sir, are you okay?" She asked nervously, looking about for assistance and also to check if anyone might think she had harmed him.

Maximus nodded at Rodriguez, understanding their need to be alone for a moment. He turned and began to walk down the walk-way, before stopping suddenly. He turned back to the bartender, a glint of happiness in his eye, "Thank you ... for showing a stranger hospitality." His face turned to a smile, "You are a true friend, and I am in your debt."

He turned again and ran from the alley way full sprint. Tonight could be a night that historians talked about. At first Maximus had thought it may be just a ploy by the church to try and retain power. Resurrection didn't happen, but after seeing the Sky Slayer himself? This resurrection was happening, and tonight would be a night to remember.

A wild bolt flung towards Freyal, right between him and Deric, barely missing both of the men. If Boho saw it he would have recognized that gaudy bolt anywhere. "Looks like I finally caught up to you boys!" Sinbad exclaimed "Mind If I ask ye a favor there criminal man? Could you hold still just a second so I can plant a blot in yer 'ead, would make this a hell of a lot faster."
