Sutoratosu
Masterweavile898 Aaron opened his eyes slowly, a bit dazed from what he'd just been shown... he looked to the women groggily. "Oh... um, sorry about that..." he began cautiously, considering whether or not to tell her about his visions... then deciding against it, this women was a complete stranger... not that the information about his visions were exactly something that could be used against him if the knowledge fell into certain hands, but even still... it was a quite unusual thing, something that that should've been impossible in fact... the heads of the magicks department could hardly believe him and Samiel when they had told them upon Aaron's arrival to Cithalos to begin his apprenticeship... so how could he expect this women, who probably had only an average knowledge in magicks and the sphere's workings, to believe him? "I... I seem to have dozed off a bit there... it's been a... long day." he said, lying Snap Crackle Pop, Typhlosionrulez & Hukuna On the roof of the Great Library... Freyal turned quickly, setting his sights on the man who had a crossbow now pointed towards him in the distance... he shot a quick glance over to where Boho and Eric continued to Duel, their weapons clashing over and over again as Boho obviously held himself back, trying not to use lethal force against the young man. Deric, not letting this opportunity that Sinbad's distraction had created, came rushing in from behind, shouting as he brought his sword about from the side, making a sweeping stroke aimed straight for Freyal's neck. Freyal noticed and turned quickly, ducking to try to avoid the blow; however, the moment Deric saw him move, his hand shot out and grabbed the pendent around the Theif's neck as a clattering sound of metal on stone sounded, his clenched fist holding him there on his knees, forcefully staring up into Deric's eyes as he raised his blade, leveling the tip with Freyal's left eye, pulling his arm back in preparation to strike him dead... at that very moment, a bolt of lightning cracked through the air, arcing right in between Deric and Freyal, burning through the small chain that the Pendent around Lupai's neck had been hanging on, and allowing the Thief King to roll away and spring back to his feet as Deric recoiled on reflex, snatching his hand away from the bolt as it passed him and arced onward into the night sky. Eric, still under Lupai's influence, was preparing to fire off another bolt from his scythe's blade when Boho rushed foward and knocked the weapon out of his hands, saving Deric's life as the thing clattered down to stones of the Street below... though, the thing nearly hit Octavia as it fell, landing right beside her, the blade losing it's electric blue-hue as it lay on the stones of the street. Back up on the roof, Deric opened his fist, looking down at the pendent that lay in his palm, recognizing the piece of jewelry instantly... he looked up at his brother, who was backing away, his knife on the ground by Deric's foot, apparently Freyal had dropped it when he'd been grabbed. "How did you get this from Aaron?" he demanded as he tucked the talisman into his sword's scabbard, the thing sliding down from the opening and landing at the bottom. Freyal looked back and forth between him, the man with the crossbow who had arrived, and Boho and Eric as they dueled... he could try to continue fighting... but he was sorely outnumbered... and this new arrival was out to kill him as well it seemed... he quickly weighed his options, deciding it was best to retreat... the only question was: How? they had him surrounded... there was no way he'd make it to the ledge of the roof and onto another building before that Sniper, not to mention his bunch of former friends, Marshall and Decate, would be able to get off shots at him... and with the talisman now in Deric's possession... simply disappearing and slipping out of the scene was not an option anymore... then he remembered the Skylight... it didn't seem like the glass was too thick... if he feel on it with his full weight then maybe... He turned and bolted toward the thing as fast as he could, a gun shot could be heard as Decate stood nearby, his fusil raised and smoking at the end of the barrel, though the shot missed Freyal by a few inches... a silver arrow whizzed by his face, graving him and leaving an ugly, bleeding cut on his cheek, but he ignored the irratating stinging pain from cut's exposure to the air, intentionally tripping himself up and falling towards the glass of the Skylight, colliding into the pane with the full impact weight of his body, the thing shattering into a thousand shards with a loud Crash!! as he fell through and into the Library below, Effectively escaping from the roof and his pursuers as Deric called out in a fury, rushing and forward trying to prevent Freyal's escape "Nooo!!!!" --------------------------------------------- in the library... Freyal hit the the floor, barely managing to tuck himself into a roll to prevent breaking himself on impact, he sprang up a bit unsteadily, and dashed towards the doors of the place, exiting and escaping into the darkened streets before neither Gideon nor the young Magistrate could react. The Magistrate's attention was stolen away from her interaction with Gideon as the smile on her face faded away and her dark emerald green eyes immediately shot up to the broken glass pane in the roof as she reached for her fusil behind her, snatching it up off the counter and holding it at the ready in her arms... a few seconds later, a familiar face appeared, gazing down at her. "Deputy Boho?" she asked, puzzled "What the hell is going on? Who was that who just fell through the roof?" ------------------------------------------- on the roof... Eric's eyes faded back to their normal green as soon as Freyal was no longer on the roof... he looked at Boho, who was already next to the Broken skylight, peering down and calling something to someone in the library below "that was the King of the Thiefs, Freyal Lupai!" from down below, a young women's voice echoed in surprise "WHAT!?" if one were where Boho was near the skylight or where Gideon was down in the library, they'd be able to see as the young magistrate turned and rushed for the door, throwing it open in a flash and about to dash out into the night in hot pursuit... Boho called out to her before she could step a foot out the door however "It's now use now, Cesealia!" he called. again puzzled, the young women stopped and looked back up at him as he explained "by now, that bastards probably at one of the city gates... this pursuit is over... he'll gone long before we would be able to find him now..." down below, Cesealia reluctantly shut the door, grinding her teeth as she walked back over to the librarian counter... Great... this is probably gonna go on my record now... she thought angrily as she stared up at the hole in the ceiling. back on the roof, Boho turned around back towards those assembled there, noticing Sinbad there. "Well," he began, smirking a little "look whose here, it's ol Sinbad!" Edited September 4, 2014 by Stratos
Raindrop Valkyrie
"Oi, Boho, still looking as great as ever mate." he said, returning a smile. "Thought I was going to miss the party there for a bit, shame the bastard got away though."
Snap Crackle Pop
As the scythe fell, Octavia jumped back a few extra steps back for safety's measure, cursing slightly, for it fell just a little too close for her likings. Flying scythes are always funner with a bit more explaination... She thought, wanting clairifycation as to why Eric was attacking the magistrate, although she figured it was not by his own will. Seeing that the weapon was Eric's and he would probably want it back, she picked it up for him, holding it in her other hand before backing up more to see a clearer veiw of things on the roof. She could somewhat make out some of the words that were spoken, but no complete scentances were heard. What she did definately hear was a loud crash and the sound of shattering glass. Was that...? Octavia ran around the side of the Library to see a figure running before disappering in the streets but she didn't pursue because she saw that whoever it was had far too much ground on her as well as more knowledge of the city. Damn it! Really? If I was closer to the entrance I could have- She stopped herself from ranting, she might not have been able to do anything even if she was standing by the door anyway. Octavia returned her scythe to it's place on her back, although, she still had Eric's in hand. Backing up and lining herself up so that she was as close to the people on the roof as she could while still having them in view, she called out. "Oi!" She shouted, cupping one hand around her mouth so they could here her from their distance. "I have your scythe"
Shamitako
Amelia felt like this man was hiding something, but decided not to dwell on it, he'd saved her life after all. "It's fine." She said, "You just had me a bit spooked." She giggled nervously. No one had ever done anything for her without asking something in return, it felt rather strange. "You have my humble and eternal thanks. If there's anything you need?" She asked, wanting to repay him. Then it finally occurred to her to ask nis name. "By the way, I'm Amelia, or Milly for short, who might you be?" She said, holding out her hand.
Ragnar
Gideon stands back and remains his position as he watches the whole thing unfold. things got a bit interesting. He combs his long greasy hair backwards and approaches the pissed librarian as she returns to her counter. "Tough night.." Gideon leans on the counter crossed arms. "A lying turk and the king of thieves showing up at the same night causing trouble. what are the odds. I guess i'm not getting those information now huh?" Gideon mockingly said. "If its any of consolation,I apologize on what happen before. Ill tell you who i am." "my name is Gideon Markov, There is no back-up, I come here on my own, I'm not a member of the guard force. that badge that i just show you was actually from my deceased father.the 8th member of the guard force who got killed by the same people he loyally serve with. I may not be the best, but i'm trained by one." Cesealia huh? why do you value this job so much my lady? why do you stop chasing him instead of following your own gut? you know, you can still catch him, I'm sure he's somehow injured after that fall." Sutoratosu
Hukuna Boho walked over as he spoke "Yep... it sure is a damn shame... that was Freyal Lupai, the king of all thiefs... there's bounties on him all across the world." he turned and storked his chin as he stared off over the edge of the building at the darkened streets below "The bastard's got more skills than anyone else in what he does... he memorizes a cities layout before he begins his spree of crimes there, every nook and cranny... every alley way and street and major business... that's why there's no way we'd be able to catch up with him now..." he turned his gaze to Eric, who stood nearby, staring up at the moon and grinding his teeth. "Eric over there can track him so long as Lupai has a certain piece of his personal property in his possession... but like I said, we can't catch up now...he'd be out of the city bounds and our jurisdiction by the time we would be able to close in on him again..." Snap Crakle Pop as Boho spoke with Sinbad nearby, Eric gazed up angrily at the full moon, contemplating what had just occurred... in his mind's eye, he could sense as his journal moved farther and farther away... it seemed like the man carrying it was incredibly fast... Freyal... The Thief King... he thought to himself as the book drew farther and farther off his radar... soon it was so far he could barely sense it at all. I will hunt you down... I will find you... and I when i do... Just then a voice echoed from the street below... someone shouting something about them having found a scythe... he walked over to the ledge, peering down and seeing a familiar young women on the street below... she was the same one from the shop.... and in her hand was Eric's golden bladed scythe. he simply stared at her for a few minutes, his emotions a mix of anger and indifference... but he pushed it aside for now... he didn't know how the hell his scythe had fallen out of his hands and into the street, but if he wanted it back, he figured he'd have to make this women want to return it to him... "Well," he called down to her, his voice emotionless as were his eyes "Thank you for finding it." Masterweavile898 Aaron glanced over his shoulder as he answered, noticing that neither Deric nor Samiel were in the square any longer... "My name is Aaron," he said simply as he reached out and shook Milly's hand "And there's no need to thank me... I'm sure you would've done the same for me if our places were swapped..." he cast another glance over his shoulder, this one nervously... after what he'd seen just now... what he'd been shown... the memory was still fresh in his mind... He looked back to milly as the memory flashed across his mind, trying not to reveal how vexed he was by it "I'm sorry..." he began "But I really must get going now... I have to find my mentor, it's... quite important..." with that he turned his chair and willed it to take him forward... he had no idea where Deric or Samiel had gone... but then if he did, he wouldn't have to look for them, now would he? He stopped his chair, looking up at the city skyline in the night... he could see people on the roof of the library... and he could just make out Deric among them what the hell happened while I was out? he thought to himself as his chair again began moving, this time towards the Great Library... Typhlosionrulez Cesealia looked at Gideon, her voice full of irritation as she spoke "Oh," she said "So you've finally decided to end the horse shit story you were telling me earlier and admit the truth?" she walked behind the desk and sat back down in the high back chair, tossing her fusil onto the counter and drumming her fingers as she rubbed her temple with the other hand "well, what was your name again, Gideon? it's about time you ended that charade... I knew you were lying the minute you said you didn't have a letter... for someone who wants to infiltrate a secure area, you really skipped on the practice of checking the place's protocols..." she leaned back in her chair, putting her boot's up on the desk beside her fusil, their metallic surfaces shining brightly in the light. her eye's and face were unreadable as she glanced to the door that Freyal had dashed out of. "As for why I value my job so much, I've worked far too hard to get to where I am to simply throw it all away... if I were to ignore my orders and leave my post to pursue him, then that would be Insubordination..." Shamitako
It was true, Amelia would have helped without a second thought or wish for repayment. Even so, she felt the need to do something. She realized suddenly that Aaron had moved off. "Wait!" She called, jumping from her seat. He was surprisingly fast and confident for having to wheel himself about like that. "I have to do something." She said, "You're right that I would have done the same, but I owe you my life, and my life is worth a lot to me. There must be somethii..." Milly trailed off as she caught sight of what Aaron was staring at. "What in the pit..." She muttered. There was some kind of meeting being conducted, on a roof. Amelia's eyesight wasn't perfect, and she was definitely out of hearing range, but something was happening there. "What can you see?" She asked, "I can't make too much out. Do you recognize anyone?" It was a longshot, but maybe someone up there would be well known to the public or something.

Ragnar
"Is your job so important to you let a most wanted criminal go!?" Gideon yelled with the sharpness of his voice. "That's not what i saw a moment ago, you chase him as soon as you find out he's the King of thieves. until that Deputy stops you and you held back." Gideon looks back at magistrate while the leaning on the desk. Gideon faces the counter and sighed. "What if i say i'm here to steal those information for my personal gain? but i never sneak pass you and still talking to you until this very moment waiting for your confirmation." Gideon's head signals the Librarian to get her fusil "Go on" he said "What does your protocol says about that since you're bound by it!?" He said calmly . The Turk raised both of his hand the air.Gideon lets the magistrate decide his fate. "I just wanna know why Stratos did it? What if this sky lord turns his back on the world after his resurrection just like my sultanate turn their back on one of their own? it is possible and somewhere behind this library lies his untold story of the Skyslayer just like my father's injustice." "I can assure you my intentions are pure, driven by my personal vendetta but only to those who deserve it." said sincerely said as He turns his back still raising his hands while clutching his head waiting for Cesealia's response. Sutoratosu
Masterweavile898 ((His chair floats, it doesn't have wheels.)) Aaron again stopped as he heard a familiar voice echo out, turning to see that Amelia was behind him, looking up at the Library roof. he sighed inaudibly as he thought to himself... Well... no use trying to get rid of her... "The one holding the white sword... His name is Deric...the four others standing with him are Marshall, Decate, Jezicalo, and Royce." he stated simply, answering Amelia's question. Hukuna "Actually..." Boho began, sheathing his glowing blade... not like there was any reason to keep it out now "Sinbad, ma friend, there's a bounty in just about every part of the world on Lupai's head... though some of them want him taken in alive, you'd have to check with the Local Magistrate's office about it whenever you entered a new locale..." he put his hands up to his hips, looking up to the moon and sighing. "Well..." he said "looks like it's nearly time...the resurrection's gonna be beginning in a few minutes..." Typhlosionrulez Cesealia bolted up from the chair, knocking it over onto the ground. she looked the young man straight in the eye's, a smoldering anger visible there as she spoke "Oh, I'm sorry," she began, her voice heavily laced with sarcasm "I had no idea you were an expert on enforcing the law; tell me, what would you have the Cithalos Magistrate office do? mobilize a massive man hunt for Lupai? and then what, have every single Law person in this city out wasting their time, not to mention valuable resources, chasing after a man who would be more efficiently caught by simply waiting for the next time he surfaced and studying his habits, looking for everything we can use to cause him to trip up and make a mistake; allowing all manners of crime to run rampant in their absence? I thought not." her gaze grew even harsher "A bit of advice, leave the fucking law enforcement to the men and women wearing the white and grey. they do a much better job at it then you could ever hope to." with that bit cleared up, her stare only grew even more harsh; she was obviously quite angry at Gideon... some little desert rat who had come in and tried (and failed) to by-pass her with a horse shit fairy tale of a story about how he'd been dispatched here by the Sultan, which, had it have worked, would've lost her everything she'd work for to claw her way up from nothing, and now he was standing here, trying to tell her to disobey a direct order, which would have the same result... she had had enough of this man's company. "Alright, Gideon" she said "I'll tell you why the sky slayer did it; killed Azauqyar: he isn't evil like all the legends about him state, quite simply, he's insane. he thinks that Azauqyar is hell bent on destroying the human race, which has no logical argument to back it up; if he was simply going to destroy us, then why didn't he sit back and just watch as the Men if Nix began to hunt the last humans down thousands ago? why go to all the trouble, the theocracy, the church, Cithalocism, why give mankind so much knowledge, if all he wanted was to see our world covered in nothing but ashes?" her hand was now on the fusil on the desk, she must've been moving it over to it as she had been talking. "Now," she said "You have what you want, so get the hell out." Edited July 4, 2014 by Stratos
Snap Crackle Pop
Octavia gave a light nod, returning the general coolness. Looking around and seeing that there wasn't really an easy path to the Library's roof, she took a breath of air, thinking briefly before choosing her next course of action. Examining the scythe for the button that expanded the handle earlier, she pressed it and watched as the handle retreated. Octavia took a few steps back, quickly calculating the amount of force would be best and choosing a good place to aim so it would be easiest to catch with no accidents, she threw the scythe. Octavia couldn't help herself as a slight smile flickered on her face from the idea of throwing scythe upwards to a group of people, handle retracted as it was. Ragnar
Gideon listen as the angered Librarian scolded him behind his back. "Oh don't worry your magistrate, lord Azauqyar will bring justice to this Lupai person! we just need to worship and rely on him for the next 4000 years or so." He mockingly said and release a small chuckle. "bunch of tools" he muttered so lowly Cesealia can't hear him. "You raise some valid points there, maybe somethings are better off unknown." Gideon sighed and turns around. "I need a place to stay." Gideon completely ignore the armed magistrate and went straight towards the counter and leans to the corner wall."I might as well keep you company. if that's Okay with you? you wouldn't want to shoot an innocent traveler using the public library out of anger, now would you ma'am? cause it would be out of your protocol and it greatly affect your status, right?" Gideon calmly said."Besides" He looks at the shattered skylight "It's almost time." Edited July 4, 2014 by typhlosionrulez
Shamitako
(OOC: Yeah, whoops, I kinda auto-use the verb wheel for anything like that) ...... Decate. That was the guy Loopy had mind-controlled, wasn't it? Amelia wondered how Aaron knew him. "Wait, Decate. I met a guy with that name earlier." She paused, debating how much to say, "Some Loopy guy took something from his master, Samson or something, and then mind-controlled him. We... Didn't leave off on good terms. I kinda laughed in his face. Then some big atom guy took them away to look for Loopy." Milly squinted, now she could pick out a bit more, since she knew what to look for, but she couldn't recognize faces from quite this far. She found herself uncertain of what to do now. Sutoratosu
Snap Crackle Pop The golden scythe blade flew through the air after Octavia tossed it, clattering to the roof of the Library beside Eric's feet. he reached down and picked it up by the retracted handle on the back of the blade, pulling something off the back of his belt; a sheath made of leather and hide, and slide the blade into it, reattaching the thing to his waist, where it now hung in front of his left pants thigh. his black hair and black and gold Apothecary guild uniform rippling in the wind as he looked down at the young women on the street... "I guess I should... apologize for the way I treated you following the robbery..." he began "I am sorry for losing my... composure and being curt with you, miss." Typhlosionrulez Cesealia simply glared hatefully at Gideon as the arrogant young bastard didn't leave, but instead actually walked over at leaned on the nearby study counter. "You won't be able to see the resurrection from here..." she said, her voice seemingly apathetic now "So it really makes no sense for you to stay here. the holy grounds are just across a few dozen meters away from here, you'd have an actual viewing opportunity there." her eyes took on a yellow hue as the chair on the floor shot back upright and positioned itself beneath her as she sat back down in it, taking her hand away from the fusil but still rubbing her temple in irritation. she wanted this man gone, and she wanted him gone now. "I suggest you get going, now, if you're interested in the ceremony... " she continued, trying to convince him to get out while she reached down and removed the gauntlet from her right arm, placing it on the desk next to her fusil and flexing her fingers, as if checking to see if they still worked. "there's barely ten or so minutes before it starts... if you leave now you might be able to find a good perch to watch from." as she spoke, her now bare fore arm and hand began to glow with an electric white energy, a similar, albeit fainter, hue was in her eyes as well... a few seconds later, her palm was alive and crackling with a small sphere of pure white lightning that rotated slowly in the air as she focused on the Aria of the Dawn, maintaining the thing easily... if this man did not leave, and soon, then she would force him to leave with Lenach... and he would probably not survive the latter if he had any metal on his body... ((Cesealia's done playing around. it's best to just take the advice and go to the holy grounds. if you try to stay, I will not have any qualms about her severely injuring Gideon (He won't be killed, but it will not be pleasent for him for the few minutes that the wounds would last before being restored by...no spoilers))) Masterweavile898 Aaron continued to gaze up at Deric and his entourage as Milly spoke. he glanced back at her "the name of the theif who broke into my Mentor, Samiel's, home in the early hours of this morning was named Lupai, not loopy." he said, returning his attention to the roof top, willing his chair to move forward down the street, making sure to go slow enough so that Amelia wouldn't have to walk very fast to keep up, he was fairly confident in his ability to heal, but he figured he might as well give her a break encase the job wasn't fully done and some unseeable internal trace of the hobbling gash still remained "the four men up there with Deric were all sent to hunt him down and recover what he took... I'm guessing that they did just that." Edited July 4, 2014 by Stratos
Shamitako
Amelia giggled, she knew Lupai's name, she just felt like making fun of him. It seemed this was indeed the same Decate as before. She walked alongside Aaron. "I'd guess they failed, Loopy's pretty slippery." She said bitterly, "There's a reason I'm broke." She was a bit sore over letting someone like that best her. She mayn't have had any claims to being a master thief- Any reputation she had was based on the items she had returned, not those she had stolen. And it wasn't much of a reputation, she was only really known among certain circles onthe streets who admired her, and half of them thought she was male. She expected most would have Lupai's reaction to her. One of contempt and superiority. Not that she cared, not unless they insisted on lording themselves over her as Lupai had. -But she still hated the fact that he'd beaten her. #massivetangent
Snap Crackle Pop
Octavia nodded, accepting the apology. "That was understandable, given the circumstances, I probably would have reacted similarly," she said. Still, she was grateful that was cleared up, and now at least there was little chance of him knowing she tried to read his diary- so long as she didn't slip up speaking. Ragnar
Gideon glanced at her and slowly starts to walk away from the counter. "Okay, i think i wasted your time quite enough, i'm not really interested some boring ceremony, i'm interested in what the sky lord is going to do after." Gideon stops and stares blankly at Cesealia "If its for the greater good of mankind then so be it, I guess i was wrong, maybe the sky slayer is just another wack job according to you. maybe i am too." he release a small chuckle. "It seems you have all the answers to everything, magistrate Cesealia. you rely on your knowledge too much you are blinded by it. I hope you're prepare when the time comes when your logic, your laws and your knowledge fails to speak." Gideon said with a sharp tongue looking straight at the magistrate. "Anyways, i'm done being a douche. sorry you have to deal with my non-sense." Gideon humbly apologize and walks away. Sutoratosu
Masterweavile898 Aaron called up to Deric as he and Amelia got closer to the library "Deric!" he yelled "What's going on!?" Deric scanned the streets, unable to see where the voice had come from, he knew it was Aarons. his eye's finally fell upon the young man down below on a nearby street, followed by a stranger who appeared to be another young man... at first Deric's protectiveness kicked in immediately and he nearly ordered Aaron to get away from the stranger, but he stopped himself before the words could come issue forth, noticing how Aaron and this stranger were walking side by side, at the same pace. whoever this person was, it was unlikely they we're a common mugger stalking another victim. "We almost caught Lupai." Deric called down as he handed his blade to Decate nearby, who took it silently as he then proceded to remove his sword's scabbard, holding it upside down above his palm and shaking it as something shiny fell out. "He managed to get away at the last minute, though..." Deric tossed the shiny object in his hand to Aaron down below as he spoke, the boy reached out his hand, catching the object smoothly and bringing it up to examine with his eyes, which opened wide in surprise as soon as he recognized it. "this..." he began, a bit uncertainly "This is the Talisman I just finished working on..." Deric took his sword back from Decate after he refastened the scabbard onto his hip, sliding the blade in with a silent Click! "It is." he said simply, another breeze picking up and rippling his hair and clothes "Lupai somehow stole it from you earlier today." Deric then changed the focus of the conversation... he'd given enough mention to his brother. "Whose your friend?" he asked, eyeing Amelia down below, and now that the two were a bit closer, he realized from her gait and the way she carried her shoulders when she walked that she was probably a women. "Or, should I say, Your lady friend?" a slight smirk appeared on his face as he asked the question. Snap Crackle Pop Eric walked over to the ledge and took a seat there, his legs dangling out in the night air as he answered Octavia. "I have a certain enchantment on it..." he said simply "It allows me to mentally track where ever my journal goes." a slight smile broke onto his face as he looked up at the sky "And I've got another on it that'll stop anyone but myself or those I trust enough to give permission to from reading it's contents..." he leveled his gaze back on Octavia, his emerald green eye's glinting in the light of the moon "You know..." he began haltingly "I wouldn't have any issues telling you how I caught the attention of the Guild, If you still want to hear it." ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Shortly after Gideon left the library and the door closed behind him, a bolt of electricity slammed into it, leaving a large blast mark on the mahogany surface. Cesealia lowered her outstretched palm, the electricity there slowly dissipating as she walked out from behind the counter... that little desert rat's last comments had sent her completely over the edge, he was lucky the door closed behind him when it did, because she had fired that bolt of lightning with every intention of killing him. she leaned on the counter, taking a deep breath and trying to calm her boiling rage, with little success. Nix fucking Dirossi vagrants... she thought to herself 'When your logic, laws, and knowledge fail to speak'... please... she glanced over angrily at the door, her eye's stormy and forboding I'd be surprised if that Desert Rat would even know how to fucking read the tombs if I'd given him the materials he was requesting... she decided it right then and there... She would probably kill this 'Gideon' if she ever saw his face again... the sheer amount of disrespect he'd shown not only her, but also the entire office of law she served and even God himself... simply disgusting. there'd be no forgiving it on her part... and the best part was that she would probably get away with it... she could always simply say it was self-defense or that she was acting to protect the life of an innocent... she was a magistrate afterall, if she said that, and the scene provided sufficient evidence to make it apparent, then no one would question her word... it was while pondering her dark thoughts that a voice called out to her from nearby "Now now, deary, do not let your heart become tainted with thoughts of committing evil... for darkness only begets further darkness; murder begets murder." Cesealia sprang up from the counter, realizing the voice was coming from right behind her. she turned quickly, seeing a kindly old woman sitting in the high backed chair. "H...how..." she began, stuttering a little... "How did you get in here without my noticing!?" the elderly woman simply grinned warmly. "You anger clouded your mind," she began "But even still, you would never have been able to sense my arrival here, for doors and floors are not my method." the scent of wild sage and mint wafted through the air, and Cesealia found that her anger was now completely gone, replaced by a strange sort of... calm. "I...Who are you?" she asked simply, stepping up to the counter. the old women continued smiling warmly "Now that," she said "is a matter for another time, Cesealia." Cesealia took a step back, surprised as to how this elderly woman could possibly know her name. a moment later, she was gone, the smell of wild herbs still hanging in the air. the highbacked chair was now vacant... but her disappearance was not the strangest thing... the seat's cushion had no depression in it as it should've... it was as if no one had been sitting there at all. Snap Crackle Pop
"It allows me to mentally track where ever my journal goes." "And I've got another on it that'll stop anyone but myself or those I trust enough to give permission to from reading it's contents..." Octavia had already guessed the latter to be the case, but she still nodded. "I suppose it being stolen a blessing in disguise then," she murmured, looking down for a moment, the thought occurring to her now. "I wouldn't have any issues telling you how I caught the attention of the Guild, If you still want to hear it." She blinked, clearly surprised by the sudden offer. Well, this got her. Not only had misjudge him, but she also felt even worst from trying to read the journal in the first place. It was really quite stupid in hind sight, trying to read it just to know what he did to be noticed. She could have easily just asked what sort of things qualified as being noticed, from him or another worker there. "Well, if it's okay with you," she said. "I'd like to know," she paused before adding "my name is Octavia, by the way."
Shamitako
Amelia was a bit taken aback by Deric's question. The implication of there being something special about Aaron being around a women was awkward to her. It failed to occur to her that it was a mere jest. "Are you implying something?" She asked stiffly. Then she whispered to Aaron, "Is it unusual for you to have a woman nearby? Maybe some custom I wouldn't know of?" She unconsciously scooted away from Aaron a few inches. Deric's statement had her quite nervous. She had just met Aaron, and already someone had taken more from it than necessary. This always seemed to happen when she attempted to befriend a man. She didn't even consider herself that attractive. (OOC: Bam, now she doesn't like befriending males because of untoward implications. Petfect ammunition for freaking out in a company of them)

Sutoratosu
Snap Crackle Pop "Alright," Eric began "well, Octavia, It was several years ago... The daughter and eldest child of King Mathers of Creylend, Elisia Carting, heir to the Crelish throne, fell deathly ill without warning... nothing that any of the local Apothecary's in the area attempted was able to stem the malady... and so King Mathers sent out a royal decree, any healer who could restore his daughter's health would be rewarded with their weight in Gold and Mythril... my mentor heard of the offer... and so she and I set out to the Hgigasa Highlands..." He pushed off the ledge, landing on the street below beside Octavia, rolling upon landing. he walked up beside the young women, shoulder to shoulder, facing the building behind her as he continued speaking. "We determined... that Foul Magick was involved..." he said solemnly "My mentor... attempted to break the hex she had discovered over her... but... who ever the whore son is who created it made it with a trap in mind for those who tampered with it... my mentor... lost her life." a single tear fell unseen down his cheek, he brought up his hand, wiping it away quickly... he had mourned enough already. "But before the trap killed her, she managed to undo the workings enough to where all that was needed was for someone to finish the job... I did so... long story short, Princess Elisia was cured of her dire ailment... and I was rewarded with my weight in precious metal...." he paused, turning to look Octavia in the eye, his own were darkened and stormy as if with regret and some other dark emotion. "I did not deserve a place in the guild... to be truthful, I still do not. I was only recognized in the first place for an accomplishment that rightfully belonged to my mentor... without her having weakened it, I never would've succeeded in removing that bit of black magick..." just then the scent of wild Mint and Sage wafted through the night air. Eric looked around, recognizing the scent partially from his training as an Apothecary, but mostly from past memories "That... that smell..." he began unsteadily "But... how? it is impossible for either to grow this high up in altitude... in this thin of an atmosphere..." a voice called out just then, "Very good, Eric." it said simply. Eric snapped his attention to the source of it, seeing an elderly woman sitting in a wooden chair on a roof top patio of a nearby home. she looked down at him and Octavia on the street below, smiling warmly as she continued. "But I must make one thing clear, I am very much still alive." Masterweavile898 Aaron turned and answered Milly at a normal volume "You should really calm down," he said "he meant no implication." up on the roof top, Deric shifted a little where he stood, obviously a bit sheepish at how the young woman below had taken his jest just now "Forgive me, Miss," he began, the apology genuine "It was meant only as a jest... Aaron is like a... younger brother to me." he looked down at the two on the street, his face a little red, though in the night air, it would be impossible to see from where Aaron and Milly were "Though, either way, such was highly inappropriate on my part to say something of such suggestions... and so I offer my deepest apologies if you took any offense at all to it" he gave an ever so slight bow, inclining his head and shoulders. Decate stepped forward a bit and whispered to him as he too peered down at Aaron and Amelia. "Ever the White Knight, Aren't you, Deric?" he said jokingly, a slight smirk appearing on his face as he spoke. Deric raised his shoulders out of the bowing motion, whispering in response to the comment yet not looking at Decate as he spoke. "Decate, old friend..." he began "the five of us have no past. we are simply servants of the Carraway household now... and nothing more." K_H after a short stroll through the corridor, the two men finally arrived at the large, wooden door at the other end. Marculo produced a key, sticking it into the knob and turning the handle, only for the door to make a rattling noise and refuse to open as he tried to push in on it. he tried again, looking down at the key as he pushed his shoulder against the wood of the door. "How strange," he began, unsure as to what was wrong with the lock "I'm quite certain this was the correct key..." ((Kenny, it should be simple enough to figure out a way how to get the door open...)) Edited July 8, 2014 by Stratos
Shamitako
Amelia felt equally embarrassed. She could now clearly see how it was intended as a joke. "I am equally sorry." She said, "I don't have the greatest sense of humor. I can see now that you were just joking." She avoided mentioning her negative experiences of such things from the past. "So, um, is there anything important up there? Or do you guys want to come down so we can stop shouting?" She said, shifting her feet awkwardly. She would have offered to go up, but she was uncertain if Aaron was capable of that. And she didn't see any quick way up for herself either. (OOC: This is kinda crappy, sorry >_<)
K_H
"Marculo, I've got an idea." and with that, Ko'luki loaded a couple HEDs and placed them in the Doorframe. "RUN!" He then lit the Fuses and ran out of the Hallway. Edited July 8, 2014 by K_H
Sutoratosu
Masterweavile898 "very well then..." Deric said, glancing back at his four old friends "Marca's gotten away... there's no real reason for us to stay up here..." with that he took a step off the ledge of the building, disappearing into thin air as he did so; it was unexplainable, one minute he was there, and the next he was not. down on the street below, Aaron felt a presence suddenly behind him. the young mage glanced over his shoulder, surprised to see Deric there. "H-How..." he began "Deric... you know how to Light Walk?" Deric took a step back, realizing he'd just made a very stupid mistake... he preferred to keep his past unknown, and yet here he was, flaunting Skills and Magick he'd picked up from back then... "That's not important right now." Deric said quickly, acting to change the subject, he looked over at amelia, still addressing Aaron as he spoke "So... Aaron..." he said, visibly uncomfortable, he was still chiding himself over how careless he had been by Light Walking in front of Aaron "Tell me about how exactly you met this young lady." Aaron glanced over at Milly "I healed her," he began "after she stumbled into the West Market square, bleeding to death from a deep gash on the sole of her foot." he didn't really know whether or not the gash had been deeper than an inch or two, but he assumed it had to be...how else would it have been possible for her to have been losing as much blood as she was as fast as she was? "Well... " Deric said "at least you're seizing opportunities to practice..." he looked over at Amelia "And I'm guessing he's decent enough at it... seeing as how you seem to be walking just fine." K_H Not having to be told twice, Maruclo ran off after Ko'Luki. "This is a bit much Sir, Don't you think!?" he shouted at Ko'luki as the HEDs detonated behind him, the force of the blast sending him flying through the air and landing smack on his face. he glared up at Kol'uki as the explosion began to recede, about to open his mouth and say a few less than nice things when he heard a strange crackling sound behind him. he got up to a sitting position, glancing over his shoulder to see a strange, violet hued barrier in front of the door, scorch marks from the HEDs detonation scarred the wall around it. Marculo got up slowly. He glared at Ko'Luki "Have you any other Ideas... Sir...?" he asked, obviously a bit irritated "Preferably ones that do not endanger my life." ((I know I said that explosives were the answer... but I've thought of something more interesting...)) ---------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------- Remus walked through the darkened corridors of the Archive, his ornate grey and black robes trailing behind him as he went. "Have you found the man named Martim yet?" he asked the young man dressed in a gold and grey guild jacket and pants walking beside him, Gilwyn, whom was his right hand man, the one only one Remus would allow to receive his assignments in person "No, ser..." he began "But we will... with the bounty posters we've forged and distributed in the local area, it won't be long before someone delivers him to our doorstep... all we need do is be patient." Remus glanced over at the young man, scrutinizing the validity of that statement "We will not simply wait for some bounty hunter to bring him." he said simply, as if by him doing so it became set in stone as factual "I've already given you the assignment: you're to find him, and kill him.... preferably with much more discretion than you did his family." Gilwyn stopped walking, and after a few more paces ahead, Remus noticed he was no longer beside him and stopped, turning to glare at the young man. "It was you who said to get rid of the wife and children to prevent them from picking up where he left off in his studies" Gilwyn began, meeting the older man's stare with a far more carnal ferocity "you gave me no restrictions as to the methods at my appropriate disposal, so do not bitch and moan about my setting fire to the home with Lenach, if you wanted discretion in the matter then you should've specified as such when you gave me the assignment." Remus turned back around, feigning as if he were going to walk away, then without warning, he whirled back to face Gilwyn, his eye's alight with a white glow as he thrust out his hand, a long bolt of electricity arcing out of his palm... only to hit a nearby bookshelf, charring the wood and completely destroying the tombs sitting on it. he lowered his hand, grinding his teeth as he felt an electric charge in the air near the back of his head. "Do not get angry simply because I speak the truth," Gilwyn said from behind the old sage, his index finger pointed at the back of Remus's skull in a fusil like fashion, the tip crackling with a small sphere of lightning. "if you want discretion for those you need dead, then you must say as such when you dispatch me." surprisingly, Remus sighed and turned around to face the young man, who promptly lowered his finger to his side. "Go." he said simply "The more time you spend standing here, the more time he'll have to find refuge." Gilwyn simply nodded, fading into the darkness a moment later, his foot steps echoing throughout the place as he made his way back towards the stair case.
