Foamy
My Diggersby did pretty well against Samson, until one of his Pokémon tanked my Strength and OHKO'd it with a Fighting move. After that, I just cleaned house with my Bulk Up Blaziken. All of my Pokémon are mid-late 50s, by the way.
Guest
Guys stahp saying he's too easy ;_; otherwise ame will make samson have an army of Lv 1000 Mega Lucarios with 300 base power aura spheres on the next update. ಥ_ಥ still scarred from fighting kiki with a dark monotype Edited June 30, 2014 by Telos
Drayker
Acrobatics all the way. Ruined him. In fact Samson is easy, thanks to the Big Top battlefield.

Slicster
#Diggersbytho Seriously I mainly relied on HypnoPlotEaterTomb But there was no way I could beat that Chesnaught, it would OHKO me, so I switch into a level 42 Heracross and Counter everything, mucho exp mucho

mashonem
Acrobatics all the way. Ruined him. In fact Samson is easy, thanks to the Big Top battlefield. That field was obviously made with Ciel in mind; the Ringmaster just threw in a little bit of extra shit for Samson just so he wouldn't start crying. As to the actual thread, the only gyms I beat on my first try are KiKi's and Serra's. Fairy types completely destroy any challenge/mystic that KiKi's gym had initially, especially if they have some way to lower her Pokemon's attack and hit back too; Granbull can solo this gym by itself up until you get to that Lucario (don't use Fake Out on it btw, almost cost me the W). Drought Ninetails has always been the hard counter to Serra's gym; that's just status quo. Edited July 1, 2014 by mashonem
HolyKnight
My Granbull owned Samson entire team. It´s true, he´s too easy. Guys stahp saying he's too easy ;_; otherwise ame will make samson have an army of Lv 1000 Mega Lucarios with 300 base power aura spheres on the next update. ಥ_ಥ That would be nice
Soysauce
Beat him first try with everyone being < lvl 60 and without knowing his roster. If my Staraptor was EV trained and level 60 she would have OHKO his ace. :C
Etesian
I had no Pokemon above level 60 when I fought him, Crobat could've easily swept him after some grinding. It killed 4 of his Pokes and the rest of my team (mostly Archeops) handled the rest. I don't even remember much because it was over so quickly. As for other underleveled victories on my main save, I was never less than 4 levels under the cap, only the Aya fight was with a Level 45 team. No gym battle was all that tough, Serra was the worst and she was annoying at best. I was like 7-8 levels below the cap vs Luna, but Leavanny destroyed all but Bisharp and Honchkrow, even without it's Swords Dance. I was kind of underleveled for Noel which took like 7 turns. On my main save (monotype runs hurt) Edited June 30, 2014 by Etesian
Cepheus
As for Samson: my Gardevoir with Calm Mind + Psychic/Moonblast wrecked 4 of his team until Mienshao got a fast Poison Jab crit... didn't kill it right away but got the poison hax and killed it with the poison damage... my Noivern took care of the Mienshao and Chesnaught both with OHKO... Gym-Leaders I DIDN'T beat first try: - Julia - Shelly (That 'Heather'-Yanmega threw me of... I didn't know what to expect there... if had known that it would be a Yanmega I would have switched in the correct Pokemon...) - Noel (the reason why I signed up here... he was sooooo unfair^^)
Phlytosion
Gallade with Psycho Cut and Close Combat swept his entire team on my first go. I found Kiki to be a lot more difficult to defeat. It may be due to the lack of powerful moves that early in the game. Considering your Pokes should have learned every one of its level-up moves by now, he's pretty simple to beat. Rawr-Ma-Ama
Pls Ame, make Samson way more difficult :

CoolTrainerGary
I beat him only using my Gyarados with the move Bounce (which it learns from the move tutor in the circus )
Ykcir
Sampson was by far the easiest gym leader I've fought with my Crobat. Swept his whole team with acrobatics None of his Pokemon stood a chance.
Kaze
Would have beat all his pokemon with Noivern if Hurricane worked, but it doesn't Still, lower tier Flying moves worked well until his lvl 73 pokemon(Seriously wtf.....my level cap with 70 and he along with Luna and Radomus(sp) have pokemon above the level cap...so not fair) got in a devastating hit in and well....Gardavoir came in, but its psychic plate got knocked off and Delphox had to step up to finish things off. ShatteredSkys
Samsom was meh for me, not hard but by no means easy. The problem mostly was that my pokemon were pretty underleveled so yamega could not KO blaziken or hawlucha so they would start running rampant against my team, also mach punch ruined it for my acrcheops and knock off made it risky to keep my gallade in. I finally managed to beat him after an air slash flinched blaziken and my chandelure got a burn on the hawlucha.
Sutoratosu
Samson is probably the easiest leader to beat thus far in the game when you consider where the story and difficulty is currently Most of my team was either int their early sixties or late fifties... we went up against him two times and lost... so on the third try, I decided that I was just gonna go spend all my cash on medicine and pull a Phoenix Sweep on the bastard... Here, a strategy I've developed... use it to raise levels or get things to evolve or whatever you so please for it...a Strategy I call "Phoenix Sweep".It's effective if your team is a bit underlevel, or you want to evolve something (Though, the pokemon in question should have decent defenses to survive combat) I suggest spending all your cash on medicinal items before starting though, as one of the key points of this is to lose... Repeatedly, And it would be a shame if you lost all your cash during this process because you didn't invest wisely...Anyway, here is a basic rundown 1.Before the major battle (I used this strategy to eventually beat Corey after three or four tries), Switch the lead of your party with the pokemon you intend to level up/evolve. (Again, should have decent defenses, as things could go bad and it may be forced to fight it's way out of the battle) 2.Initiate the major battle 3.After your lead is thrown in (Pokemon to be leveled) Switch it out with a stronger pokemon (Ex. For Corey, I sent in my level27 Teddiursa against his Trubish, then switched Teddiursa out immediately for Braxien) 4.Use said stronger pokemon that has been chosen to defeat the Foe. 5.When prompted, send out the intended leveler again, repeat steps 3-5 as nessacary, throwing in other members of the party when strategically valuable (Ex. I sent in Pidgeotto to lower his Skunktank's Attack with Feather dance, lowering it's massive attack stat and making it safer for other's to come in and finish it off. Pidgeotto fainted in the process, but it's like I said before, lossing is key) 6.Eventually, you'll be brought to your last stand if you aren't strong enough to finish the fight in your favor. You'll lose. Don't get discouraged, You barely lost any cash because you didn't have any if you followed my advice on buyig medicine. (Note: For steps 1-6, it is vital that you lose little to none healing products, as those should be saved for the real fight.) Get back in there and rematch. Lose again, but you still come out of the fight with some levels gained if you played your cards right. Keep on persevering until you feel your strong enough to stop this charade and actually fight seriously. (By the time I finished with this technique on Corey, Braxien, Emolga, And Teddiursa had gone up by about 3-4 levels, and Teddiursa evolved into urasing. We went in there and Crushed corey in five minutes the next time we fought him.) It's called phoenix sweep because you will fail time and time again, but eventually rise up from your ashes more powerful and wiser to the opposing side than you were when you started. Long story short me and ma team are doing the PS and lo and behold... after my Noivern managed to take down half his team and my Swampert took out his speed boost blaziken with a OHKO from earthquake, we don somehow got Samson down to only his conkledoor left... we'll I sent in my Gardevoir, expecting to lose soon as I was running out of party members myself... then the unexpected happened; she sped ahead of Conkledor and OHKO'd it with a moonblast. walked in there expecting to gain a few needed levels... and I came out with a gym badge instead. fireflame
For me, my trump cards were Gallade and Hawlucha at level 60. Swords Dances first, then Psycho Cut one-shoted most of his team. hawlucha's Sky attack came after 2 Swords Dances, and emolga helped take out any of Samson's stragglers. wowireallylovesweaters
Sylveon w/ Moonblast at level 63 I steamrolled through his entire team it felt so incredibly good to have a gym leader I didn't have to agonize over but I'm not expecting that to happen again...especially when Ame gets wind of this topic
T-Raz
I've had the same save file since I first started playing when episode 7 was still a thing I believe when I joined. The only leaders that I beat in 1 try since the beginning are: Julia (Ralts Double Team) Florinia (Trubbish sweep) Kiki (Cofagirigus cripples Medicham with Mummy & & Will-O-Wisp) Aya (closest match by far with only her Seviper & my Garbodor left) Serra (Garbodor & Magnezone Sweep)
