Dragonz996
[Special Sweeper] Zoroark (M/F) @ Focus Sash Trait: Illusion EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Nasty Plot - Hidden Power [Ice] - Flamethrower - Dark Pulse/Night Daze Common, but effective. 339 Base Special Attack and 338 Base Speed makes it a fast killer. Thanks to Focus Sash, you'll get at least 1 Nasty Plot before you start killin' away. HP Ice takes out Dragons and Flamethrower takes out Steel types like Ferrothorn. Dark Pulse is a solid STAB move with 80 base power. Night Daze may decrease your opponent's accuracy and has 85 base power, but 95 accuracy means it misses, choose whichever you want. N8theGr8
SPY SAPPIN' MAH SWORDS DANCE Zoroark @ Life Orb/Focus Sash Trait: Illusion EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Speed Adamant/Jolly Nature - Swords Dance - Night Slash/Sucker Punch - Return - Low Sweep/Substitute/U-Turn A surprising set on a surprising Pokémon. Nearly always best left for late game, also. Zoroark has a decent 105 Attack that is good enough to warrant a Swords Dance set. Sadly, his physical coverage is too awful for it to shine over his almost completely superior Nasty Plot set. It gets a surprise in, but little more. Anyway, Night Slash is more reliable but Sucker Punch can take out things that are faster than you provided you can predict a little. Return hits everything but Rocks and Steels (make sure you set your happiness to 255!), and Low Sweep covers the Rocks and Steels up (even if it is incredibly weak). Substitute and U-Turn can be run over Low Sweep for scouting purposes.
N8theGr8
You Got Blood on My Scarf/Spectacles Zoroark @ Choice Scarf/Choice Specs Trait: Illusion EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Speed Modest/Timid Nature - Night Daze/Dark Pulse - Flamethrower - Hidden Power [Ice] - Extrasensory/Focus Blast/U-Turn A decent choiced Pokémon, especially because of the surprise that Illusion can bring. Night Daze and Dark Pulse are stab; the former being stronger and the latter being more accurate. Flamethrower annihilates Steels, specifically Ferrothorn, Scizor, and Forretress. Hidden Power [Ice] hits Dragons, but any type can be run over Ice to fit your personal desires. Focus Blast destroys Tyranitar, but Extrasensory hits Fighting types. U-Turn can also be run to scout. If this is the case, run Rash/Naive over Modest/Timid, respectively so you have a bit more power behind your U-Turns. The spare 4 EVs can also be shifted to Attack, or even a few more from your Speed/Special Attack if you so choose. The item choice is a choice between Speed or Special Attack. It also is important that you take care in disguising Zoroark as something plausible. Make sure your disguise takes neutral damage from Stealth Rock and is not immune to Spikes. Also, it is advised if your Zoroark is shiny, your disguise should be as well and vice-versa. In doing this, your opponent is more likely to believe that Zoroark is the Pokémon that it is disguised as, making the surprise hurt that much more. Noivy
Problem? Rhea (Zoroark) (F) @ Choice Specs Trait: Illusion EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def) - Night Daze - U-turn - Trick - Flamethrower Zoroark doesn't really get as much attention as it deserves, because it can really do some amazing things. Here, we have a Spec'd Zoroark, that's fast, and can do quite a bit of dirty tricks. First, it has a massive attack stat which puts Night Daze to really good use. But then suddenly a Chansey (or any wall in general) starts being all stupidly stupid and starts toxic stalling your team. Solution? Trick! Steam that Evolite and give it a Choice Spec! No more walling for you, Chansey! You can go back to being useless again. Like you should be. U-Turn for the escape route, it's fast enough to out-speed a lot of things, and a dead Zoroark isn't worth much to a team.
diana
You have one new threat! Rorona (Zoroark) (M) @ Expert Belt Trait: Illusion EVs: 16 Atk / 240 SAtk / 252 Spd Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef) - Night Daze - Flamethrower - Focus Blast - Sucker Punch This is one of my favorite things to use; and it does what it does well. Night Daze is a slightly more powerful Dark Pulse, that has a 40% chance to lower Accuracy, helping him evade a few hits. Flamethrower wrecks any Skarmory, Forretress or Scizor who wants to switch into a Night Daze and attempt to set up. Focus Blast provides excellent coverage with Night Daze, and hits quite a few things harder. Sucker Punch can prevent a death and actually turn it into a kill; if it hits something super effectively, it can put a rather large dent in. Rorona is best sent in as something Posion or Fighting typed, to draw a Psychic move in.
Cowtao
This is probably the most retarded set that I have ever made. Be for warned~ Infernape's Partner Hawkeye (Zoroark) (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Illusion EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Low Kick - Swords Dance - Sucker Punch - Protect Okay. Work with me hurr. This set is very unique onto the fact that it tackles a lot of top tier threats that certain fire types like Blaziken or Infernape have trouble defeating. The set is to ensure that the standard Starmie Scald doesn't 2HKO and a Focus Blast from Alakzam (Timid) and Gengar (Timid) doesn't 1HKO. This set's only real purpose is to completely shut down on most of Blaziken, Infenape, and other sets. The game plan with this set is to sack a pokemon and then allow someone to get comfortable to attack out with scald or Focus Blast. It allows the user to get off a Swords Dance and then proceed to Sucker Punch. With this, this can actually shut down a fair amount of teams as a decent late game sweeper as with a +2 can OHKO Tyranitar, Starmie, Alakzam, Gengar, Rotom-W's Choice Sets, Volcarona, Cloyster, Staraptor, and more. Disclaimer: I built this in my early days of PO and this set is just completely situational. Take this with a grain of salt. Khayoz
^ Oh Mr. bot. Zoroark doesn't need pills. A good old late game sweep is enough to get people hard Edited October 6, 2013 by Khayoz
Shanco
The Bark of Zoroark Zoroark (M) @ Choice Scarf / Life Orb Trait: Illusion EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) / Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Night Slash - Return - Low Kick - U-turn / Sucker Punch / Agility / Swords Dance With the changes to Dark-type's effectiveness in Gen VI, Zoroark's STABs are better than ever. Normal / Dark has almost unresisted STAB coverage (as far as I know, only Fairy / Rock resists both, a.k.a only one Pokemon in the game) thus making Dark-types much more potent. Zoroark, a denizen of the Pokemon Village, deserves more love as a result. Night Slash is the STAB move, and its partner in crime is Return. Low Kick is a Fighting-type move that can help deal with other threats and can help Zoroark masquerade as a Fighting-type better in tandem with Illusion. The last move is a whatever slot; you should only take Agility or Swords Dance if you're using the Life Orb, otherwise this Zoroark does just fine packing some unexpected physical power with a Choice Scarf. Sapphire
General Special Sweeper Zoroark (F) @ Life Orb Trait: [Illusion EVs: 6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Night Daze/Dark Pulse - Flamethrower - Focus Blast - Nasty Plot This set is designed as a fast special attacker. Send it out first [hopefully as a Fighting/Poison type (I find that Infernape works well, as you can keep the illusion of a special Infernape up till you use a Dark move)] and use Nasty Plot. Night Daze and Dark Pulse is mainly down to preference, though the acc drop from Night Daze has saved me more than a few times. Focus Blast is there for Tyranitar, Heatran, etc. Flamethrower is there for a general coverage move. It's good against Breloom, Metagross, etc. The only downside to this set are Fairys. Zoroark gets Flamethrower to use against them...And that's it. Edited February 6, 2014 by Secundum
Lord Emvee
[Inception] Zoroark (M) @ Focus Sash Trait: Illusion EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def) - Counter - Memento - Taunt - Sucker Punch The following Zoroark works as an Anti-Lead. Basically, it shuts down Pokemon such as Deoxys-D, Smeargle, (most hazarders and statusmons). It also beats U-Turn leads such as Genesect, and OHKO's the following Pokemon brought in with Counter (while living with Focus Sash). Memento is there for when you have 1 HP left and nothing else useful to use (which gives you an opportunity to set up with another Pokemon, whether it be Sword Dance, or Dragon Dance, etc is up to you). Sucker Punch helps to finish off already weakened Pokemon, or do some sort of damage. It's a very interesting set that works if you play it right.
