Notus
One by one, the adventurers cross the dark tunnel opened by Lilith, guardian of the Second Circle, and find themselves in a new corridor. This one would look clearly man made, but for it's size: the arched roof loomed over forty meters above their heads, it's width was around twenty, and even the torches that dimly illuminated the place were the size of cars. The tunnel they've just came from looked like a rat hole in the wall when compared to this massive environment. The air, however, contrasted heavily with the opressive atmosphere, as the aroma of good food could be felt by everyone, coming further down the corridor. To each of the people there, it seeme like their favorite dishes and it made them aware of how long it had been since they last had a proper meal. And thus, that was the confusing first impression the adventurers had of the Third Circle of Hell.
Flux
Phantom stopped at the side of the new corridor, crouching down to gently lay Rose on the floor. The smells in the air were... familiar. And welcoming. Perhaps they held a clue as to who he had been before. Still, they would have to wait. The girl had yet to wake up, and he wasn't about to leave her like this after taking her this far. It just seemed... wrong. He knelt by her side, allowing the others to catch up while they waited for her to wake.
Rosesong
Rose groaned, slowly squinting her eyes open. Fuzzily noting that this placed looked and smelt different than in Lilith's chamber, the woman assumed that whoever had taken her had brought her to the next circle. Looking up, she saw a white-masked man over her. Internally cursing for her bad timing, but grateful for the dagger supply she now had, the girl opened her mouth to try to speak. "Who are you," she whispered, voice barely audible to where she wondered if this strange person had heard her.
Flux
Phantom turned as the girl spoke, the eyes of his mask giving off their ethereal glow. "Who... am I?" he repeated quietly. He considered how to respond. He couldn't even begin to know who he was, so how could he explain it to another? He thought about giving the answer he would have given in the past: Phantom. However... he wasn't sure anymore. Perhaps it was Meridian who changed him, who inspired him to give the answer he would give now. "I'm... a friend." anethia
Annie looked around the tunnel, vaguely interested by the smells in the air, however she wasn't about to trust anything this place offered. She didn't trust anything. Not even the people she entered with. Turning her back on the group, she silently walked off, and delved deeper into the tunnels. Whatever was around the corner, she was prepared for. She was strong.
Rosesong
A friend. Rose normally would have gone defensive, but this person had saved her life rather than killing her. "Ok," she spoke, just as softly as before. "Friends."
Notus
Ellaria "Rose! Thank god, are you feeling better?" Ellaria asked when she heard the other girl talk. She started feeling the atmosphere around her, the rough stone floor, the delicious smell of food (it seemed like pasta to her... a memory of the food her mother used to make when she was smaller.) and the way sound seemed to get lost in the distance when people spoke. This time at least, she caught her bearings really fast, so she soon noticed Annie's light and yet firm steps going away. By the way she walked off, however, Ellaria knew she didn't want anyone to notice. The girl kept silent, a little sad but still respecting the other's decision. SithBaker
Morris Darcy Morris sat with his back leant against the wall in a nearby hole. He had been sitting there for a while now, just staring at the irregular ceiling with a blank expression. “How many days’ve passed since I got here...” he couldn’t answer himself, and as such, he produced a pack of cigarettes. “Just a fag left, huh?” He grinned in disappointment as he said that with the filter already stuck in between his lips, and stroke the flint on his lighter. There was no end to this place, and he had a bad feeling he might have been going in circles. Orientation sense was never something he had. He sniffed “I cant stand this bloody smell of garlic bread! I am gutted, out of cigarettes and nowhere near finding the way out. Like hell I can find my way out on my own, tche, that lot, mugs, just sprinting to their deaths! Even I could see we couldn’t beat Lilith like that, not by a fluke.” He opened his pouch and counted what he had left. “One lighter, eleven 12mm rounds, four Browning cartridges, and absolutely no tobacco left.” He took his cigarette out of his mouth so that he could exhale the smoke properly. “I would flog my soul for more of this.” It took a few minutes before he finished it. He nonchalantly threw the stub away. “Something very undainty will eat it eventually, and lick the floor around it clean, I am sure.” The nature of this realm was not for him. Gluttony was a sin he had never indulge in, as his lean body would imply. But with each passing day, he became more apathetic of his fate, before settling in this hole of a place. He legs and bum hurt after so many days of seldom moving, and after a long while, he was finally forced to stretch a bit. That woke him up enough to hear a... “A gasp. Somebody had inhaled nearby!” he focused for the first time in days, and could faintly hear steps, and something that sounded like very dimmed voices. He reached to his Browning, quickly evaluating his situation. Then, he very slowly shifted to the edge of the hole. Rosesong
"E-Ellaria?" Rose weakly questioned, fighting into a sitting position and going into a coughing fit as a result. As she caught her breath, she looked over at her younger companion. "I'm glad you're safe," she whispered, sighing in relief. "As for how I'm feeling," she broke off with another bout of coughing, "I could be better. But I'm grateful that you all found me... I think that I would have died permanently if I had been left... Just like..." With that, tears began leaking from her eyes, and the woman began crying, finally mourning for Byron.
Ragnar
Ixidor went through the portal only to find himself in what seems to be a dark passage of somesort. The boy just stood there, staring blankly at the abyss that lies ahead, showing no interest to the sweet tempting aroma of his favorite food that's coming from out of nowhere. He shows no emotion whatsover like he left his soul at the second circle, the boy was obviously still shaken from the incident. why, why do people have to suffer for my mistake. Ixidor question himself, still troubled by his guilt. The boy decided to isolate himself from the rest, giving himself some time alone and maybe preventing him from harming others. He pulls out his sketchpad and draws something that will get him through this place, in an instant ,a bicycle appears right out of the pages of the book, the boy hops on it and rode it as he ventures deep into the tunnel. Supernovae
Mr. Taylor couldn't help but smell a nice steak's scent in the air. Scratch that, Mr. Taylor could taste the steak. The old man looked down at his rumbling stomach, with a mild smile. It wasn't hard to figure out what sin this was supposed to be. But, despite the crushing hunger, Mr. Taylor pushed through the tunnel to catch up with Phantom and the others. He was still adjusting to the stick he'd been using as a cane. After the Michael 'experience' Mr. Taylor had lost his bag and cane, and had ran out of bullets when fighting off 'the loving dead.' This left the old man armed with a walking stick and a whip he'd made in his 'Michael phase.' When Mr. Taylor finally emerged from the tunnel he noticed the massive structure he was now standing in and couldn't help but admire his surroundings. In fact so far,t he third level of hell was pretty nice. The scent was wonderful, though inappropriate, since Mr. Taylor knew he likely wouldn't be eating. The structure seemed well built and oddly beautiful. Yup, just about everything in this circle was nice. Well, except for the fact that Rose was clearly crying. Mr. Taylor leaned down next to the crying magician, not uttering a word just waiting and taking in his surroundings. Mr. Taylor knew to never ask someone what was wrong. If they wanted to tell you what was happening, they would. Instead Mr. Taylor looked up to his newest companion, Phantom. "Well lad, it appears that the sin in this circle is gluttony," he said, sniffing the air again, "However, the structure of this place, could be advantageous to us. You see these walls? I wonder if this place is a labyrinth, designed to lead us through several twists and turns, until we can finally make our way through," he smirked coolly, hoping that Phantom would be able to understand the plan, "If that is the case, then with your abilities, we should be able to phase through most of the challenges in this place and quickly reach the next circle." Notus
Ellaria Just like... what? Ellaria thought, when Rose started crying. Did I say something wrong? The girl was surprised at first, since Rose had always been, in her point of view, the strong one around. Quietly and feeling a little odd, she embraced her friend, letting her cry as much as she wanted. Edited August 18, 2014 by Notus
Rosesong
Feeling arms around her, Rose gradually calmed down and took a steadying breath, looking to see Ellaria hugging her while Mr. Taylor was talking to the still unnamed but friendly person. Throwing her arms around the girl, Rose winced in pain and began to speak in a low voice. "Guys, Byron is dead. And he's not coming back. The guardian of that circle was a-a succubus, I think. She managed to turn Byron to dust, and there was nothing Kenny, that artist kid, or I could do about it. They had gone ahead, while I presume you guys found me in the second circle..." Her voice trailed off, and the girl allowed her head to drop onto Ellaria's, too tired to hold it up anymore.
SithBaker
Morris was about to peek across the corner of his hole, when he heard a more gripping sound; a woman weeping. He immediately felt tension in the entirety of his body, as his every muscle was telling him that he had to... protect? check on it? whether its Bridget? "No, no..." he shook his head. He has to stop thinking these crazy thoughts. But he also has to go and see what is going on. He emerged from the hole, holding his Browning behind his back and inconspicuously walked alongside the wall towards whatever was awaiting him. ___ /Morris should now be visible to whoever is looking in that direction/ Edited August 18, 2014 by SithBaker
Sutoratosu
Ethic took a moment to look around after entering the next circle. he didn't know exactly what the hell had gone down in the room he had walked through only moments ago, but from what he could gather by the overall destruction, some type of battle had broken out. It seemed that everyone had survived what ever it was, though. Ethic estimated that he was probably the last person to step through, though he couldn't be certain. He glanced at the group, considering interacting with them, but quickly pushing that thought out of his head. They'd just get caught up in his little conflict if he traveled with them, and even besides that, Ethic didn't quite trust himself anymore, after what he had done to Quincy... "It's best to just stay to myself." He muttered, walking past the group without a word. The way ahead seemed safe enough as he began to make his way further in, though he made sure to remain cautious. It wasn't anything that might be lurking here that had him worried, it was his real foes that did that... and in this circle, there probably wouldn't be any supernatural phenomenon that would protect him from their reach. Notus
Ellaria Ellaria took a shock from what Rose said, but tried her best not to show it. She didn't spend much time with Byron, but she had known him after all, and up to now she thought no one could die "for good" here. Deep down, she was getting scared. That was when she heard furtive steps coming around them. Still hugging Rose, she looked to the direction the noise came from and asked aloud. "Who's there? Are you friend or enemy?" ((Just to make it clear, she's talking to Morris)) =================================================================== Ixidor As Ixidor kept riding through the massive corridor, he couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched. He was already out of the group's view when he started noticing the rat holes in the walls. Some of them... no, all of them had eyes staring out at him, following him as he went. Some of the eye's owners started walking towards him. They were people, or at last seemed to be, and frighteningly skinny. All of them looked at him with the same eyes though: shining, as if the boy was the most marvelous thing they'd ever seen. "You... do you have some food, juicy food?" One managed to scream at him, with a raspy and demented voice. =================================================================== Annie She walked a good distance in the corridor, turning around some corners and getting out of the group's reach. Despite the size of this place, it seemed strangely deserted and quiet. Suddenly a breath of air came from her left, carrying an even stronger scent of food. Looking in that direction, she saw a huge door, slightly open, letting her partially see the interior of a room, were the smell seemed to be coming from. Rosesong
Rose stiffened, shrugging Ellaria's arms off her lightly as she fought against her exhaustion to get up. Immediately she fell to the ground with a hard thump, so she tried again with the same results. Giving up, and tiredly moving back near Ellaria, she replaced her arms around the girl and began looking around, seeing another stranger. "W-who are you?" she whispered as loud as she could, hating that she was so helpless right now. "What do you want?" Her second statement was interrupted with a coughing fit that seemed to last forever. Rose noticed a little blood as she took her hand from her mouth, and assumed that she shouldn't move for awhile. Worn, she leaned against the wall.
SithBaker
Morris ignored his surroundings, just chasing the source of the weeping sound he had heard. After while, the weeping was interrupted by two voices. They were female, that much he could tell, but after not speaking to another person for weeks, he had a bit of trouble telling what they we saying. He rose his eyes. Before him was a pair of women, one of which had just writhen out of the others embrace just to nearly fall to the ground. The same woman also had tears all over her face. Morris tried to speak, but he suddenly found his tongue and mouth very stiff, and so what he said was barely audible. "..hi ah you crying?" He managed to very slowly stress out the more important part of the qestion. He couldnt help but to stare at her with both his eyes, and his silvery, cloudy eye made this look even more odd than it already was. Rosesong
Rose stared in shock at the man as he spoke. She thought he was asking if she was crying and shakily nodded her head. "A-a friend has died permanently," she rasped, wiping her hand against her shorts to clear it of the blood, before she noticed that her arms still had the dried blood of open wounds from the previous area. Mustering up what little strength she had, Rose willed herself clean again, moaning in agony as a headache gripped her.
SithBaker
Morris blinked as she cleansed herself. That display of obvious magic made him remeber where he was, and woke him up considerably. He shook his head, removed his hood, then shook his head again as he repeatedly cleared his throat. He then proceeded to rub his eyes with his left hand until he could see properly. The procedure took a minute or two, and was by no means perfect. He was still hunched and his mind was a bit cloudy, a flimsy overcast at least. He looked at the two ladies, and realised that during the whole thing, they had plenty time to notice the gun he was holding in his right hand. "I... am very sorry... for your loss." Flux
Phantom was about to respond to Mr. Taylor when the group was interrupted by another man. He was unfamiliar. He had not been present on the previous floors with them, at least that was what Phantom believed. He was suspicious for sure, having suddenly appeared on this floor, and he was armed. Phantom stood to his full height from where he knelt by Rose, placing his right hand on the hilt of his sword and readying his left to make a portal if need be. He spoke slowly, in his usual ethereal voice, seeming almost a whisper, yet filling the room. "Who... are... you?"
SithBaker
"Uh, sorry, my manners" Morris muttered, as he quickly put his gun back into its pouch. "Morris! ...my name is Morris, I ve been stuck for a while here," he paused there as if to make a point. He then shook hands with whoever was willing. He looked at the hole they came from. "Hmm, that s not the way I came in here," he said after looking at it for a second. "I am almost sure this is a different hole. How did you guys get here?" Rosesong
Rose looked up, having heard the question and knowing it was time to explain. Clearing her throat and wincing from her headache, she began. "I was about to be killed by an inccubus-- Aighan was his name. The flowers were emitting this mist and had dulled my senses, and he wanted me to stay with him. I just had so many questions... I wouldn't be here if Byron and Kenny hadn't been there." Rose's voice cracked, and she struggled to keep her emotions in check. "Together we managed to kill Aighan, after figuring out what sort of demon he was. Then we went to the bottom, where the young painter--do any of you know his name?" she broke off for a moment, glancing around wearily. "Anyway, he had a beautiful angel, a girl his age, and another woman there. The woman was a demon --a succubus-- as well, and served the same function as Minos had in the previous area... A gate keeper of sorts." Catching her breath and preparing for the next part, she forged on. "In our fight, the woman transformed to some creature... There are no words to describe her, but she had wings and snake-like tails. She bound Byron with her tails, and... He was turned to dust. The demoness then tried to attack the artist kid, but was stopped by the girl." Rose allowed herself to be confused for a moment. "Apparently the girl was her daughter... As was Aighan her son... Anyway, she opened a portal for us, and Kenny and the kid went through. I had to..." she paused, not wanting to tell this new person that she had weapons. So she quickly lied, "grab the rest of Byron's belongings before I left and tried to get to the portal. But my exhaustion caught up to me." Taking a long moment to catch her breath, Rose fixed her still wavering gaze on Morris. "How did you get here?" she questioned. Having spent her energy, she leaned back again and shut her eyes, letting her head loll down.
SithBaker
Morris gave Rose a concerned look. He chose to answer the question first, though. "Lilith... I ve seen her turn my... company as well. They rushed to their deaths... ´cause they thought could do her in easily. Mugs. I was luckier to come across a woman... Meridian; she sent me here..." A kinder expression briefly crossed Morris´ face. "She said that the way I was, I had to press on." He then turned to Rose. "Is what s happening to you a... renumeration for your power? You seem under the weather..." Edited August 19, 2014 by SithBaker
