You don't have to do it, and if someone tries to pressure you into it, you don't put up with the dick. That said, don't hate away on the idea. It is, but a lot of the people spreading it have made it sound pretty mandatory. Thus I refuse to participate. I suppose I was a bit harsh blaming the event itself, that's fine.
