Out of all the areas in Seacrest Castle, the Throne room was perhaps the most impressive by far... and the most intimidating. A circular, large room with marble columns supporting the ceiling, on which a mural identical to the one out in the court yard had been carved. Water flowed in ducts running around the perimeter of the chamber, glowing with the same purity as it had in the courtyard, giving the whole space an Ethereal presence as the stuff provided all the lighting that was needed. The Floor itself was wrought of beautifully cobbled pure blue stones reminiscent of crystal, shining softly in the light of the waters. There was one thing that the Three noted above all else when they entered the place, however...

The massive, roaring water fall dividing the room in two, the other side completely obscured by the might of the continuous downpour of aqua, which itself fed the Water Ducts ringing the room as it filled the whole place with mist. If they got a bit closer, they would feel just how frigid the it was in the direct vicinity of it.

"Well, through the waterfall now, you three," Mercury said, his skin noticeably soaked, most likely from his own talk with Mira just moments prior. "Go on."

'Here we go again. This is going to be routine, isn't it?' Artemis thought as she looked at the mighty waterfall that Otto just jumped into. 'Might as well get used to the cold while I'm at it.' Artemis' wings turned a metallic-gray color as she hopped back a few spaces. Once she is satisfied with the distance, Artemis took off as fast she could, flapping her wings as much as possible; she then put her steel wings in front of her like blades right when she was about to touch the ice-cold water. On the other side, the audience would be able to see an X-shaped mark on the waterfall before a small, blue bird soaked in water could be seen. Once the Swablu landed, her wings quickly returned to their natural state, albeit a little soggy from the accumulated water. Artemis quickly began brushing up her wings to prepare for the second round of waterfall cutting.

Well. Alistair's butt was thoroughly whooped, and it hurt, thoroughly. He was attacked by a Pelipper who started beating down on him with a fury of wing and water and the Axew was completely done. Arceus must have had a sense of humor sending him into this wet and cold hell hole from the comfort of his room- more specifically- his bed. The Pelipper, probably seeing that Alistair was not going anywhere else, flew away, muttering profanities that didn't quite reach his ears. He wasn't quite sure what it was, but when he was thrown against the wall, he landed on and crushed a blue orb.

Alina fired off a heavy blast of water(water gun + torrent) at an approaching houndoom, of which was quickly replaced on defeat by a kadabra and a cherrim. She let out a low defensive growl, then dropped tons of ice on the two enemies before her. D**n, that worked out better in my mind. The cherrim was heavily injured, but the kadabra appeared as if the previous attack did no more than cut her HP by a third.

"Dont forget me!" snapped Jory as he sent stars flying. Once again unfortunately, the enemy kadabra took the attack for its fellow cherrim, and was defeated. Taking advantage of the second of time its ally bought for him, the cherrim whipped out a shroud of shimmery leaves. (magical leaf)

Alina rolled, dodged, flipped and sidestepped, but she couldnt shake off the cloud of leaf missiles, which eventually slammed her into the wall and left her with a scrap of HP. I have one oran berry, Alina thought. If I eat it now, I may need it in the future. If I save it for later, I may not survive this. Out of the corner of her eye, she watched Jory get beat by a vespiquen, and the cherrim in front of her start charging an energy ball. Without thinking whether she would regret the decision later or not, Alina wolfed down the oran berry in her paws. When she was done eating though, she did regret the decision. The girl looked up in time to see the servine from earlier obliterate the last of the enemies in the room.

"What? Don't get the wrong idea." the servine snapped. "I only helped you because I wanted the experience points." With that, the servine spun on her heel and marched up the stairs.

"Wai--" Alina called after the servine. The girl had a million questions she wanted to ask, but it continued to proceed up the stairs without hesitation. "--t. Guess that servine's not coming back, huh?" She turned as swept her eyes around the room. It looked as if a natrual disaster had passed through. Rubble sat near crumbling walls, several trees were knocked down, grass was trampled, and dust still swirled. The poke, gummis, and stamina band still sat where she last remembered it, but there was a new addition to the pile of dropped items on the floor: a treasure box. She knew it for a fact, even when she'd never seen one before, that red and silver box on the floor was a treasure box. Without a moment's hesitation, the mudkip greedily snatched it up and stuffed it in her treasure bag, clanging noisily on the crystal orb in her pouch.

"Nice shot," Pulse said, grateful for the critical hit. Just like the earlier Skorupi, she was beginning to hate Rock-types. The Graveler wasn't any better-- she glowered at it as if it thoroughly offended her. "I've got it off-guard-- take it down, it shouldn't have much energy left!"

"Right!" Merodi swept her leg up, ramming her foot into the graveler's belly, and then immediately twisted around and smashed her other foot in the graveler's face. (double kick) It lay defeated after the second hit. "Sooo, yeah. Wanna find a place to take a break and talk? And preferably somewhere where we wont be interrupted?" Merodi added quickly. "I can almost guarantee you that there's no enemies in that room up ahead -- and plus, its a dead end room with the stairs."

For a while the Psychic type had forgotten that her companion was part-Fighting type too. "Yes, we might as well have a break." They hadn't really sat down ever since they escaped the Crystal Caves the first time. After heading into the room, which indeed had no other avenues for entry or escape, Pulse plopped down and exhaled heavily.

After defeating a few more opponents, Jake could see his team's strength decreasing, Alina even had to use an oran berry, and he couldn't bare to watch Jory get beaten to a pulp like that...

Out of the corner of his eye he saw a familiar green shape... It was the servine! Jake got down into a battle stance before quickly taking her leave. Without a word he watched her move along, and when she'd gone, Jake approached the rest of the team.

"Everyone, it's time. We need to go."

Jake trotted up the stairs slowly before he was warped onto the next floor...

Alistir found himself teleported back to the entrance of Brine Cave after the Escape orb shattered beneath him. Slowly, the world began to stop spinning from the beating he had taken. He found himself lying on the barren ground not far from the Cave's mouth. and if he focused hard enough, he could even hear a stranger's voice, as well as she a strange sillohuette as it blocked out the sun in his vision. It was a Gengar.

"You alright there, kid?" Kage asked the Axew.

Darklight & Kenny

Mac was the last to make his way through, plunging head first through the waterfall and bursting into the otherside of the chamber not long after Artemis. He opened his eyes and shook off some of the water in his fur as he took a look around at the... kinda weird space. Lady Mira sat on a throne made of money... yes, money, lined with red, velvet cushions... but the most attention grabbing thing was the massive ice carving right behind where she sat, so perfectly resembling the queen that it must've been the work of a master.

Soon after the three of them had crossed the fall, Mercury himself burst in, rolling along the ground a few times before coming to a stop, upright beside his sister. "Where do you think you are?" he said, jumping up a little in outrage. "You stand before the queen of Seacrest, kneel, peasants!"

"Enough, Mercury," Lady Mira chimed. "I don't care if they kneel, so long as they bring profits. Now, I've heard one of you is looking to join Seacrest. Well, step forward, present yourself!"

Ace made his way into the first floor of the dungeon alongside Vincent after the Arcanine dissapeared inside, finding Sparks and Roy standing by the staircase.

"What's going on," Vincent asked the two. "Why are you guys just standing around; there's the staircase, so..."

"Draidon is up on the next floors," Roy answered, looking fidgety like he was done waiting around. "He said he was gonna scope them out so that we could that flaming b*tch who stole my donuts..."

"There not yours, Roy," Ace interupted, sighing. "Remember what the Kecleon brothers said?"

"Quiet, you!" Roy roared passionately. "There mine, mine I say! and I'll fight anyone who wants to say otherwise!"

"Guys, we really don't have time to sit here and go through this..." Vincent was ignored as Roy continued into a confusing rant about the lose of his donuts though... until finally Draiden's voice called down from the stair case.

"Eh, stop bickering and get yeh asses up here!" he yelled angirly, annoyed by the Timbur in particular. "I just went through the next three floors, and she's completely cleaned the place out! It's probably gonna be the same story for most of the higher floors too!" Roy was charging at the stairs the moment Draidon even started talking, shoving past him into the second floor and looking around at the carnage in the room. Vincent and Ace followed, leaving Sparks as the only one still on the first floor.

"You too, Sparky McGee!" Draidon shouted from the second floor. he was obviously pissed about something he had found... "Get up here, we got a thief to catch!"

When sparky arrived on the next floor, he saw much the same scene as the last, only with more defeated Dungeon dwellers lying unconscious. The others were looking around, taking in the carnage around them. Scorch marks blighted the walls and floors. Draidon wasted no time once he has seen that the Jolteon had finally gotten up the stairs.

"Come on," he ordered the team, taking off down the corridor to the next room "She went this way!" Ace and Roy and Vincent followed right after him, following the black trail her Flame Wheel had left behind. Sparky would have pick up the pace if didn't want to be left behind.

"But he also has something else he would wish to speak to you about, lady mira," Mac said quickly after Otto Identified himself. "Don't you, Otto?"

"Is it something that will up the Profit margins?" was the only thing Mira asked. Mac was a bit unsure of how to answer, then deciding to go on a gambit and tell her what she seemed to want to hear.

"Um...yes, my lady... well, maybe?"

"Close enough," The queen mused, turning her attention to Otto once more. "What is this additional matter you wish to speak to me of?"

Alistair remained laying there for several moments before he realized he was out of the cave and in the company of a Gengar...? Yeah, a Gengar. Wow. He really needed to get used to this. It took him a few more moments to realized that he was being asked something, and a few more moments for the words to register fully. "Not really.... Where are we?" he asked, turning his head around to get a better look at the Gengar and his surroundings.

Otto looked reproachfully at Mac, and then clarified the matter by telling the truth.

"Actually, Lady Mira, It does not involve Profit Margins in any way, so i'm pretty sure you're not going to listen to it, judging from the Question you asked concerning what i would've said."

He then turned and spoke to Mac and Artemis.

"I forgot to mention that the Orb that changes me has limited uses, so i'd appreciate it if i could use it sparingly."

Otto then turned back to Lady Mira.

"That's fine, you don't need to change back and forth to tell your side of the story." Artemis said calmly. She proceeded to take a seat as Otto continued to address Lady Mira. Her gaze wandered over to the mountain of gold that Lady Mira was sitting on top of. The Swablu was contemplating on how to link the Milotic's profits to Otto's tale. 'I wonder if I could phrase it so that she could be worried about falling profits once she hears Otto's side of the story...' "Permit me to say one thing, Lady Mira: Although Otto is correct in that the matter doesn't concern rising profit margins, it may have to do with the long term revenue stream if we do not take any precautionary measures now. I believe it would still be best if you could hear him out."

"Yeah." Alina followed Jake up the stairs, and trotting right behind her came Jory. Once they warped to the next floor, she took a moment to unwind. "So what now?" she asked. "Hey, Jake, you said there was a castle up ahead, right? I-" Alina paused for a second. She wasnt sure how exactly to put it; saying that she was a human would sound like a lie, at best, or at worst, make her lose the only pokemon she met so far that knew his way around. Okay, maybe not only, there was still the servine, but the chances of it believing her story was even slimmer. At least she had Jory to back her up. Hopefully. She composed herself, and sat down. "Okay. I dont know how much of this you're going to believe Jake, but Im a human. So is Jory here. I dont even get this myself, but Arceus met us all in a dream, and sent us here to take out Darkrai. You've heard of the legend ages ago when Arceus sent humans to stop Darkrai right? I suppose its the same now." The mudkip reached into her treasure bag, and pulled out the crystal orb Arceus gave her. "This orb Arceus gave me.. he said that if we ever needed to transform back into a human, all we had to do was use this orb." She quickly tucked the orb back in her bag. "Anyway, he said that we were to join up with the nearest castle. I guess he must have contacted the leaders or something."

"Well, shall we go?" Alina stood up, dusting herself. "We should at least get out of this place by sundown, and I think its past noon already."

Merodi laid down as well, gazing up at the jeweled ceiling. "You see, I had this weird dream earlier. Arceus came to me, along with several other humans about my age, and told us that the pokemon world was in danger from Darkrai or something again. And then he gave us these crystal orbs. That's what turned me into a pokemon." She paused for a while. "As far as I can remember, today's the first time Ive ever seen pokemon for real, in the flesh. But then again, I hardly even know what's real and what's not anymore."

Jake turned intently with a blank look, sitting down with his eyes closed. He felt strange, feeling this would be important...

He listened very closely as she spoke, and deep within him, his sense told him that she hadn't told a single lie. Upon hearing "Darkrai" he felt his disaster sense go off the charts, revealing a horrid prophecy of some sort, but was faint, and couldn't be told.

After she'd finished speaking, he rose and opened his eyes, giving Alina and Jory an intense gaze.

"What you say is true... I can sense it... For so long, humans were only mere legend... But it's true..."

He looked toward the sky above, feeling a strong assurance within him of what seemed to be a force from beyond.

He turned away, pacing, mulling and murmuring... He sat still for a moment in awe; taking it all in. He felt he had to, so he used his Future Sight...

From the deep black void came forth a clearly vivid sight... Lucid beyond belief...

He felt as though he were on another plain, a very plain but powerful power emerged from every direction... He looked forward and saw the white figure...

"Arceus..."

The pokemon instructed Jake, telling him to listen to Alina and Jory, trust them. As the dream came to a close, fading... Dimming... He heard

"Go... To Verdance Castle..."

He awoke sweating and breathing harshly... He shivered somewhat, and very slowly, nearly stumbling, he turned to his teammates...

"We... Go. G-Go Verdance Castle... Let's move..."

"You're... not kidding around with me, right?" Pulse began, uncertainly. But then again, there were accounts of humans becoming Pokemon, a recent case here in these lands, and another far, far away, perhaps on the other side of the world... she'd only read it in an archived article delivered by the Pelipper Postal Services. Still, she couldn't help looking the Chimchar over and over, as though scanning for telltale signs that she were a human... but she just looked like an ordinary Chimchar. "I thought Darkrai had been banished, his memory removed and everything..."

The next 2 or 3 floors were the same story; Every Dungeon dweller was KO'd. It wasn't until they got a little higher when that all began to drastically change. Draidon stormed up the stair case to the sixth floor of the mountain... only to find himself completely surrounded by Natu and Parasect and Ariados and Shroomishes all around the room, seeming as if they had been waiting for him and the team...

"You get no further here, friend," one of them, a Parasect, hissed. "We've all been offered Donuts if we take you out here... and damn, are donuts awesome. So, nothing personal, aight? but yeah, you're going down." Ace and Roy and Vincent came up the stairs next, looking around at the opponents that had trapped them.

"Where's the Jolteon?" The Dragon demanded.

"He should be right behind us, I think..." Vincent answered. "But I honestly don't think we have a lot of time to wait for him, given...well, this." he motioned to the monster house with his paw.

"Agreed," Ace said, already taking aim for a Boomburst.

"Wait a minute!" Roy shouted, a bit late to the discussion. "You bastards were offered DONUTS by that b*tch!?"

The monster house members looked a little taken aback by the sudden shout, looking around at each other. Finally the same Parasect from before spooke up.

"That's right, but first we gotta get rid of you... so without further ado!" he had been preparing an attack of his own, but Roy caught him by surprise with a fury filled Superpower, sending the bug type flying over the crowd and into the far wall. He wasn't finished though... he began doing the same to the other crowd goers.

Draidon sighed, dragging his claws down the side of his face a few times, sharpening them. "I'm really beginning to hate that little idiot," he muttered before rushing off after Roy, hands taking on a Teal Glow. Meanwhile, seeing no way out of this now, Ace and Vincent stood back to back against the approaching mob members, the Tailow letting off a Boomburst and Vincent opting to use Noble Roar to try to intimidate a few of them...

The fight had begun ((You enter the floor to find Draidon and Roy in the midst of tearing apart the crowd with brute force and Vincent and Ace holding off those around them))

"You're outside of Brine Cave," Kage answered, offering a hand to help the Axew up. Now that the dragon could a better view, he could see that the Gengar was carrying two knocked out individuals, a Marill and a Wartortle, under his arms. Next to him was a piplup, staring at Alistair as if sizing him up.

"How'd you get out here anyway?" Torrent spoke up "What, you run into trouble in the cave or something?"

Mira mulled it over for a few minutes, building up a sense of suspense in the room that even Mercury could feel. Then she finally looked at the travelers and spoke her decision. "Fine... You may speak, Oshawott, but if it has nothing to do with this castles income or the protection thereof..." as if on cue, Mercury bounced up high into the air and used tackle towards the ground, coming down with a loud slam as if he had used takedown or something, to get his Sister's point across...

Otto calmed himself, and then spoke.

"Lady Mira, the world is in grave peril yet again due to Darkrai's return. I am sure you know that no world means no income, short-term or otherwise. However, it is because Darkrai has returned that Arceus has brought six Humans to this Realm, myself being one of them. He gave each of us a Bag with three things in it: A Crystal Orb that switches our form between Human and Pokemon, a Wonder Map, and a blank Wonder Badge. He then told us that He would confer with Palkia about the matter, seeing how they'd only recently noticed the effects of Darkrai's tampering with both the Temporal Tower and the Temple of Space."

Otto then paused, catching his breath aas he waited for questions that might pop up.

Sparks had finally managed to catch up with the rest of the group as they had encountered a monster house, despite that he had been a few floors behind, "Late to the party huh?" He claimed, glancing about the room as they had been fending off the encroaching mob, "Looks like i made it just in time." He claimed as he began charging a thunderbolt, before launching it at a few of the Natu's, watching as the Psychic birds were falling to the floor, one by one.
