Mystique:

Merodi ducked just in time to avoid Pulse's psybeam. "Got you covered!" she shouted back at Pulse, then turned to face the frosslass. "Hiiyaaah!" she screamed as she rammed her foot (double kick) through the frosslass's face. Literally through. The energetic little fire type passed through the frosslass's ghostly body, dealing no damage at all.

//OOC: if you don't know already, Merodi isn't the brightest kid in the neighborhood. Plus, the human characters aren't supposed to know too much about the setting, pokemon, etc.//

Verdance:

"Alright gang, if we're going to get through here, we're going to need to create some sort of more efficient way. This place seems pretty long... Any ideas? I Don't think we should split up..."

"Did you just dare to suggest we split up?!" Alina snapped at Jake. "Have you realized how weak we are compared to the rest of the usual pokemon appearing in here? While in a dungeon that's, ahem, more of our level, splitting up would increase the clearing rate, but as far as Im concerned, splitting up would drastically decrease our chances of survival! So what if it's past noon and we're only on floor 10? We can camp out overnight if we have to. The only thing Im concerned with is getting to that castle in one piece," the girl grumbled. She was hungry. Starved, more like. And when Alina got low on calories, she became a grouch.

Upon arriving at the end of the corridor, she saw a flash of green escaping up the stairs. That servine again... She wondered if it would help them if she asked nicely.

As he sprinted after her up the stairs with slight reluctance, he felt he couldn't resist the urge to talk back and correct her. He whispered under his breath quietly, "but I... Said don't... Suggest we split up."

But it wasn't worth the guaranteed argument, so he apologized for talking back and just continued onward.

"Everyone. It's time we begin to scavenge. I only have a few oran berries, and two apples. I'll be willing to share. I think you guys should come before me on food. I'll be alright... But we should search this floor for food. If we see enemies in large numbers... I don't think it would be worth it. Do you guys want to go look around or keep moving? I don't think either are bad choices. I'll leave that up to you guys. It'll use all my energy I have left, and I'll probably be pretty hungry afterwards, but if necessary I can scan the future for misfortune."

He quickly turned to Alina with a look of strong guilt on his face, and stuttered.

"... I-I... Think this belongs to you. I'm... S-sorry I ran from you... I'm so sorry I took it in this first place... It wasn't right..."

He pulled the Versace rescue badge from his bag and gave it to Alina to later return.

"Just thought the time was right... Now let's make our decisions... I'll be patient..."

The Espurr stared at the Chimchar for a good five seconds, unblinking. This might be a big problem. "Uh... Physical moves usually tend to not have an effect on Ghost types... but maybe something like Flamethrower would help...?" she tried to suggest, recovering from her shock - a bit too late when the Froslass struck her with Ice Beam. It was all thanks to her hearing sense that she heard it coming and moved out of the way quickly enough to not get one-shotted, but that still hurt. "Stupid snow ghost...!" murmured Pulse, firing another Psybeam at the Ghost-Ice type.

Seacrest

"I don't think I'm in need of anything either," Mac responded, turning away from the other two and walking towards the exit of the chamber. "Come on, time to show Otto to the rookie quarters. I think that with all things we've experienced recently, it's safe to say that we might as well just stay together as a team unit..."

The Tempest Fight...

Sparks entered into the chamber to find a sight fiercer than he might have expected; a bold roar, a flash of fiery orange and two screams. The arcanine was right in there, as Draidon had told them, but on the ground in front of her was Roy and Ace both. They offered no movement as their team mates approached in the distance, saved their own shallow breathing. The burn marks cloaking both their bodies made it clear what had happened...

"I don't know who you little f*cks are," The fery tiger began, opening her mouth wide and charging another flamethrower, preparing to finish them off for good. "But you're gonna regret attacking me just no-" a blur of grey motion from the ceiling. arcing right down towards her. She began choking for a moment, the fire dying in her mouth as she retreated back, hitting her throat vehemently with and finally managing to dislodge the chunk of ceiling rock that had been thrown at her.

"They're my prey, b*tch!" Draidon's voice roared, seeming to echo from everywhere due to the cavern's acoustics. "You ain't killing them, that's my job someday!"

"Where are you!?" she demanded up at the darkness. "Whoever you are, get down here and die like a real man!!"

"Keep your eyes...down here!" Vincent roared as he charged in as fast as his paws would carry him, opening his maw up wide and electricity beginning to crackle along his sharp fangs as he chomped down on the theive's front leg, making sure to shake his head and entire body to and fro like a miniature attack dog in order to rip and tear... She felt it, howling out in pain and looking down, Mouth opened as she prepared another Flamethrower to launch...

Sparks meanwhile, wasn't close enough to physically attack, but he could still save vincent... with the very thing Draidon hated so much.

"Yes, that would be an optimal strategy, considering the dungeons we were just in..." Artemis agreed as she followed Mac back out of the storage chambers. Although she would prefer to travel alone, the recent turn of events has made her reconsider the benefits of having comrades. The Swablu knew that, in her current state, she would not last long in any dungeon that Lady Mira would send her in. And that would just spell expulsion from the castle, which is not something she would like to experience. Perhaps she will reconsider the thought of going solo again when she finally evolves. Until then, Artemis will just go along with the flow to keep herself out of trouble.

Sparks watched as Vincent charged and latched onto the fire hound with a Thunder Fang as the Arcanine was preparing another Flamethrower, "Guess again, you thief! Vince, release your grasp!" He hollered as he charged a Thunderbolt, sending it in her general direction, in order to save Vincent from getting burned to a crisp from her as Draidon was still lurking from within the shadows, hoping that Vince would let go just in time.

Seacrest

*A few moments later*

"Well, here," Mac side as he stood outside the door to his chamber in the rookie quarters, pushing the wooden slab open and presenting the interior to Otto. It...was unsurprisingly somewhat sparse; only the bare essentials in the room; a table with a small bowl of apples, a few piles of hay; four in fact, one was looking a bit bedraggled as if used slept in recently. On the wall hung four small hooks each overlooking the hay bedding. Mac walked in and hung his treasure bag on the one overhanging the slept in spot. "It's not very much, yeah I know... but eh, t's better than having to sleep in the city slums of something, isn't it? And the apples are even complementary... so long as you supply them yourself, that is."

Tempest

Vincent felt the air crackle rather than actually saw the bolt arcing towards the two of them. A thousand thoughts raced through his mind- heat from the flamethrower making him sweat like a Water Type fighting Primal Gorudon and causing his eyes to sting from the sweat to further compound things- but he knew there was only one thing he could do if he wanted to survive...

"Maybe I'm a...LION!!" He shouted as he pushed backwards on his paws and released his jaw from the fire tiger's leg, unleashing the noblest of roars and using the sound wave to propel himself backwards, flipping in mid air and landing a bit shakily at Sparks side. The Flamethrower was interupted by the cry of anger and loud curse that issued from the thiefs mouth as the blast of lightning nailed her smack in the face- a happening which left her feeling a bit funny. With a slow burning rage in those cold eyes, she gradually stiffened, muscles tightening and refusing to unclench.

"Draidon!" Vincent called, but the Dragon had already descended from the darkness in a fury by the time he'd opened his mouth. Claws glowing teal, Mouth bathed in flames, fangs looking just as sharp as his nails. Without a single word, he racked his right hand down in a hard and merciless arc as he neared the criminal, tearing off bouts of fiery orange fur in his hand and drawing more than a few specks of blood with his intensity. The next thing the Arcanine knew, the enraged Dragon type was on her back, sinking his fangs deep into her neck like a Golbat- His Mold Breaker ability kicking in and making sure her Flash Fire didn't save her from the pain.

"Ahhhhh....get...get offfff!!" She shouted, beginning to thrash with what strength she could still muster in her state. Draidon responded by sinking his hands into her shoulders and tearing rigorously, sending blood and fur flying as he lifted his jaw once more and slammed back down, this time on the base of her skull.

A roar. a horrifying, fear laced roar of agony that shook the entire cavern and shook the very ground. Her last attempt to get him off. And then... she was gone, done, on the ground as Draidon shook his head and neck in order to tear flesh and make the wound even worse. She kept struggling for several moments... then finally she gave out, stopped resisting. Her hate filled eyes gazed up at her assailant before she slipped into a world of black unconsciousness- breath shallow and heart beat faint as a Flabebe's whisper in a wind storm.

"Told you they were mine to kill," Draidon said as he finally dismounted her back, hands and mouth gleaming with a dark crimson. He opened his maw, turning back to her as a small fire began to grow and cloak his teeth again... apparently going to end things permanently.

"Wait, don't do it!" Vincent roared, preparing to use another Noble Roar to weaken the murderous Dracovian. Before he could though, Draidon...simply spit a small flame on the thief- specifically on her wounds. Within seconds the torn and damaged flesh cauterized itself, the blood flow stemming as he worked, though ugly scars were left in their places.

"What, you think I was gonna execute her?" He asked when the medical aid was finally done, swallowing the fire in his mouth. "Officer Magnezone prefers his outlaws alive, son. We off her, and we get a decreased award for all the tons of crap we just went through. Anyway..." He turned to Sparks, scowling a little, though not as much as before the battle. "Black Wolf, Magneeto, you two alright? I already saw how those two numb skulls rushed in and got their asses royally handed to them... eh...actually, to be fair, it was more of just that idiot Timburr rushing in and the bird trying to stop him."

Sparks merely nodded in response as he glanced towards the fallen Arcanine, before shifting his gaze towards Draidon, "Yeah, I'm alright, but I can't speak for those two. Sometimes cautious thinking can make a plan work effectively, rather than just rushing in without a second thought like Roy and Ace did. They do need some assistance for their burns, when we get back the castle, but we should return the doughnuts to the Kecleon brothers first." He claimed as he searched the room for the doughnuts the Arcanine had stolen.

"They aren't in here," Draidon said as he watched Sparks beginning to rummage about the place. "Me and Vince had to lure her out of her lair by banging on rocks and making weird ass noises. The goods are probably somewhere back that..." He pointed a noticeably dulled finger at a passage way leading off into a small hallway, before turning his hand against himself and sharpening the instruments of death adorning each of his fingers back up to regular par.

"Well, while you guys are handling items, I'll go see if I can find any rawst berries." Vincent said, heading off fearlessly in search in medicine, leaving the two of them alone. Luckily he and the Dragon had already thought ahead and cleared out any resistance on the floor before luring the thief...

"Well, I'll loot her and collect anything she's stashing on her," Draidon said as began to mosey on over to his defeated opponent, beginning to poke around in her glorious yet ragged beige mane, as if searching a hay stack. "You go get the what she stole, Magneeto. Once Vincent gets back, we can send him back down the mountain with them and give em back... I don't much trust the knuckle head over there, and the bird probably couldn't support them all if he tried."

"Alright then, Draidon." He responded as he proceeded down the passage way that had been pointed out to him, while Draidon was poking around the fallen opponent for anything to loot from her, "He said they were back this way; Hopefully, he's right about that." He muttered to himself as he continued down the passage way in search of the doughnuts that she had stolen.

Sparks

The moment he entered the smaller chamber from the corridor, Sparks could see exactly what Driadon was talking about- There, against the back wall, was the platter filled with donuts, though they no longer steamed with heat fresh from the oven... at least he had found them intact. Hell, from what he could tell, the thief hadn't even eaten any.

Now the only thing that remained... was to waltz over and take them.

((Use caution here... or not, the choice is up to you. ))

Sparks glanced around the small chamber, finding the donuts still intact. He glanced around the chamber as it felt a bit too easy for him to retrieve the stolen pastries, "This doesn't seem right. A thief wouldn't make it this easy.." He muttered to himself as he cautiously began to make his way towards them, keeping himself focused on anything that could happen with his back turned.

Seacrest: (town)

A faint roar could be heard as a rather large gyarados slithered down the road toward the three Seacrest apprentices and the Seacrest apprentice to be. "Eeep!" Torrent and Bubble jumped in unison. Pixi just drew a deep breath and gulped. As the gyarados neared, it was clear that he was dragging two more unconscious zoroark with him, and a rather fat treasure bag. He nodded to Michael, Kage, and Rodrick and swept the two zoroark he captured towards the other two lying on the ground near the demolished "kecleon" shop, then turned to the three Seacrest apprentices.

"Well, I suppose you young 'uns have an excuse for not completing the mission?" Draconis said as he gave the three a glare-down.

Torrent glared back up at his elder, a look of defiance crossing his face. "Well NO FAIR! You DUMPED me when we ran into a MONSTER HOUSE! It took me FOREVER AND A HALF to get out, and then I was KO'D on the NEXT FREAKING FLOOR!" He was ranting now. "If we STUCK TOGETHER we might have finished the job FASTER too!"

"If you were stronger, it might not have taken you forever and half to get through the monster house. Also if you were stronger, I may not have thought of you as a burden and stuck with you to finish the monster house with you. "

"Well hey, it wouldn't be fair if we received zero compensation for our effort would it?" Bubble retorted.

"I'm sorry, but effort doesn't matter in a dungeon. The only thing that matters is that you complete the job in one piece and bring back the rewards. And in this case you did not." Draconis answered in a smug voice. "Either wa--"

Pixi butted in shyly, "Um, maybe we should receive parts of the reward based on how many floors we cleared..?"

"--y, Officer Magnezone will be waiting back at the castle. We'll collect the reward, present it to Lady Mira, and then she can decide what to do. Everyone happy? Let's go." he continued, completely ignoring Pixi's comment. He herded the rest down the path toward the castle just as Mercury bounced up the path.

"MICHAAAEEELLLL!!" The feebas screeched at the top of its lungs. "Come, come, Lady Mira wishes to talk to you about a quite pressing concern.."

Michael stared at the feebas, bewildered. "I believe I left your castle years ago, Mercury," he replied.

Fractal trotted slowly toward the duo. "Yes, but we really need to talk to you about something," the elder glaceon replied. She rose to whisper in his ear. "We've heard that Darkrai may be back, and we really need your intellect on this"

Michael closed his eyes and thought about it. Darkrai huh? I do believe he was cast out, his memory stripped, and weakened to a cripple many ages ago. But there was always a minute chance that he may return. Well, no matter how minute the chances are, chances are chances. "Oh all right," he grumbled. "But might I ask, where did you stumble upon this information?"

Seacrest: (Artemis and Otto)

The sounds of angry bickering could be heard as the rookies neared the throne room, even above the rushing waterfall. Meanwhile, Michael and Fractal waited patiently beside the waterfall for their conference with Mira. Not long after, a wet magnezone could be seen exiting, followed by a gyarados's top fins peeking above the artificial rivers in the castle. Then, three wet water types exited the pool, still bickering.

"I said I wanted to go to Beach Cave!" an angry piplup shouted.

"Hey, no fair, Beach Cave's the easiest dungeon in the area!" a wartortle butted back.

"You're the strongest out of the three of us, so you should be the one going to waterfall cave!" replied the piplup.

Mystique

"Oh." replied Merodi as she spun on her heel. "Then take THIS!" she shouted as she spat a bursting flame at the frosslass, dealing quite a bit of damage. The flame burst sprayed everywhere, leaving dents, craters, and rubble around the room.

Verdance:

"Keep it." Alina mumbled through a mouthful of gummi. "I have my own food for now. Lets keep going as far as we can, okay?" She trotted down the nearest corridor, and through another room. "Oh hey guys, would you look at what I found here?" A big apple lay on the ground next to a pecha berry and a black gummi. "You want to eat, or should we save it for later?

HOTCHIMNEYPOPCORN--

Pulse leapt back to dodge the stray fire and pebbles that flew. Even the Froslass herself seemed stunned, not only from the damage she got on impact. Well, that was reckless, but it helped whittle down this pesky ghost, the Espurr thought. Training would be an issue later. So would figuring out how much of what this Chimchar said was true. But if she were really originally human, well, that would explain her inexperience... "Keep at it! I think it's faltering now." Just don't hit me. The thought was almost audible as the psychic feline projected another telekinetic wave in an attempt to deflect the cold wind that began to pick up with the irritated Ghost-Ice type's rising temper...

Sparks

Using caution was indeed a wise decision... for as soon as Sparks got within a few feet of the goods; the ground fell away, the solid stone crumpling and sending countless pebbles upon pebbles tumbling down to the floor below. Luckily he'd been out of range- and lo and behold, the goods were alright... simply seperated from his reach by a small gap. But he could jump it, couldn't he? Honestly, it was only... a meter at most maybe? and there seemed to be enough room to land from the leap and get the plate on his back, surely...

Sparks drew a deep breath as he watched the ground crumble away before him, "Well, that was too close for comfort.." He muttered to himself as he glanced down the gap, "I should be able to make it with a running start." He claimed as he steadily began to back away from the gap, 'Hopefully this works..' was all that ran through his mind as he charged towards the gap with short strides to build up speed, before he lunged over the gap, keeping his focus primarily on retrieving the donuts.

"Keep it?... Alright. Fine."

He continued walking before running to catch up with Alina as she dashed around the corner.

Noticing Alina's find, he approached the food hungrily, but stopped himself.

"We need to keep that pecha just in case. That big apple will come in handy, but only if one of us begins to starve should we eat it."

Before he picked up the next item however, he asked Alina.

"I hope you allow me to this black gummi. I would sincerely appreciate a fuller stomach if that isn't greedy..."

Artemis had listened quietly as Mac showed Otto around the rookie quarters; she really didn't have anything to add since it's pretty self explanatory. Finally, she chose a soft hay patch that was closest to the window and began to fix it up to her heart's content. When that was finished, Artemis began to pluck through her now dry and white wings for dirt. Somehow, it always peeved her when they get dirty...

And then the shouting reached her ear slits. Artemis gave a glare towards the door before she finally decided to speak. "Honestly, I get that Lady Mira could be disagreeable, but it shouldn't amount to shouting at such an insane level." She flitted towards the entrance of their quarters and peeked out, attempting to identify the origin of the yelling and screaming. When that didn't work, she flew (finally!) towards the throne room and found the Piplup and the Wartortle engaged in an argument. "Hey, what's with the shouting? Did someone step on your tails or something?"

Otto had just made himself comfortable when he heard the bickering start. the fact that he'd just gotten comfy made him even more annoyed by the bickering, and he stormed out to the Throne Room behind Artemis, still in human form, speaking in a harsh voice to the Piplup and Wartortle when he arrived.

"Would you quiet down?! I was just getting settled in when you two started making a racket so loud that it could be heard halfway across the Castle!"

  • 2 weeks later...

Mystique-

Merodi picked up some of the rubble that was laying around. Thanks for distracting that ghost for me, she thought with a grin on her face. "Hey ice fairy, have some rocks!" shouted the chimchar as she pelted the rocks at the frosslass's face. Momentarily blinded, Merodi used flame burst again, knocking it out.

"Now that the pesky ghost is out of the way, shall we move on?"

Seacrest-

Torrent turned around to face Artemis and Otto, glared at them, snorted, and stomped toward the door. Bubble followed, still shouting, but thankfully not as loud as before. Seconds ticked away as the duo stood, glaring at each other, and then Torrent slowly turned around. "Wait a minute... Did I really see what I just saw?" They'd finally seemed to realize that Otto was standing in human form right there.

"Is that.... a HUMAN?" Bubble stared for a second, then burst into laughter. "Ha, ha, nice illusion, but you can cut the crap now and get out." He readied himself in a defensive stance, ready to shoot off a water gun anytime.

Verdance-

"Sure, why not?. I get the big apple then, since you have your own apples." She pocketed the pecha berry and big apple, then turned around, looking down each corridor trying to locate the stairs. Of the three corridors they didn't take yet, neither looked that promising. "Hey Jake, can you tell which one of these corridors is the least dangerous? Your ability sure is useful."

Otto shook his head bemusedly, chuckling to himself.

"And Mercury called me the crazy one!"
Otto then spoke to Torrent and Bubble.

"Yes, I am a human. Your eyes aren't deceiving you, my true form is that of a Human."

what Otto said next was aimed more towards Torrent.

"You probably don't recognize me in this form, now do you?"

"Oh boy thanks!"

Jake chowed down on the gummy, feeling rejuvenated he kept up with Alina until they came across the corridors.

"I gotta admit... This ones gonna be tricky? Which one do we head down?"

Jake thought until Alina suggested he use his disaster sense, and agreed that was a fine idea.

"Alright, here goes..."

He closed his eyes and focused until he saw a vision. He found some pretty scary stuff too. He opened his eyes and turned back around quickly.

"Alright, gang. I got it. The right is a dead end. Nothing in there. The middle seems to be safe, and I feel it contains stairs. However, there's a treasure trove to the left. But I 'strongly' feel an ambush there. Where should we go, Alina? I'm ready wheh you are."
