...I really didn't know what to call this post, it's going to be full of random stuff.

Firstly, now that Nyu, the person who set up and maintains the Reborn Server in the first place has finally joined, he has been promoted to his rightful Adminship. Thank you for everything, Nyu.

Secondly, I am aware that the server's traffic is increasing more and more. A Password protection system has been suggested, and we are currently looking into potential details on such a thing. Another proposed idea was to have both a Private and a Public server for separate uses. I'd like to know how everyone feels about these ideas before we take more definite steps towards realizing them.

On the note of traffic, I understand that when there's sixty people in the server, it can be a bit much to manage.
That said, you will NOT disrespect ANYONE in that server or you WILL be kicked or worse.
...Actually, the members of this site are usually pretty good about that. I'm mostly speaking to the people who will never read this, so whatever.

However, because of the increase, we will need to hire some additional disciplinary enforcement agents- AKA Moderators.
I'm told that several members were granted some mod privileges to control this morning's chaos. Those, among several other members will be under surveillance and consideration for potential candidates.
...
And let me just say this now, because I know some blockhead is going to do it anyway.
Do not ask to be a mod. It really won't help your case.


....In other news, Tournament 2 concluded last night (congratulations to the winner, Bullet!), and we're gearing up for Tournament 4! (what happened to T3? ....don't ask)
T4 is a VGC tier tournament! Details are in the Indigo Plateau section of the forums. Everyone is invited, but Registration is closed on Saturday! T4 takes place Sunday the 17th at 7:00 PM EST on the Reborn Server.


Finally, one of our members, Will, has begun writing a webcomic, [url="http://www.pokemonreborn.com/index.php?showtopic=92"]+Infinitas,[/url] based on this site and the Reborn Server. He's posting it on this site, so check it out if you've got a moment.

Ah...well I'm not going to be able to compete in that tourny.

On to the other subject matters. I would be for the idea of creating two separate severs, though at the same time I am cautious of it. There has just been a large influx of people coming on to our server simply because we appear to be big. Not that hard when the #2 through #5 servers in size can be under 20 users. People who don't want to go to the main server migrate to ours, usually trying to find weaker opponents (faced someone who lead with a Darkrai when I had a Jumpluff, he got a critical hit, and then yelled "LOL n00b!" *shudder*). But there are ones trying to find a smaller server they can stand out in and enjoy, and those are the people we want for the site. It's just separating those people out. Having a server for only people who have signed up on the forums and a second one for people to find out about the site sounds great. My only worry is who would run the non-password protected one. I would assume our tournaments and the Reborn League would take place on the protected server, so why would any of us really want to go to the other server? If we just depend on us hanging out there to recruit people, I fear we just won't because...we're lazy. I'm all for giving it a shot though as it can't hurt.

Now to go read this new comic that is being produced and the critique it.....to HELL!!! Muhahahahaha!

Of course, I'd take care of the public server. I take my job seriously. I really do. Besides, whenever I'm in the server, it sorta calms down. Unless if there's new people who don't know what I'm all about. xP They quickly learn, and it's nice^^ It's also nice to have a private server to keep battles in check, and whoever WANTS a battle can go into there, and patiently wait. Whilst in the public server, there's so much going on at once, the simplicity runs right out the door. It would be awesome, if Nyu can somehow announce PPR when people log in. So we wouldn't necissarily have to talk about it all the time. So I'm in favor~

Miss Kitty does do a good job in maintain the public server. And on the recruting matter we should try to weed them out and get the ones we know who will go far to join...... Lol Maintaining the Public server during a mass overload is ver ydifficult but Kitty has done it lol good job kitty. and Then Nyu got the idea of restarting it and only some came back.... In the matter of new Mods remember they need to be fearless and not care what people think or say. cause when oyu do kick someone they do get pissed but it shouldnt matter. They jsut need to move on and learn what not to do...... i've also noticed that we have a lot of uber users who think WE are the noobs..... and when we beat them they still say we are noobs because a certain pokemon we use...... but i digress anyways good luck on the Search AmethystStorm. And to Miss Kitty keep up the good work! =]

I usually decline requests from uber-users, though I did battle one of them out of boredom a couple weeks ago. He went down without much of a fight; I was rather surprised. (His Darkrai didn't even use Dark Void on me. I'm not sure if that's because he had some decency or because he didn't know about the move...like when I uber-battled Ame on Smogon. =p)

What I think would be a neat course of action, is, if it's possible, have the server automatically whisper anyone that joins with a short blurb about the gym challenge, and a link to the forums. Because the whisper pop up is a lot harder to ignore than the server description, or some automatic message in the chatroom when they join.

Then if they still ignore it we can proceed to berate--I mean educate them!

lol we should scout the people if we think they have potential the mods should watch their matches and save the logs compare notes then decide who is good and who isnt lol.
