    hello. it is i, cass, six-time winner of the Most Likely to Not be Ame award.


    today i am going to let you in on a little secret.

     

    you may have noticed that it's been over a year since our last release.

    now, in that time, we've gotten some stuff Done™️ 

    especially the ai. 

    now, y'all are still out there running that old e18 ai

    and lemme tell you.

    it is garbage.

    the ai always thinks it's faster than you. it sends out types that your pokemon are super effective against. item use occasionally scores 12000 on a scale that effectively peaks around 100. it sucks. it has been annoying the hell out of me for months. 

     

    now, as you might also have noticed, it is the season for the Giving of Gifts.

    so we're putting out a little holiday update. 

    it is not e19. 

    i shouldn't really have to say that. we have progress bars. we keep saying that it won't be out for quite a while yet. it will also 100% not be a surprise. it will take months of testing before it's ready.

    but a little package of ai updates and small fixes?

    we can do that in a week.

    so today i'd like to announce the e18.2 release. it's an aipdate!

     

    there's a good deal of stuff that isn't in this.

    last week i stared ame in the face, and was like "y'know what would be great? let's put out a mini release for the holidays as a surprise present!"

    and she was like "hhhHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ok fine"

    the number of h's in that quote is inversely proportional to what I was able to convince her to add. a very limited testing period means that we can't really check for fatal bugs terribly well. 

    but there is some nice new stuff!

    - A Fuckload ™️ of AI updates.
    - A Smalload ™️ of trainer updates.
    - HP bars move faster.
    - The ability to forfeit trainer battles.
    - Multiple active save slots

    - New animations

    it's not a whole lot, but we really wanted to get something out there for y'all.

    Fantastic; speedy ai has me on edge sometimes. That being said, good to hear Ame also still lives.

     

    And lastly; i'm really enjoying the progress bars and updates; it's like a game on its own; don't care how fast or slow the work goes. Best wishes from a normally silent forum creeper.

    First of all, this version it's amazing, even though it has small changes, thanks a lot for the changes made. The slots mechanic it's neat, and the HP speed is much appreciated. I haven't tested for a long time, since it's been out for small time, but i do want to ask something. Does Earthquake have an animation now?

     

    Btw, that Aurora Veil animation is GORGEOUS, i always have an A-Ninetales in my team, and it's nice seeing that animation. Keep up the good work!

    This is great, i wanted to start over the game waiting for the E19 so thank you 😀.

     

    So are the change stricly limited to what you said on the post or can we expect other minor changes ?

    Wow, it's impressive how thorough you are with perfecting everything. The AI is pretty good already, yet that's not enough for you. Thanks for this nice update

    it is limited to what we said, since we are basically just ripping specific things out of e19 and shoving them backwards into e18. we were limited in what could be properly tested without a full cycle.

    Ooh, shiny. Unfortunately I coulda used the speedier HP bars before I spent the past few days EV training, but hey. Any update is a good update for me, and I love the feeling of being on the newest version! Ready to get absolutely demolished by Hardy on even better AI now.

     

    And so the progress bars march on.

    A little question here:

    You said there are a few changes to some trainers. Radomus for example now has 3 of his Pokémon carrying Sythetic Seed. Prior to 18.2 it was only his Gardevoir who used that item.

     

    Are you going to update the downloadable PBS files for 18.2?

    Now granted,  the context of the situation the phrase was used in wasn't exactly good, but i still think it fits.



     

    It's an accomplishment in of itself that Ep19 is near halfway complete.

     

    While this update doesn't really add anything in terms of plot progression, it does warrant another few runs.

     

    Especially with updated trainer A.I.

     

    Gotta remember that the Devs can always make tougher challenges if they really want to. Lol


     

    I'm also glad to know Ami is alright. Not sure if i could continue playing Reborn in Good conscience if she wasn't.

    Quick question. Every online battle I play gets stuck on waiting since the release of the new patch. Am I required to update my game asap? (I'm still waiting for all the mods I'm using to be updated)

    So far I'm enjoying these changes. I have one question though: How does the multiples save slots thing work?

    EDIT: Never mind. I had the shared PC box mod thing which I guess conflicted with the save slots thing

    Well, i had a long time to play it, and i saw other new animations. I almost let a tear when i saw that incredible Earthquake animation. By far the best additions with Aurora Veil, those moves (especially Earthquake) really needed an animation.

    I'm overjoyed for the multiple save capability! I can finally stop messing about with swapping the files (and accidentally deleting them) when I wanna change characters. Saves us all a bunch of hassles!

    So, great with the multiple save files, but i already have 2 files, but the game only recognizes one as the other is named game1... Is it possible to get the game to load both so i can switch in the menu?

    It will be done when it's done. There is a development blog where they post updates about the game, so it's better to just be patient and don't rush things
