Very Understandable

Despite the Scovillain part (what can I say, spicy food can be good and pepper is a classic), understandable in all regards. Do things in your own pace and take your time living your life. Rejuv comes not even second, but waaay behind (top 15 most important things when? and why is tinkaton 1st place?). Plz don't burnout yourself, we will wait as long as needed. I guess that's all and merry christmas to you and the team (and whoever else might be reading this long af comment)

Jokes aside, thank you and your whole team for this game. I’ve been meaning to say this for awhile but genuinely, thank you. [LONG, SAPPY WARNING. DO NOT PROCEED IF YOU HATE MUSH.]

I haven’t been with the game as long as I assume many of the people here are, having only first found it last November. Long story short, this game heavily contributed to getting me a girlfriend lol. At the time, she was already strong friend of a few years. But over the course of the year, we spent a large amount of it just gushing over the game, the experience, and more. Having been playing for a time before introducing her to it, there was something we liked to do where we would dedicate non-busy hours to have me watch her play and react to all the shocking, hilarious, and otherwise absolutely amusing moments in the plot. As you can imagine, all that wholesome time spent with one another pushed us together until it became a sense of not wanting to be apart from one other regardless of what we did or played.  (Yes, we’re corny and old fashioned.) You can imagine the look on her face when she got to Where Love Lies, the end of the second chapter. Even outside of all that, I genuinely want to say thank you for making and continuing to work on Rejuvenation. As someone who eventually fell off from the main games (it’s ok, I’m not an unreasonable monster who tells people they shouldn’t like the recent games) this genuinely was something to reignite the passion I had for the series and the entire experience from start to finish gave me a time I absolutely will not forget. It’s a bit difficult to get the exact words I’m looking for to show just how much this all meant to me. But honestly? Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. To you, Zumi, and everyone else who made this wonderful game.

The news anchor image is my favourite thing about this (and there's a lot of competition), something about Venam's serious face and "There is no news" has me in hysterics

I wasn't expecting anything news related this month anyway really? Like December is Christmas time (or holiday season for others who don't celebrate Christmas), that's a really busy time. Like a month from the November one sounds good on paper but once you realize that December is filled with holiday time then you think to yourself, 'wow I do not have the time to actually be working on this, I need to focus on the holidays and such.' Then it starts not being great time.

Plus seasonal depression risk for some of the dev team, and it becomes a boiling pot of bad potential things happening. So taking December 'off' so to speak is a good idea. And if you manage to get ideas during that, just write it on a little notepad and keep it to the side while you focus on the holidays.

Good that you seem to be doing fine though, as is the rest of the team. Wish the mod team a good holiday!

Jan I say waiting is worth it. Because yeah I want the next version soon because all the stuff I have seen and heard from you guys are great but I rather have it done right then rushed and you deserve to spend time in whatever you want because as you said it is just a fan game project and you need to look out for yourself in a lot of things. So I say Jan do whatever you need to do and take your time on rejuv as much as you need. :) 

i hope you unlock this alternate story branch in real life where you get to take a well-deserved break :) even if there're no updates to show i just like hearing what the devs have to say, about anything really

Yea there are people who comment and complain about a free game. But there are a ton of people who you don't see who don't comment or nag or pester and just enjoy the game silently. I couldn't care less if there's new updates and appreciate a free game. There's an elite four right? There's an ending right? That's more than fine with me. Just ignore the commenters who fail to have common sense and you'll be fine. Thanks for a one of a kind game, free or not. Reborn, too.

take all the time you need! your life and mental health will always take priority over Rejuv, as excited as I may be for the next update. if it meant that the update would be something you and the rest of the team could be proud of, I’d be happy to wait another year if needed!

Thanks for this--this kind of transparency is really important for anyone aspiring to game design/development--like me.  Especially the part where you talk about the kinds of people you've had to deal with...that's something I'm gonna have to figure out how to handle.  I mean, since I have serious issues with people in general due to PTSD, particularly online.  Some people here have already seen this for themselves, but I'm kinda beyond caring what anyone thinks at this point.

But, I dunno..the prospect of using game design and creativity in general to make a difference in people's lives pretty far outweighs all the dumb people issues I struggle with, so I'd say it's good fuel for overcoming it.  Hopefully I can one day get to basically where you are now when it comes to dealing with people.

Thanks for all you and the rest of the Rejuv team do, Jan.  And yeah, best look after yourself and your health first--take it from me, as someone who's been through a little too much in life.

I want you to know that you have value to me even when you aren't actively working on the fangame. I know what it's like to need to take time away from stuff to just... exist. For me it's fan fiction rather than fan games, but I still need time where I need to just put that stuff aside for a while. Just because you enjoy working on a thing doesn't mean it isn't a mental burden. And sometimes life just doesn't leave you the time/energy you need for passion projects, this time of year especially.

So yeah, take your time. No pressure. Seriously, Rejuvenation is already locked in as my favorite Pokemon fan game ever regardless of how things go from here so I'm happy to wait however long.

I think at some point you've gotta say "okay that's enough pokemon".

Rejuvenation's not precisely lacking in variety and the dexit makes keeping every mon updated very annoying and inconsistent (I guess you could use Smogon's natdex tier as reference, but it's still a lot of tedious work). By the time you get around to include all of gen 9, full with custom events and everything, gen 10 is gonna be around the corner, and here we go doing this song and dance again.

Don't worry, we love your job, take as much time as you need for everything. I really love what you guys are doing in rejuvenation, and by any means you should rush more than you can, or else we may get the amount of bugs and glitches scarlet and violet has, which will then cause the product to have more updates and delay it even more. Take your time, have fun during Xmas and relaaaax, you all deserve it. Thanks for all the hard work you have put into the game.

Honestly, even though gen 9 pokemon would be nice since I do like some of their designs, I really feel like we don't need them. Like theres already 700 kinds of pokemon and 1000 would be difficult to keep track of. Just saying, don't overwork yourself. I would be exhausted thinking of 1000 pokemon and figuring out which place to put them in.
